Found a scan on Baidu, which has the info about the artbook and the FMA Chronicle:
(For translations of the page, scroll down to Tombow's post below.)

According to Amber1003's journal, a new guidebook will be released, in which "Arakawa Hiromu talks about anything and everything."

Also, a 3rd artbook is coming out next year in April!
(For discussions on upcoming new FMA artbook, please go to New FMA artbook thread. smile.gif)

If it's true, I'll be very happy, I can't wait for these books to come out! biggrin.gif
Kasumisty
Yeah, finally an actual manga artbook! Will definately buy it. It may be costy, though.
Ama-ri
I was jumping around in circles, when I read ambers Journal entry. I'll definetely buy this. This just made my day. Yay. Maybe I could get this for my birthday (21st March) mhh. Would be the most awesome birthday present someone could make me.

QUOTE
I tried translating of the caption of "Fullmetal Alchemist Chronicle".

A book that Hiromu Arakawa talks anything and everything.
This is a corpus guidebook which has gorgeous dialogue and a huge amount of manga and scenes which hasn't been appeared anywhere, also it takes a retrospective review of all chapters which is the track of brothers' journey.
We are earnestly making all necessary arrangements!

Oh God, I'm so looking forward to it now o_o
A Pierrot's Aria
Oh wow, cool! So we're basically getting "deleted scenes", so to speak? biggrin.gif (That's how I understood it, anyway!)
Kasumisty
Yeah, I understand it so as well (as the chapters being too long and needed to be shortened). Or the earlier/alternative versions of some scenes. I'm so excited to see these.
Michiyo-
Wow, that's great to hear that they'll publish "deleted scenes"! I can't wait for this book to come out! biggrin.gif

mellulah
Oh Lord I so wish they translate this book into English now, or that someone has the charity to translate at least the deleted scenes. I wonder if they have story boards from the Ling/Ranfan vs Envy/Gluttony fight that was never included in the anime. Ohh and I wonder if we get to see Bradley meeting his wife or Marias time in Xing.
RoyxRizaFan
*hope this isn't a repeat thread*

I found some interesting information in amber1003's journal:

http://amber1003.deviantart.com/journal/36250171/

"A book that Hiromu Arakawa talks anything and everything.
This is a corpus guidebook which has gorgeous dialogue and a huge amount of manga and scenes which hasn't been appeared anywhere, also it takes a retrospective review of all chapters which is the track of brothers' journey."

And apparently an art book is coming out in March 2011 as well!
Tombow

Tombow
Thank you so much, Michiyo- for posting the scanned page of the original GanGan promo! I was so hoping someone would post the scan of the source page so that I can see what amber1003 meant in her LiveJournal entry. ^^

Scanned page posted by Michiyo- above.

The following is my translation of the scanned ad for the "Fullmetal Alchemist Chronicle" smile.gif

Left side of the scanned GanGan mag pages is the ad for this book, and it says:
QUOTE
Fullmetal Alchemist Chronicle (tentative title)
Scheduled Release Date: Early Summer, 2011!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In this book, Hiromu Arakawa tells us everything there is in her manga series, "Fullmetal Alchemist."
The book contains great interviews, as well as numerous panels of "cut" scenes from FMA manga that were never in print before.
Readers of this complete guidebook will experience the Elric brothers' journey all over again, as the book takes a retrospective review of the full chapters of the series. ...This guidebook is in production, now!!
Coming Soon
More info on this book in GanGan magazine, or on Square Enix site later, as such info becomes available.

Can't wait to read it!! biggrin.gif
RoyxRizaFan
Is it weird that I'm a ton more interested in Hirumu Arkawa's interests and retrospective reviews than the deleted scenes?? Of course I'm insanely excited to see those as well, but the writer in me really wants to hear Arakawa's complete and final thoughts on the series (besides the shorter interviews that have already been translated)

I wish I spoke Japanese more than EVER now. I'd have enough trouble waiting for it to come out in Japan, and now I have to wait to see if they even bother to bring it to the US *dies from suspense*
Pyroclasm
Oh wow. This sounds AWESOME! I can't wait until we get to see it!
shanryelric
OH MY GOD I AM HAPPY I SPEAK JAPANESE!! I'm soooo looking forward for this book!! wawawawawa I'm gonna broke for sure but who cares!
onigiri_girl
OMG! I am so excited hearing this news! Somehow I have a feeling that Arakawa will tell us more about Royai's in the upcoming FMA Chronicles! Yipeee! smile.gif
gretchen8642
any word on this being released on amazon.co.jp or yesasia yet?
A Pierrot's Aria
^Nothing as of yet as far as I know. If I am to guess I'd say that they may start appearing late this month or early next month.
Tombow
More info on upcoming FMA Chronicle, from GanGan ad scan posted on Baidu, thanks to hiraly's post here. smile.gif

On the left side page it says "Fullmetal Alchemist Chronicle" is coming out on Friday, July 1, 2011!!
It's in production (assuming "editing" stage) now and more details will be announced later on GanGan magazine.

Larger scan of the right side page, from Baidu

On this page, on left side it says "Fullmetal Alchemist Chronicle" will show everything about Fullmetal Alchemist, and it will contain long post-conclusion interview with Arakawa-sensei, comics and drawings that were not included in volume books, and more.

On the right side it says
Point 1: Arakawa-sensei will talk-out on FMA!!
There will be a long post-conclusion interview with Arakawa-sensei, in which she talks about the upbringings (Note: can't tell if this is on her upbringings, or how FMA became the series...), behind-the scene stories of Fullmetal Alchemist productions, secrets on some of the FMA characters while they become FMA characters, her thoughts on FMA as she looks back now, etc., plus other interviews.

Point 2: Get to know everything about "FMA"!!
The book will look back the whole story of Fullmetal Alchemist, and explains important keywords, characters, and shows famous scenes and quotes to explain the story. Also talks about "Father", mystery of "Gate/Door of Truth", and some words on the post conclusion story.

Point3: Read all "FMA" mamga!!
The book will include FMA comics from "Book in figure Red" & "Book in figure Blue", and also include gaiden "Flame Alchemist" plus "4-koma" manga, and new FMA comics (4-koma?) by Arakawa-sensei for this book, total of over 130 FMA manga pieces in 150 pages!!
Kirara
I am definitely going to buy this when it comes out in July but ack I know it will be frustrating not to be able to understand half the stuff in the book.

Still it is wonderful to get some of those extra Gaiden's (that now I only have saved on my computer).

The artbook is finally out but now I can't wait for this too (I just hope it doesn't come with any exclusive prizes so I can just order it from the cheaper Yes Asia) LOL
A Pierrot's Aria
On the journal FirstMoon posted on the movie info thread, I noticed that Amber1003 had also mentioned that the release date for "Fullmetal Alchemist Chronicles" has been pushed to July 29th, instead of its original July 1st release date. ohmy.gif (At least, that's how I understood it!)

If so, hopefully there'll be some sort of scan or something. happy.gif
Kirara
Ah that is probably why I have not been seeing pre-orders up for it anywhere yet. Too bad!
Tombow
Thank you, A Pierrot's Aria and FirstMoon for catching the news! And, thank you Amber1003 for the news! biggrin.gif

According to Amber, this news is from this month's GanGan mag (July issue).

With Japan still in the recovery process, I'm not surprised (although the delay maybe from entirely other reasons xp).
Anyway, we have lots of FMA related things coming up in June & July, so the wait may not be as painful.. I hope. ^^
Pyroclasm
Aww... It's too bad it's been pushed back. :< We'll just have to wait a little while longer...
Dark-Winds
It's too bad that the date got pushed back. But we have so many FMA things to look forward to that I don't really mind smile.gif
Michiyo-
There was an ad in the July issue of Gangan posted by hilary here.

According to it, the book's size will be A5, it'll have 400 pages, the price is 1995 Yen.
It will include the FMA manga Protype as well, besides the other gaidens.

I wonder what that "Big News" at the bottom of the scan will be. ^^

ETA: June 11.
It's up for pre-order on amazon.jp
Fullmetal Alchemist Chronicle

ETA: June 15.

A Pierrot's Aria
I really like this cover! Thank you for sharing it, Tombow! biggrin.gif

Michiyo-
Thank you, Tombow! biggrin.gif
I like the cover, it looks like Al will be on the back side.
Btw, I noticed that Ed's eye color looks similar to his MiloStar eyes. ^^

Here's the hi-res version of the cover, if anyone is interested:
Tombow
Thank you, Michiyo- for high res cover pic! ^^

Yeah, Ed's eyes are very golden. biggrin.gif
And, I just realized that there is Al in the background also, and that white thing is Al's "plume" XDD I want to see the whole pic. (I assume we'll see it inside the book. ^^)
Kirara
Oh Nice Picture of Ed. Btw does that look like Al is on there too? Maybe on the back cover. I just see some gray that is a different color from Ed's automail.

I wish Chronicles would include 11.5 too but I guess we won't be that lucky!

edit: Oops reading the comments more carefully it looks like Michiyo beat me about Al. smile.gif
Michiyo-
I've found the full cover of FMA Chronicle here.

It looks great. ^^

Also, here's an ad from a magazine:

-The ad and linked YahooJP article say the book includes gaiden "Simple People" from Book in figure Red, gaiden "His Battle Once More" from Book in figure Blue, gaiden "Flame Alchemist" (newly edited), FMA Rough Sketch Gallery, comic "Delusional Alchemist", FMA Prototype story (the one that was in July 2011 issue of GanGan), Ushigoya "toilet" 4-koma comics, additional new comic newly written/drawn for this book, interviews, message from Rumiko Takahashi, etc. etc. etc. ^^ ~ Tombow
Tombow
Thank you, Michiyo-! biggrin.gif (Added the info on the ad ^^)

I like it, and I'm glad the cover has Al also!

Can't wait to see this one! biggrin.gif
im_juice_lee
Seeing all of that is getting me excited. I really hope Viz (or some other company) brings it to the US.
A Pierrot's Aria
Wow! That full cover looks incredible. I love it! Every time I see Arakawa's art I always feel like drawing and painting. Thank you for sharing it with us, Michiyo-! And thank you, Tombow, for telling us what the ad says! hug.gif
Michiyo-
I just checked Gangan Online, and found lots of info on FMA Chronicle, including interviews with Arakawa:

(Btw, if anybody didn't know. Google Chrome automatically translates foreign language text to English - it works great with Spanish and French but is only so-so with Japanese. So, it's possible to read rough translations of some of the text.)

LOL, I guess I don't have to translate then. tongue.gif Everyone, please use Google Chrome (or any on-line translators). laugh.gif
im_juice_lee
The problem is that alot of the text is in images, so Chrome can't translate that - it can only translate "regular" text. For those who don't have chrome, don't want to use it, or whatever, here's the text that was translated: (it's formatted alot nicer in Chrome btw)

"JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" is a comic who's courage
Arakawa
Mr. Araki's work is "visitor Bao" and let me read from. Of course, "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" (hereinafter: "JoJo") and Imashi favorite book ever since the first part to be. It's nice to meet you today. Thank you very much!
Araki
Wow! If not for reading such a long time, I am happy. Thank you!
Arakawa
When I was a child, my sister, "Shonen Jump" and Imashi buy. Is a casually picked had piled up in the barn, just "JoJo" I posted the first episode was the issue. Farm equipment and you put, I read off the deep end in a dim room.
Araki
It's a mood (laughs).
Arakawa
It was double the fear. Does no longer defy! Situation was (laughs). I was a child at the time, and manager how to stir, "I want a stand over this" noisy Dali (laughs). Upon seeing you, and now, again "for me" Jojo "and appeal of" I think I, and not just me courage too.
Araki
"Fullmetal Alchemist" (hereinafter: "steel") is attractive I'll be there. As you read, you are me think about the origin of man. Through the alchemy system, to continue to pursue nature and mechanics of the human world. "Oh!" What I thought.
Arakawa
Wow, thank you! That, when considering the origin of man "What would courage and pride?" I think part of it is 外Senai. Go there and "JoJo" characters of pride and everyone is friendly enemies, live hard. "Appare" I think. ... Especially that Iggy, the dog was doing when the cry Kuchakucha the gum ...? After, you really get to the scene of a cigarette upside Lisa Lisa, It is good to be a blur of Stroheim. True, I also love any character.
Araki
Is is not (laughs). Value of Stroheim's like body armor other half of the machine. "Steel" It's not even the world of discomfort. I "steel" in Armstrong I prefer. Such person being a serious hobby is running like. Scene and posing with the signature Mukitsu especially fun. Conversely, the scene is painful Al crumble. Mark disappears, the blood on the cover of something ... I think that chat and suspense.
Arakawa
I'll kick the cover story (laughs).
"Elric" is dangerous! Manga world of '70s boy-'80
Arakawa
"JoJo" Speaking of another appeal, I think there are words peculiar turn. "JoJo's Bizarre poem card game," but I sink in the workplace or the CD, "JoJo" being able to recite the assistant why I do not have to read that.
Araki
It's great (laughs). I "fight or why" or, motivation and reasoning are not aware I, the buzz words you try this, and I 泣Kaseyou the reader around that I do not think so. So enjoy and I am happy to say so.
Arakawa
In everyday life, unconsciously, "JoJo" It is not there can make a speech of. Dr. Araki is more than I probably come, I think that is flesh and blood readers. 宿Tta work and I'm a strong power of language's it.
Araki
However, because the horror elements work that uses foul language even dare to think ... What is bad is a beautiful part of tea I have just drawn. "Black and White", "good and evil," "beauty and ugliness," while keeping in mind it is drawing the big picture things like, well 踏Mi込Mou to Saqqez Guess part of the human, and more.
Arakawa
The more.
Araki
But I, for thus I do not Moraeta admitted 10 years after the start of the series. At the time the foreign stage, foreign investors set up a hero is not difficult and it is said. Chau I dropped in the planning stage editing. Yeah, I do at that time I was cocky, too. There is also a desire to try and jinx the boys' comic such rules. "Jump" is the basic principle of "friendship winning effort," even if you observe, and it's good European writing.
Arakawa
Moreover, the entrance of the story is I'll Aztecs.
Araki
Too difficult to understand (laughs)!
Arakawa
- No, like I love the occult, but are already dying.
Araki
Also strange saga of the system, in the world of comics at the time said I was not hit. Happened to me and the editors backed such world like ... "JoJo" will be serialized in Moraeta I think that's a miracle. So "steel" for "Elric" naming it the time it was pretty dangerous Dattara (laughs).
Arakawa
Is not the pop it (laughs).
Araki
I decided that I Sunnari around?
Arakawa
Enix (now Square Enix) company since the game was smooth and I think that point. I assume the reader familiar with the RPG, rather, that you might find it and naming the scent of fantasy.
Araki
What is likely. I'm the times have changed.

"Pounding boy," the memoirs of their debut
- Safe, "Fullmetal Alchemist" (hereinafter: "Steel") has completed a?
Okubo
Cheers for good work!
Kindaichi
Series ending cheers for good work! The long journey was accompanied by Al and Ed read as much from the first round. At the end of a great journey is absolutely filled with gratitude! Thank you for the wonderful cartoon boy!
Fujishiro
拝読 end we have fun. I would have been told ad nauseam, I hope his next.
Arakawa
(Laughs). Thank you.
- First of all, Could you tell us about the interaction of you had?
Arakawa
Set to debut around the same time, let me even serialized in the same magazine, I'll actually have a chance to meet is not pretty.
Fujishiro
Indeed. Once a year, you meet at a party ... It is about the editorial.
Fujishiro
When I first met at a party, Arakawa What I felt massive big trees.
Okubo
Something "dragon" What you feel.
Arakawa
Why (laughs).
Kindaichi
What Mr. Arakawa, to feel alive wearing the fine down to earth. Stout.
Arakawa
Ah, the old "heavy butt" I said sum is (laughs).
Kindaichi
The Janaku So, What can I do to a firm. Hang in there'll be a bit of strength.
Arakawa
Mr. Kindaichi are submitted by playing well since I debuted.
Kindaichi
I went to the house of Mr. Arakawa.
Arakawa
At that time, "Steel" I also spoke to the concept of mind.
Kindaichi
Looks comfortably lived in the apartment of Mr. Arakawa, come out and set up comic who lives in my apartment, I remember the apartment that are drawn.
Arakawa
Old (laughs).
- Everyone is "pounding" Please tell me and did debuted at.
Kindaichi
I MUST NOT to bring, was posted.
Arakawa
Why was the post?
Kindaichi
The fear is being evaluated in the face ... I charge.
Everyone
(Laughs).
Fujishiro
My "Dragon" was partly love, Enix (now Square Enix) I brought.
Kindaichi
There are together! "Pounding" will take you, "Dragon Quest 4 frame" What we could get it painted.
Arakawa
Easy to understand (laughs).
Okubo
If I could bring. I'm do not remember much, I did not talk about comics. I spoke with was doing at the time of the Olympics.
Arakawa
Toka winning debut, "lined up on each horse in unison," I'll close.
- "Pounding boy," Please tell me about the magazine.
Arakawa
There is also a game that parent company, and I differ somewhat from other publishers.
Kindaichi
Yes. Feel free?
Arakawa
It was the 20th anniversary of it this year.
Kindaichi
The genuine first issue has been purchased since the "pounding" as is 感慨深I hell I reared. I think I am able to help us a little bit as a cartoonist.
Arakawa
Then post "pounding" from the stance now is also not changed Kedo, right genre of the work has been published extensively.
Fujishiro
Impression was that many of the fantasy, with sports, with gags, with the current stuff ... I feel now is the wide frontage.
Arakawa
Still "pounding" I think you're reading his work than in, and I will be unfair or even a good director and story. Many good people and painting, a beat-each.
Fujishiro

(Btw, if anybody didn't know. Google Chrome automatically translates foreign language text to English - it works great with Spanish and French but is only so-so with Japanese. So, it's possible to read rough translations of some of the text.)

LOL, I guess I don't have to translate then. tongue.gif Everyone, please use Google Chrome (or any on-line translators). laugh.gif

I'm not a big fan of online translators, so it would be nice if you still translate it, please. ^^; I skimmed through Chrome's translation and it's...funny to say the least, LOL.

I'm only curious about "what happened to Roy?" atm so I hope that omake is only a gag! wacko.gif (It's so tragedy-comedic if it's true)

So yeah, asking it: Is there any news on Roy? Because most of them won't be translated and his parts will be lost in Ed&Al thingies and and I'll die in curiosity.

btw,Al is so cuuuteee.
Kirara
Wow that is nice & thick tongue.gif

I keep checking Yes Asia to see when it will be available there but it hasn't shown up yet...grrrr!
AA battery
Hey Kirara, this website sells the book too and they ship SAL.

MIGHT be cheaper than YesAsia. I guess it depends on how much YesAsia prices the book when it's out. So I'll wait till YesAsia gets it to see whether it's cheaper w/ YesAsia (but then I'll have to buy a few more items to utilize their free shipping) or cheaper with hobby search + SAL. The books is 632g so perhaps the SAL shipping is gonna be around 780 or 880yen... depending on how they pack it.

It's also available on amiami

Heh... that's what she said (sorry, just had to) - saying that makes me feel like I'm in highschool again lol

In all seriousness though, this looks really cool and I hope VIZ or somebody picks it up for US release. I bought a FMA book in Japanaese just recently - big mistake for me. I thought it'd be cool to look at, but not being able to read anything made me flip through the pages for about 5 minutes and then stick it in a box in my closet. Big waste of money =/
