Morgan Douglas Jones was arrested on kidnapping charges when Saddie "Elaine" Julian, just 14 years old, ran away with him on a trip from Boise, Idaho to Franklin County, Washington. That's where Jones was ultimately arrested and Julian was recovered safely. According to police detectives, the two had met in World of Warcraft. Jones is 27 years old and apparently the police get all uptight about you transporting girls half your age across state lines.

An Amber Alert was issued for Julian last week, but authorities caught up with the two alleged WoW fans earlier today. Incidentally, Jones was driving a 2008 Chevy Aveo with the license plate OMGROFL. True story.

I would be disappointed if it does get overturned. I mean, really--one of the largest metropolitan areas in the state is San Francisco. That city isn't only known for the Golden Gate Bridge. Then again, it wouldn't be the first time that I was exasperated by how votes in my state turned out. (Remember Super Tuesday? -__-" )

"I honestly believed that if you shoot somebody, that they would get back up," Ramsey told ABC News in a recent interview at the Arizona prison where he is serving a 210-year sentence. It's hard to accept, he admits, but Ramsey said his naivete left him unable to grasp that firing a gun in the real world is different from firing one in a video game: "I didn't realize that you shoot somebody, they die."

Hahaha.... what a touchy subject it must have been for the 15-year old girl to pick up the litter, oh well, luckily I live farther away from the center of my hometown so I won`t have to bother with the police bugging me, ever. Tough I wonder what kind of mental state these people have to be in to attack the police like that over such a little thing? Dunno whether they thought, that the police over reacted about the thing, but violence was hardly called for there.

Oh well, the system will make the little punk pay for her arrogance and that`s sure to look nice on your personal file when applying for school or job.

Very A little late, but I had to laugh at it: I live in Franklin county, Washington. Well, it's actually called Benton-Franklin county here, but I believe it is still a relevant coincidence.

I agree, but at the same time, I think it's mostly the odds of it actually occurring is what makes it crazy.

Then again, I just read an analyst's article saying that Apple's planning a distribution deal with Wal-Mart - that to me is pretty crazy, but probably not for the next guy.

So this news has been brewing for about a day now, maybe a day and a half;
http://www.comicvine.com/news/incarnate-ac...giarism/140505/
Son of Rock Dinosaur Gene Simmons, Nick (famous for being son of Gene and unknown for his actual career) was recently called out for plagiarising BLEACH and possibly Hellsing.
Naturally numerous questions have been raised such as:
Why Bleach, How can he deny such obvious theft and the most asked question of all: Gene Simmons son makes a comic!?

The publishers of his amazingly mediocre comic have shelved it until they investigate the accusations further.

Nick had the following to say on his facebook:
"Who would name their comic after a detergent?"

More links will be added as and if I feel like it:

@Popo: i didn't know that, but like Kubo said "More than whether his comic looks like mine, I'm intrigued by the fact that Gene Simmons' son is a manga artist." XD this news got out fast it was posted on the 21st

^ This "incident" intrigues me, and I'm inclining to make this into a discussion thread, either for a discussion on plagiarism in general (i.e. expanding the discussion scope to literature, journalism & such also) and open it in Debate District forum, or open it in General Manga forum for narrower scope and limiting the discussion to plagiarism in manga, (but possibly also allow discussions in "Fanart"/doujin manga where there is a very thin line between plagiarism and imitation by admiration, etc.??) ..if OP and/or others would like the idea of making this into a separate discussion thread?? Solicits inputs on "spliting" this topic. smile.gif
ScarMySoul
I think you should move it to the Manga section of the General Forum, so everyone can see what's going on. Its actually a pretty serious thing that he did and it goes to show plagerism is just to writing but very much so with artwork. A lot of us have experienced our art stolen before, Chiyo being on of them on deviantart....

Rather tragic, seeing Mr. Heselden seemed to have been a nice fellow, and he bought the company only last December.

I am confident that many of you have already seen this news item as it is now a few days old, but just on the off chance that this may be new to some of the populace I decided to post it anyhow. This little incident occurred a few blocks from where I am currently working in Downtown (although I was elsewhere at the time). I find it amazing that no one noticed the police vehicle until it was too late.

A Pierrot's Aria
This really is crazy! laugh.gif Now, I personally can't stand the Daily Mail publication, but I got linked to this story by my sister's fiancÚ.

You could be in for a shock today: Astrologers say Ophiuchus should become the 13th sign of the zodiac

For Scientific reasons detailed in the article, a change in Zodiac dates has occurred...so apparently, if you're in the East you could actually be a completely different star-sign; "Most who thought they were Virgo are actually Leo" etc laugh.gif

If they decide to make this official everywhere rather than just in the East (I have no idea how they're going to be working all this out, if at all! xD) people like myself, who fall into the Nov 30th - Dec 17th band, would have a completely different star-sign all together- the new (as of yet unofficial) 13th Zodiac, Ophiuchus.

I don't believe in horoscopes, personally, but I thought it was pretty interesting and crazy. tongue.gif

A Pierrot's Aria
^laugh.gif Yeah, it is pretty weird and probably hard to accept. But don't worry, there's no guarantee it will become official (and you're lucky...no change for you. wink.gif ). But I think there's quite a likelihood of it changing for all those people who believe in and follow horoscopes, because to them using the old dates would be like using the wrong "data".

I like being Sagittarius though...but hey, if the changed are implemented, the article suggests that it would only affect the East. wink.gif We'll just have to wait and see. Either way, It won't bother me because I don't really believe in horoscopes tongue.gif laugh.gif
