what happened to the deathnote manga thread?
xrninja
Dec 12 2004, 02:33 PM
http://www.fullmetal-alchemist.com/forums/...63&hl=deathnoteout of the list above i'd say fruits basket. i looove the manga art and the characters =) i've wanted to read deathnote, though, because raito and L look like cool characters and the mangaka (the name escapes me at the moment) did a great job with hikaru no go. even if the hokuto cup ended badly.

For some reason I'm not too picky about manga. Almost everything I've read is good.
Kihaku
Dec 13 2004, 11:34 AM
Hmm... same with me. Whatever I find in the library or can get from friends..I read.

When it comes to buying though... well then I can be a bit picky or start worrying about my money, but sometimes that isn't even a barrier

.
hmm... from those options I chose Fruits Basket. I've read very little of it, but I've seen the anime and I really love the story and characters.

Kihaku
Dec 22 2004, 03:25 AM
Oh Peach Girl is
very soap opera-ish

. A lot of being in denial and an annoying "enemy" messing around with the relationships(as if they aren't that already)....
I've read the first few volumes and I rather liked it and I really love the art too. So very shoujo
Like I said/wrote before.. I voted Fruits Basket in the poll. Glad I did actually, becuase now I've read the first volume and I totally love it!
My favourite manga is still Dragon Ball... but I wonder how Fruits Basket will rank on my list? I have to do some serious reconsideration

furuba is awesome. i just got volume 3, so now i have 1-5, and i love it XD the artwork, the story, the animals...i mean, hot guys that turn into cute animals. so much girl appeal. and the story line seems to be getting deeper, thanks to akito the sadistic asshole
Kihaku
Dec 22 2004, 04:53 AM
I'm hoping to get more of Fruits Basket soon...
I've heard so many good things about it and even though I'm a little too much aware of the story I'm still excited to read more
For some reason I'm disliking Akito already even thoug I don't know much about that character..

I'm glad that the character caused the story to deepen. I love strories like that! And Fruits Basket seems to me like one with a great load of potential!

I think InuYasha is the best manga/anime ever created. The next I liked was Ranma 1/2 and Kenshin wandering samuri. Those ar the good ones. Dragon Knights is cool, good for fantasy lovers, but Inuyasha is the best ever.

From the list, I chose Fruits Basket (mmm... good 'ol Fruits Basket).
...But, if you had other titles on the list like Saiyuki, Fullmetal Alchemist, Yami no Matsuei, Immortal Rain, Rurouni Kenshin, Naruto, Zettai Kareshi, Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden, etc. I would probably drive myself crazy trying to pick just one! @_@

Immortal Rain is pretty Good, so is Dragon Knights and Fushigi Yuugi. You should have put them on the poll.

Argh.. I have many favourites myself.. and more and more start becoming my favourites.. the list just grows

definingmind: Which Ragnarok do you mean? The one based on the game or the one based on the mythology?
Sorry if I sound dumb:P
Initial D... didn't interest me.. but I hope to finally get through the first volume...since I have the chance.

Kihaku
Jan 3 2005, 05:45 AM
Nizuko: So exactly!

And it's really hard when you're poor..

At least I haven't been kicked out of the shop

My friend once read an enitre manga at the shop... they weren't very nice about that though... after all they want us to
buy the books

Hmm.. actually I did that once too, but it was another shop... I guess it depends. In Germany it seems to be alowed

Hmm.. I own quite a lot of manga...way over 100 gathered in the past two years

Drat.. now I'm starting to think how much money I spent on them *hits head*
Since Kase is doing it, I will too

So my favourite manga (in order....Nizuko, if I listed
all the manga I've read.. that would be
horrible... The favourites are bad enough:P
DragonBall Yu-gi-oh! / One Piece Yami no Matsuei Gravitation / Fake Eerie Queerie(Ghost) Fruits Basket FMA Fushigi Yuugi / D.N.Angel Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo Count Cain(God Child) Ranma 1/2 Videogirl Ai/ DNA^2 Argh.. and I still left out many I love.. *sighs*

"Way over 100"...? Da~ang~
Oh, I forgot
Under the Glass Moon... >.> I like it enough to add to my list, but... ugh. =P
Kihaku
Jan 3 2005, 07:17 AM
Yeah.... as in volumes, not different types of manga serieses (now that would be freaky

). And yeah... my poor money... No wonder people say that I keep on wasting it... Somehow the books just keep on coming...
Under the Glass Moon? Ooh, where did you read/get that?
Omakase Shimasu
Jan 3 2005, 07:34 AM
Ooh, you meant volumes!

While you've still got way more than me, it's better than 100+ manga.
Oh, you've heard of
Under the Glass Moon (Manwa!)?

I got it from a store in Rotterdam, which gets their merchandised shipped from the States, so it's all in English.
TokyoPop licensed it, so if you're interested in buying it, that's the online store you need to check out.
Kihaku
Jan 3 2005, 09:05 AM
I've got more manga than you?

Now I'm scared...
Under the Glass Moon has been licensed by Tokyopop? I don't understand why I haven't seen it then.. I have to go and check it out at the shops again!

(Like I haven't spent enough money already

)
Omakase Shimasu
Jan 3 2005, 01:46 PM

It shouldn't be that surprising, since I mostly get my manga via scanlations before they get licensed. And everybody knows how lazy I am when it comes to doing stuff.

Hmm, well, the cover's kinda inconspicious if you're not paying real attention to it, I guess. All dark... The fonts is quite lovely though and pretty big, in white which
does stand out what with the black background.

But seeing it's only 3 volumes... OK, I don't know what I wanted to say exactly.
