Damn, close tie between Nina and our good friend Lt. Col. Hughes... sob! I miss them both!!! (Ended up choosing Hughes... *how* he died was much more tragic than poor Nina... I'd rather have my head blown up by a "friendly stranger" than be fighting for my life and end up being killed by someone who looks like someone I love...)

hughes death was definatly most tragic, although nina comes second.

I believe that Hughes death was tragic...But I greieved over Scar's death also...

U forgot Edward Elric!! But he DID come back, but his death was so sad I cried TxT

But for this I would say Major Hughes, he didn't derserve to die, he had a family...

I'd go for greed, he was my favorite character.

I voted Lust since she was so cool, and I really didn't want her to die. I still say [spoiler]Edward's[/spoiler] death was the worst though, him and Greed.

I guess all that blood, and life leaving his eyes was all fake just to make Envy happy. I know he comes back, but God it was bad seeing it.

Hughes's death was tragic, but i kind of saw it coming. He was the most loveable character in the series, so his death would pack the most punch.
But actually Greed is my favorite death. Before that he seems to be this indestructible ass beating everyone. His death seems tragic because he was forced into a corner. His friends were all killed and his plan was ruined. He knew that the other homunculi would hunt him down, and he had to make them pay some how. Then Ed comes. He knows that the best way to end things is to die, and in this helping Ed so that he can carry on the fight.
I think the one moment that shows Greed is actually good is when Ed kills him and then he asks where Al is. Greed just smiles and says, "He's in the forest. I let him go." This tells me he never intended to hurt Al at all.

Of course Greed was a homunculus, so of course he was going to die. The most shocking death in the series for me would have been Nina - that one was a big kick in the gut.

IMO, Greed's death is the most tragic...at least Sloth is reunited with Izumi after he died...

it was hard between Nina(Alexander) and Hughes but i voted for Hughes they both died hard and wheres the deaths of Ed(when Envy killed him) and Al from Shambala

Like a lot of other people I was torn between Hughes and Nina..

I voted for Nina though, because well.. when you're in the military, there's already a risk of you being killed, and Nina didn't die in a very.. "common" way.. I wasn't as upset about her death as I was about her being turned into a chimera by her own father, though.
