But sir, don't I need all the necessary ingredients for the plant to grow? Such as water, or the correct amount of sunlight? Such an accelerated rate of growth would tire the plant out and make it wilt before it even reached the desired height. Or am I thinking about it too much?
Do I even have the right amount of Hydrogen and Oxygen to create the fuel for the plant to survive?

that is a valid question but you already know the answer.... you just don't know you know it...

soil is made of nutrients specifically there for the purpose of feeding plants, you only need to concentrate it and feed it in manually via alchemy. as for the light... well your own engery will replace that. the same goes for the water... you merely have to concentrate and reshape the hydrogen and oxygen in the air.

Hrmmm... so what lessons can I get?

apprentice, wouldn't it be easier to draw the array in the soil with your finger or something? the captain is not experienced in alchemy, but imagines that it would be difficult to draw chalk arrays on soil.

Maybe we gotz a different kind of soil here...

I did think about that, but decided against it because using my finger in the dirt would be extremely difficult to make the array perfect. That's the reason why I chose a firm spot of soil and used my chalk which I have much better control over.

very good. now hopefully you noticed when did this transmutation it didn't use as much energy as if you had rearranged an equivalent ammount of material, but with two transmutations. you see, every time you do a transmuation there is a base cost; so if you can link multiple transmutations or combine them you save energy.

that was the intro.... here is your lab..

*hands her the entire basket of persimmons*

do the same for all of them, and remember to arrange them far enough apart that they don't compete for resources.

you are not yet powerful enough to do them all indivually, so figure out a solution. remember both of the tips i have given you so far and you will do fine...
