Why is the movie taking so long? I heard it was supposed to come out last summer, and it obviously didn't. I've also heard that they showed either the whole movie or parts of it at some film festival in Montreal...

The movie is taking long because of CG, VA, production people getting sick, delays, and Square has other things in production. Also, the team that made Spirits Within was FAR bigger than the group that is making AC. Also, for US version, they are planning to synchronize the lips with our language I have heard, so that may add a moth or few to do that XD Good luck guys on holding up ^^

screw the english version im flying to japan as soon as its released. reason? i want to hear the characters pronounce cloud as "cloudo" haha. thats so awesome.

Sigh, it seems like such a long time to wait. However, I am sure some loyal fan will have the movie fan-subbed in English as soon as the movie comes out in Japan. I was unable to wait for the movie to come out so I had to be stupid and read the transcript from the Venice Film Festival. From what I read of the thirty minute script, I believe that many fans will be particularly pleased. I just hope that the movie lives up to expectations. Sniffle, I still do not know who the mysterious man in the wheel-chair is.

I certainly hope so. The script excert I read was rather interesting and I really hope that the movie lives up to expectations. They certainly spent long enough on it and the animation looks incredible. Gah, even though Sephiroth looks like he is wearing lip-stick.

I'm pretty sure on anime-source there's a group that released a DVD rip of the movie with subtitles for downloads.

Well I just finished watching the movie and all I can say is it was great! Everything was superb I just didn't understand the ending tho.

1.Yes the quality was amazing. DVD quality.

OMG! This is a great movie! I tried to wait and just buy it, which I still am, but I just had to see it tonight. Absolutely breathtaking! The fight scenes almost made me cry. I can see how people who didn't play the game would be confused, but that's like 5 people. It's the best animated movie i've ever seen. The tears of joy just won't stop coming.

downloaded, watched, and it didn't meet my expectations.

[spoiler]the main characters didn't really talk to each other, and there wasn't really a story, it was just cloud, fighting battle after battle, after battle. i think there was some point made that he no longer was "lonely." i was most disappointed about how there was no tifaXcloud. i mean c'mon square-enix. a hug wouldn't sufficed. >.< [/spoiler]
