ok, it's the royxriza thing, hehehehe....

when i first played the scenario mode (roy/riza vs izumi/winry), i thought, "oh, this is going to be tough"... i barely touched them and they died bec. of winry's bombs, hahaha!! after that, i just stared blankly at the screen... o~h--kay...

the same thing happened (riza/roy vs bradley/winry). i was busy looking for items when they suddenly died of winry's bombs, again, and ended the match.... ;;

gna gna gna, poor winry-chan ... making her a lame character...
side info: in fma 2 for ps2 Riza and Roy will support Ed/Al ^^ they walk with you and attack the enemy :,3

i find winry one of the strongest characters, though she's slowing than a turtle. the reason y some of you can't transmutate the notebook (the most common item in the game) is because you've ranked up. certain items can't be gained and transmutated unless you've a certain rank.

the list of items which are important to me are:

knight chess piece and queen chess piece:
to unlock level 4 i think. wifout level 4, good items are hard to get.

ultimate shield X2.
Alchemist Emblem X2. (unlock greed first or else it won't work.)
armstrong X2. (for scenario)
cow X2 (for scenario)
Eyepatch X2 (for pride)
Ouroboros X2 (for wrath, wrath is latest guy i got, so dunno if there's anymore.)

bradley has the knight piece so it won't matter. and greed has to be unlocked before hidden scenario 1. (armstrong) then after you beat it, unlock hidden scenario 2 (cow). and then fuse the chess pieces. izumi can be done anytrime after greed. after you finish the scenarios and unlocked the level 4. then it's probably time for S rank. SS is super has to get. though there's not much hope, if the last 2 of the homunculi are in the game, then that'll be good. but i doubt it a lot. also, i dun think there'll be a sequel to the game neither but you never know. maybe wif more maps, characters and specials.

hope they do a sequel ^^

oh, and how to get greed? combining 2 ultimate shields? at which rank i get them by whom?

to unlock greed, which i got at A rank, you have to pound only greed when you see him. set your partner to option 5 so that he runs away and not kill the other opponent cuz if they do, then there's a less chance of getting the shield. just kill greed about 2 times and he should drop a shield. performing combos here would increase the chance of getting it. you only need one, fuse it wif lust's item which is really common in B/A rank. the ultimate halbert which is two spears forming a X kinda shape.

oh yes, the halberd i got many times already ^^
well, so far i got:

- greed's sunglasses x1
- Al's head x1
- Halberd x1
- Ed's automail (i guess, its under the halberd)
- Izumi's Tattoo
- All 4 Rank symbols

what to do with them? izumis tatto and hhalberd is clear, but what about the others? O_o

p.s. how to get cow arakawa? ^^

i think it's scar's sunglasses cuz i pound it out of scar. the cow is just a normal A rank item. it's hard to get at first but becomes commmon really soon. just play a few more times. armstrong scenario has to be unlocked and finished before cow can fuse. for armstrong statue beat armstrong in 1 player and sometimes he'll rop it. get 2 and fuse them. once you unlock that, unlock the cow for mustang scenartio wif an amusing ending and then try to rank up to S. then fuse knight chess wif queen chess to get level 4 and fuse 2 automail arms together to get silver watch. remember, there's only silver watch in S rank. Ouroboros which is common in S rank and fuse wif the watch making wrath. i think pride has to come first though.

got greeds shield and lusts halbert.. will fuse them now... :,3
am i remember right first comes greed, then izumi by fusing her tattoo and AL's head. right? ^^

yeah and then the 2 scenraios, S rank, level 4, pride and wrath. that's about it. the higher level you are, the harder it is to fuse. as you fuse nearly everything, most fusions won't work anymore. my omake section 1 is completed and my second one is near. my voice is complete and so it's really hard to fuse nowadays. so fuse more while you can.

yeah i just noticed that fusing the instruments is quite "hard" =/
anyway, got greed and izumi and now i hunt for the armstrong statues ^^

yeah, fusing intrsuments is hard... but so far i keep getting pics off of them... i was thinking some sort of bgm or something... so the other items don't really matter what you fuse them with? only these are important to unlock secrets?

well.. to get the voice thingie, you have to transmute the rank stripes of the same rank.. that way i got roy's voice

well, any idea on what the 3rd option at omake is? its still only ?????????? for me...

i unlocked greed and izumi, already got cows but when i try to transmute them, they fail. i also tried knight chess piece + queen chess piece but also failed. i'm already rank A. did i miss something? or do i need to unlock armstrong's secret scenario first before the cows?

yeah, getting those armstrong statues is kinda hard. i kept on going after him but he keeps dropping his stripes instead. but just keeping going after him and he'll eventually drop it. don't let your partner get to him.

to get the statue is easy, set your partner to option 5 (run away) and the other opponent should chase him while you fight armstrong. beat him up wif combos and you'll get at least 1 statue. i got 2 a few times in one round.

at rank a? strange, i only get this stripe thingie... @_@

the cards are useful too fro unlcoking bgm. (voices) i got my statues but doing combos. or maybe just kicking him into the air and before you lands kick him again like 3-4 times then for sure he'll drop it.

just keep hitting armstrong, rolfkaese. he'll eventually drop his statue. whenever my match invovled armstrong, i always go at him for the whole game. don't use alchemy, just combo attacks. just keep hitting him and keep him away from your partner.

so far, i got 4 but only got to pick up 2 since they were dropped a bit too high and ed couldn't reach them in time ^^;;

got so many instruments but still couldn't get any bgms... so, i combine cards with the intruments?

circle tape thing and any instrument for bgm mode unlock. try random rank cards wif other rank cards. you can get like 2-3 ppl's voice there.

oh, i already completed the character voices (except for bradley and wrath's). did you get the 3rd omake option? mine is still "??????"

I got this game a couple days ago and have been fooling around with it. It really is fun, but I noticed that if it wasn't for all the Royai goodies your guys mentioned i probably wouldn't have gotten it so quickly! Thanks for the spoilers!

I am not much into fighting games, and I noticed that I don't really like button mashers, I would like to know what I am doing. Does anyone one know if there was Japanese guide printed for this?

are you asking about the command list/combo button list?

well, during combat or even in practice mode, you can pause you game and a menu pops out. i think it's either the 3rd or 2nd to the last on the list is the command list where all of the character's combo moves are listed.

but basic commands (which i have lived and survived by) are: R1/R2 to dodge; circle button is alchemy or attack (if your character is an alchemist, i.e. Ed, just stand beside a transformable item in the background like a box or barrel, and press circle button to transmute), x is to kick, square button is also attack.

i'm not sure about the button commands, so if somebody could please correct me if i'm wrong.

SS rank is so hard to get, after SS rank i think there'll be nothing else to do. hopefully there's suddenly envy or sloth or something. this game is sad to end but every game has to end just like fma anime is gonna end soon. oh well, hope fma manga lasts longer. also, if they would make a sequel to this game, that'll be crazy good. maybe they could make it harder next time.

yeah, a sequel! narutomate heroes has a sequel, so why not dream carnival? (bandai also developed narutomate heroes)

yeah i also heard that the naruto 2 game is gonna be the best fighting game this year. fma:dc is already super good but that is just awesome. if there's a sequel to this game with like hohenheim and dante and the rest of the homunculi. this game is based on the anime for sure since the manga doesn't have the tiny wrath. it'll be good if there's like two prides. the fuhrer and the reborn of the _____. not spoiling here so yeah.

well, they did add a bit of the manga in DC... i mean barry the chopper was in Roy and Riza's ending :,3

well... what if the manga's pride is uber cool? hehe, put him in as a special character. and hohenheim would also be a good idea, and if dante joins the party, i'll be more than happy to kick her butt!! and also ling, lanfan and fu of the manga are uber cool, not to mention mei-chan. maybe they'll find a way to integrate the anime and manga?

The basic comands I figured out, but I ment the ones for the special attacks. But no guide huh? to bad there are usually nice character profiles and screen caps.

But things I noticed about this...Roy likes to stand in the water... especially when fighting Bradley. As Hawkeye I always found myself pushing him out, so he can use his fire!

And I didn't know Al knew Ryoma... Mada Mada Dane!

only roy has such weakness in this game... he also can't use the ice items in the background and so far, only riza gets weapons from breaking background items (for non-alchemist characters).

but wif out the water, he's like invincible. keep using flame and they can never escape.

true true... him and Al are great supports.

it's a bit difficult to control lust though, but her distance coverage is excellent. Izumi's special attack is powerful indeed, but her defenses are lousy. winry would usually stay away from the battle and use her bombs which often kills herself and her teammate... but use her when you're lazy. you won't have to fight, just plant bombs that explode on contact and whenever your enemy approaches you BAM! it's the waiting that sucks though.

guidebook? as in game guide? well, based from experience, guide books usually offer very little game art, more on small screencaps and a lot of text.

yeah, got the guide book for the first fma rpg game and it's mostly screenshots and 90% of a page is text. then like the cover and middle pages are art.

see? it's a great book if you understand japanese though. i used to buy books for the suikoden game. my friend bought GS3 game guide and was disappointed... there was very little art in it.

Yes, some game guides are like that, but this is a fighting game, not a rpg. So I am hoping for more pictures, button commands and alchemy table for unlocking things.

My Shaman King fighting game guides have some artwork, a LOT of screen caps and nice clear button commands for all special moves. But either way, I get a nice cover. (even though I already have it.. same as the game itself!)
