*eyes fill with hearts* oh, joy! a persimmon orchard! the vizier is so wise, indeed! XD
Ailuro
Jan 19 2005, 11:58 PM
*jaw drops* I have to plant all these?
...
Can I have one persimmon to eat? ^^;
*takes broadsword from the King*
I will... need this? o_o

An orchard! It will also make the garden area more shady on hot days. Fantastic.

When does etiquette lesson start?

And who's my sensei?
Quistis88
Jan 20 2005, 12:00 AM
If no one is up for it or if no one is qualified for the position, I could always teach you in my spare time, though with me, you'll have to cover every area of etiquette (or rather, as much as I know).

*finishes the last transmutation of new bulbs for the chandelier and drops back to the floor, dusting her hands off* there we are. good as new and ready to be swung from another day-- *looks at the queen* er...that is...

the captain suggests that we plant some peaches or apples too because she is not too fond of persimmons. or rather, they don't get along very well with her stomach. -__-ll

Just make sure I don't see it.

You poor dear.

Perhaps you could mention this request to the King.

*walks over to the tree that ailuro transmuted. puts both hands on it, its blooms and bears fruit immediately.*
if you are hungry here...
and stop your complaining.... i have given you all the items and knowledge you need. you just have to use them properly.
but don't worry about failing... sometimes we learn more through failure than through success. however it is impossible to learn anything if you do not try.
*picks some persimmons and starts to eat them. looks over to see bling's light transmuation*
WHOA!!! STOP RIGHT NOW!!! light alchemy is advanced.... never try that again until i tell you do so. you were SO close to a cascade....

*sighs* Angel, dear, come back to your mother's side this instant.
Ailuro
Jan 20 2005, 12:23 AM
Every student needs to complain, that's how their lives go on.

Anyway..
*stares at the basket of persimmons with chin on hands*
Perhaps if I draw one array that was larger than the others and holds more equations. Would that save energy...?
*begins putting plan into action*
hitokiri
Jan 20 2005, 12:25 AM
*calms down*
sorry for yelling but the idea of my new daughter turning into pure energy and dispersing into nothingness kinda freaks me out..... please don't ever do light alchemy again, bending pure light energy to your will is hard; it takes years of practice to master.
*turns back to ailuro*
yes, and very good observation... you're on the right track but you're not quite there yet...

Quistis88

If you'd like. Which sort of etiquette would you like to start with first? Mind you, your mother's repertoire, though existent, can be limited.

You're the master, Mommy...

I'm ready for anything...
hitokiri
Jan 20 2005, 12:32 AM
here's a hint apprentice... when i have to transmute a philosopher's stone, i don't draw arrays for each individual "subject"....
Ailuro
Jan 20 2005, 12:34 AM
How challenging.

Hmm.. how could I do this all in one single transmutation while using all the fruits and the resources available to me as well as save energy at the same time? What a thorny situation.
Wait, you want me to use the energy of people?

XD No, can't be.
You want me to use one array for everything right? Regular sized and have the reaction carry through to everything?
Bling_bling_Angel

We shall start with silverware then. Dining etiquette. First, tell me what you know of their placements and functions.
hitokiri
Jan 20 2005, 12:37 AM
ok... let me rephrase that then... if you were to stir fry a head of broccoli, would you use a different wok for each individual piece?
*armstrong tries to discreetly make a gesture signifying a giant circle*
damnit this is her test.... stop that at once....
Ailuro
Jan 20 2005, 12:40 AM
You'd use one. So you want me to use one array for everything like I said, yes? But then you said I wasn't quite there, what would be the thing that's missing?
hagane_no_tokage
Jan 20 2005, 12:40 AM
*flails* aaa~ mou~ this one feels useless! everyone is DOING something! =\
*fidgets a moment, then resolves to cleaning up the dishes from teatime for now*
hitokiri
Jan 20 2005, 12:42 AM
exactly.... no i said you didn't have to power to do them all individually... this is the first lesson of advanced alchemy... whenever possible do things in a grand gesture, it saves on time and energy.
now all you have to do is figure out an array suitable for the task... remember the points and angles determine how efficient the transfer of energy is...
(upon reading your previous posts, i thought you were talking about one larger array and some smaller ones)

*clears throat* Dinner plate on center, salad fork on left side of plate... main knife on right side. Dinner fork next to salad fork, next is the napkin. Next to the knife is the spoon. Above the forks is a small plate, bearing the butter knife...

what would the queen have this one do?
XD don't forget the *peanut* butter knife, princess!
j/k...

j/k... No worries about the cultural differences (I am more familiar with western dining anyway). The more the Princess learns, the better. If you know anything special about dining procedures, please add in your two cents as well.

Unless the soup is in a soup cup, which needs a saucer... >_<
Ailuro
Jan 20 2005, 12:54 AM
*feels she finally made a worthy array, partly because Armstrong didn't cough at all after completion (8D)* Oh yeah, what was the sword for?

Jan 20 2005, 12:57 AM
On the most part, yes. Though you did miss a few utensils, such as the cocktail fork, dessert fork & spoon (goes above plate), fish fork, salad knife. Do refer to the water glass as the water goblet. Next in line, the champagne flute, white/red wine glasses (there is a size difference, in that the one for white wine is smaller), and the sherry glass.

Other than that, very good job, dear. Any questions?

Jan 20 2005, 01:00 AM
Right, once again that's what I was thinking you gave it to me for but was questioning your sanity. xD
So er.. let's start!

*places persimmons several feet away from each other along with a couple oranges, apples, and peaches*
Yosh!

umu. this one supposes it would be extremely unlikely that an occasion would arise that the princess would be dining among this one's kind... however, this one CAN teach the princess some of the finer arts of her people.
this one's race has been known for their exquisite glasswork (from the rare specimens who can breathe fire, in particular...) and medicinal mixtures. oh, we have also been heralded as excellent dancers, if this one may say so. ^__^

Sorry to have to put all this weight on you, Angel dear, but as you're going to be married soon, you might not have time to learn these things anymore, and should take the opportunities given to you now.
