Ed and Winly seem most appropriate, but Ed and Rose would be a close second, imo. Then, maybe, Izumi, even though she's married, and about 15-20 years older. Other than that...well, Ed just doesn't seem like the kinda guy to attach himself to someone.

sorry guys i went with ed x roze, i don't know why but that coupling just grows on me more and more everytime i watch the series, as for non-het pairings i would go with ed x havok....i mean havok deserves someone.....

In the anime, Ed and Al are reminiscing about their childhoods, and one of the things mentioned is them debating over who gets to marry Winly...So...yeah, it may just be childhood banter, but if ever there was supposed to be a pairing, that would be it.

Plus, Winly's no one to be snuffed at, looks-wise

i saw a multi-chaptered fic somewhere on the fm_alchemist lj community awhile back where tucker and ed switched bodies....i didn't last through it long enough to find out if there was any tucker/ed, though, because the tucker-in-ed's-body/envy scene scared me away XP i think it was called "changed for good"?

Those two switching bodies is flat-out creepy. And Envy mixed up in it all = not good. Envy mixed up in anything generally isn't good. (Is everybody a part of the LJ community or what??)

I couldn't help myself regarding the official manga though. Tucker and his shady eyes...
