Kase: Lucky you!

Although I think it takes more work to look for scanlations

I probably buy the manga because 1. it's licensed anyway 2.I like "owning" it if it's good 3. I'm too lazy to read scanlations 4. I don't really like reading on my computer anyway
So I end up poor

I saw Under the Glass Moon at the shop

All three volumes. Silly me, I miss
everything
I glanced at it, but I don't know... I have to rethink it since I already have my mind set on purchasing other titles:P (and continuing those I've started collecting)
anime_mang_fan: You didn't manage to get Tsubasa? I somehow always see it around

I suppose it's popular so it shouldn't be that difficult to find.

Kihaku:

I feel that way too, about owning things if I really like it, but unfortunately money always forms a problem with me. >__< That and I hate to see things get worn down after some time because of me reading it.

;; Silly, I know, but I cringe everytime I see the worn cover of a volume I've read recently or
FAKE's dents where I accidentally dropped it against the edge of a table... T__T I always want things to stay nice and neat. Really silly.
Oh, you've seen it? All three of them? I haven't been able to find the third volume anywhere, but... I'm not really sure if I really want it.

It's all because of my favorite character's stupid haircut. The mangaka suddenly decided she didn't want hs hair long anymore so she cut it. ARGH, it looks horrible now! T.T
Hehe, but I understand you would be reluctant about buying it since you generally prefer 'cuter' stuff, right? ^^;; This is a complete opposite, really. But it's fun and I love Luka. XD Muwahaha.

Kase: yeah, I know what you mean with the worn covers.. I don't care about library mangas, but mine... and my friends'(for some reason that hurts more)
And still I like carrying them around... *sighs* Of course they'll get damaged then

And lending them isn't any problem with me either...
Money.... I was just calculating how much money I'd need to buy all I want.. well it exeeds what I earn by a lot..

And I do by other thing besides manga..
Oh yes, cuter stuff

You must have been reading my mind again. I thought that Under the Glass Moon didn't look "cute" enough for me

Well not exactly, but I suppose you know what I mean. Even though I'm a fan of both cute and dark themes. It really depends. If I look at my "favourite manga" list. On top comes shonen.. then shoujo:dark/cute.. then cute...then dark...then.... It's funny/wierd really

Nizuko: You could always PM us to give the links, since.. well most of Clamp is licensed.

Jan 7 2005, 08:58 AM
Yes, yes, carrying them around has almost become a habit, because I really like to read them over and over... but sometimes I just want to have them close by, like putting them down on my nightstand when I go to bed.

So silly, again, but I can't help it.
Wohohoh~ X3 You'd better wrap tin-foil around your head because I have no control over my mind-power whatsoever~

Actually it was pretty obvious, since I have been reading every single one of your posts, you know?

Especially the ones in "Anime/manga Pairings". They give great insight.

Oh, drat, I forgot about them being licensed. ^^;; Sooorry~

Ahh, sorry for the weird Grammar!
I meant that I liked peach Girl a whole lot until it finished....ie: I finished reading Peach Girl. (I bought all the volumes till a certain pt)=proof I liked it quite a bit....But then I hit a broke phase and settled by reading them in the bookstore (evil, I know)

Nizuko: I came across that site a couple of days ago when I was on my Tsubasa search....I think the links to the zip files were down, but maybe its ok now...
Anywho, after some searching I was able to download their translations...(I'm very happy to find other CLAMP lovers here)

blueices: No worries.. I read your post again.. I'm soo dumb

You read the rest of Peach Girl at the store?

I got the first three from the library and really wanted to read the rest. Just not enough to buy then. I was afarid I'd be disapointed with how the story would turn out to be

. I really loathed Sae and Momo's and Toji's relationship just didn't seem meant to be. She fits so much better with Kylie.

Hmm.. you liked it until it finished? You didn't like it after that? Was the ending bad?

I actually bought the first 10, but I didn't buy the other 8 (or 9) because I was broke.
The first half's images are mirrored but the second half (which I didn't buy

was actually in the original format...which I prefer) They called the second half "Peach Girl: Change of Heart for some odd reason.
Anywho:
Kihaku, you've only read the first 3??
Keep going (even if you pull a Blue and read them in the store
)
It gets really ...um...Juicy
I stuck with it to the end and I liked it very much
What I meant before is not that I like it less, its just that Naruto sort of took over my life...hehe
I actually just gave the part of the series I own a re-read (Kylie is so hot!)
[Blue starts reminiscing]
I know its would never happen but in the first vol. when Toji slammed Kylie against the wall, I suddenly thought that they would look really really good together...::hanyan:::
Kihaku
Jan 14 2005, 01:00 PM
Ooh.. it gets better then? And the end.. it's not... bad...?
If Momo ends up with Toji and Kylie with no one.. I'll get mad.
I wish I could read them at the store.. *feels very ashamed of herself* but that doesn't work around here. Not in the store that sells them anyway.... and it's such a long series. I'd have to buy it. *sighs*. I will give it some thought though

Yeah, pity that Peach Girl isn't shonen-ai

. Kylie and Toji would look so cute together.... I don't really mind if Momo is without a guy. Sorry Momo

Ragnarok by Myung Jin Lee
I like the Mythical Detective Loki also...in fact, if it includes Loki, I probably like it....one American comic included(this is like a big deal because I think American comics should be recycled to print Japanese comics)....
This be the Loki from Ragnarok:

Ooh.. I feel kind of dumb.

But i was wondering which Ragnarok.. you were talking about.. Isn't that the one licensed by Tokyopop?
Unless that's something different too..
Ooh Loki looks so scary...

Quite different from the other cute Loki.
Although I think scary woulkd fit his character better.. not that I'm really familiar with the mythology..
luciferownsme
Jan 22 2005, 02:16 PM
Yeah Ragnarok that's liscenced by Tokyopop...though technically speaking it's a Manwha, being Korean and not Japanese. (Manga, manwha, manhua....gets confusing after a while...oh well) There's also a different Ragnarok manga that's about a dude named Leroy but I only have Japanese volume one which I can't figure out enough of to say anything concrete.
I'm a mythology nut. I can recite every single myth involving Loki from memory, like the one where he crossdresses! *easily amused* I despise Greek mythology. I would read Chinese mythology, but that's quite impossible in english as Chinese name to English letters is pretty much impossible.... My CHinese name sounds nothing like Karmen, but that's how it come out somehow. I'm really into Egyptian mythology too. *all Yu-Gi-Oh!'s fault*

Loki crossdresses? No wonder my bro commented that Loki (in MLR) looks like a school girl!

I thought it was just "normal" clothing... He didn't like the series that much.. because he got the idea that it "raped" the mythology.. I wouldn't know if he's right.

Yeah here's the myth recited from memory as my mom rearranged my books shelf and I really don't know where my beloved mythology book is. I can't spell any names aside from Loki, Odin, all the important people...
Well, A giant stole Thor's hammer and held it for ransom for the marriage Freya(whom he's never seen but was told was very pretty). Thor, being the somewhat singleminded man he is, was all for giving Freya away, but Freya was in such dismay that she yelled so loudly she managed to scare everyone away including Loki and Odin. So, later meeting in a different part of Asgard, all the male gods discussed what to do. Loki(some mythbooks say Heimdall thought it up) comes up with the brilliant plan to dress Thor up as Freya to get Mjolnir back. Since nobody could think of a better plan, Thor agreed and dragged Loki along. And so they crossdressed, Thor as Freya and Loki as a maid. Loki, for some reason being able to sound like a woman better than Thor(I guess it's cuz he's a shapeshifter), explained about why "Freya" was so huge and manly and eating her weight in food at the wedding banquet. The giant, having never seen Freya before, decided that Loki's explanation that it was because Freya was nervous she was eating a lot was a logical explanation. "Freya" was given Mjolnir in order to bless the wedding. At that point Thor grabbed it and promptly killed the giant.
And there you have it... Loki has crossdressed....he's also given birth to something too(Sleipnir) so he's kinda androgynous at times....
Mantantei Loki Ragnarok doesn't really follow much about Norse mythology... Kinda like how Spica/Angrboda gets herself cursed and all to be with Loki. Mythologically speaking, Sigyn was Loki's faithful wife on account she still tries to help Loki even after he got all tied up for killing Balder and all.

I don't worry so much about how exactly and anime/manga follows the mythology. It wouldn be kind of boring if I knew everything in advance(not that I know anyway). If the basic/most important elements are there, it's pretty much enough to get me interested!
