Once again. This is for ALTERNATE pairings.. RoyxRiza isn't counted... since that's pretty obvious and wouldn't make an interesting poll.

But then we'd still have to contend with people who neglect to read the first few posts where the purpose of the thread and the absence of a mainstream pairing has been clearly stated.

Well, being quite solidly straight myself, and having truly nothing against homosexuality, I can say it's possible to be at least 99% thrown over one side of the fence. If there's a little seed of femlove in me somewhere, I haven't found it yet, and it's not for lack of wishing. (I know scads of really nice girls, but I can't seem to find a cute guy...or bring myself to date a girl. ; )

Roy strikes me as very straight; same with Ed. Just their general behavior screams 'straight' to me. You know? All orientations aside, though, I have to say that what really disturbs me about RoyEd isn't their sexuality. It's their age. Ed's only fifteen, sixteen toward the end of the series, and Roy has got to be pushing thirty. That's a huge gap, not to mention counts as molestation no matter how you slice it, and Roy does not come off as a child molestor to me.

So, since Roy/Riza is not an option here, I'm proud to be the first person to vote for the only woman in the show who's as sneaky, manipulative, ruthless, exhibitionist, and sexy as Colonel Mustang... Psiren.

About the age. Yeah... I'm also a little uptight when it comes to huge age gaps. I'm okay if the younger person is round 16... and it's not like Ed is getting younger. In a few years it wouldn't be that bad (but then Roy would be going steady with Riza... )

Honestly, I think Maes was the best match for Roy. Their dynamic was amazing, and I love the idea of them having a relationship before Maes met Gracia.

But of course, not only did Hughes get married but he died too, so now I support RoyxAlcohol. =P

In my weird defense for RoyXWinry...
Believe it or not there is a quite a few shippers for Roy/Winry, and even more fanfics made about them then Ling/RanFan. Of course not like Royai. It is twisted, but by the end of Shamballa, I know a lot of people who came out loving the idea of RoyXWinry.

In Shamballa:

1.) Winry loses Ed (basically forever) and she seems to accept this.

2.) Roy X Riza in Shamballa - was a little uncomfortable, it seemed as if they acknowledged each other, and definitely care for one another, but where was the spark?

3.) The director had stated in the Special Features that there was a whole scene cut out of the movie where Roy and Winry were supposed to make up. The scene where Winry and Schiezska find the lilies on Hughe's grave. That was supposed to be the
scene. But it ended up getting cut out due to time.

4.) Roy calls Winry, she is fine with this. Making it seem like they have come to some form of reconciliation.

This is all silly stuff and just my opinions by the way, and I believe everyone has the right to like whatever pairing they want!

Definitely Roy & Olivier...

They have chemistry, though volatile as it is - probably what makes this pairing interesting to begin with.

Since I would have chosen Riza had she been on the poll, my choice [and in my view, the next best relationship for Roy] would be HughesRoy. However, since Hughes died, it's a tie between RoyLust and RoyOlivier. RoyLust would be interesting; I could see a storyline in which Lust aids Roy in his search for Hughes' killer, because honestly, Lust had plenty of emotion in comparison to Envy; of course, Roy would have to assist her in exchange, and the tension would be interesting. As for RoyOlivier, well, their interactions are interesting and speak for themselves.

Though I also wouldn't say no to a little RoyHavoc.

But then Again I vote for RoyWin.
I love the idea of Roy with Winry.
