Well 0_0 I found a little spoiler about edward and winry

here below
<Warning! Series Final/post-series Spoiler below!>
In chronicle
The time line of Edward said in 1917 (which ed and winry supposed is going to be 19 years old ) Edward and Winry got married!! Which is the same year of Edward started his journey 0_0
Also , it added that they have quite a lot of children ohmy.gif
will there be more kids that Arakawa didn't draw in chapter 108?LOL!!!
Cxille
That's pretty interesting...

<Warning! Series Final/post-series Spoiler below!>

The got married pretty quickly, huh? And 'quite a lot of children' makes me think they had over 5 children together or something, but I'm pretty sure it just means they had more than the two children we see in the family photo. tongue.gif

Hey Kirara, this website sells the book too and they ship SAL.

MIGHT be cheaper than YesAsia. I guess it depends on how much YesAsia prices the book when it's out. So I'll wait till YesAsia gets it to see whether it's cheaper w/ YesAsia (but then I'll have to buy a few more items to utilize their free shipping) or cheaper with hobby search + SAL. The books is 632g so perhaps the SAL shipping is gonna be around 780 or 880yen... depending on how they pack it.

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10149550

It's also available on amiami
http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english&.../e_display.html

Thanks for those links smile.gif

I have a gift certificate with Yes Asia so I am hoping to get it there along with the my order of Vol. 3 and 4 of the special editions of the manga but it doesn't show up soon maybe I will have to get it from somewhere else.

I sent an E-mail asking Yes Asia about the book but all they said is we can't answer your question now and we are forwarding it to someone else. sad.gif

http://d.hatena.ne.jp/growfat/20110728/1311868086

Thank you, Michiyo-!

Some information from the blog (this blog author is deemed very reliable with FMA facts from past numerous entries ^^)

It contains detailed chronological table.
* Mustang's promotion took long years and it was slow & steady process overall.
* On the other hand (Warning! HUGE Series Final Spoiler for Lin fans! -->) Lin became the Emperor of Xing in the same year he returned to Xing.

4-koma omake that are included here are from DVD, Guidebook, etc. 4-koma omake from regular volume books are not included.

Large number of pages are used for character introduction and storyline synopsis, and drawings for FMA by other Square Enix manga artists.

Not many previously "unpublished" drawings.

Barcode on the back cover is removable.

There is no omake under (behind) the back cover.

Omake comics drawn for this book are about 7 pages, and similar to the end of regular volume books. There is no series side-stories or post-final stories in omake. They are all "gag" comics.

<There is much more!! I will add more info later. ^^>

Anyone got the translation or going to translate the timeline, i would like to see the timeline in english and see the other events that took place for several characters like, (Warning! Following spoiler covers contain FMA:Brotherhood/manga Series Final Spoilers) , when Roy became fuerer, when ed and al returned from their travels, so far there info on ling become emperor and ed and winry marrying

and also

I would also like to know if other things are in the timeline like when Al married May, when ed and winry had their first and second child, maybe revealed their names.

<Everyone: We have many visitors and members of this board who have not finished reading FMA manga or finished watching FMA:Brotherhood anime. I can translate, but first we need someone who can kindly show us the timeline in Japanese. tongue.gif
Kirara
Okay I just ordered mine. I just hope this isn't released in the US later on because then I will have to get it again so I can actually read it. laugh.gif

But there does seem to be a few images I don't have that I want and I never did manage to get Figure Red & Blue.
FirstMoon
First, shouldn't be this thread spoiler-free? mellow.gif You know,Chronicles already comprehend all manga and new informations will be of course post-final.This is just tiring. If people don't want to get spoiled they shouldn't look at here first because there will be only post 108 discussion.(and of course I assume half of the guide book is 108 and post)

Second, wow I'm disappointed again how can they do this?(SPOILER Because it's all after 108 as expected blah blah)Roy becomes Fuhrer old? I mean OLD? How she thinks he'll bring democracy to the country if he gets there too late?

Let's move on Roy,what about Riza? Will she has enough good eyes to be a sniper in her 50/60s?And how will she protect Roy in her old condition? That's just irks me but I hope there is an answer for her as well. happy.gif

I totally squeed at EdWin news. <3

Okay I'm holding myself for more information about Roy.Please guys! *puppy eyes*
Kirara
About Roy and also some Ling

Well maybe he actually won't be the one to bring democracy to the country but he might just be the catalyst/start of it.

I don't know it makes sense to me that it took time for Roy to become the leader of the country/ It obviously wouldn't have been something easy.

And I was thinking it might have been easier for Ling because he didn't have any baggage from the past like Roy had. Even if you just think about it symbolically

Again it's reasonable for Roy but I wonder what's gonna happen to Riza if it takes that much

Also After Promised Day Roy has a very nice reputation.

That's why I can't wait the news on military more than Ed and co. That part is so blur.

That may not be "literal" truth. (i.e. these events may not necessarily all happened in the same year)
I found the same way of listing on the time table that was in Sacred Star of Milos movie theater pamphlet that's being sold at the movie theaters in Japan. In that time table, one part has "Hohenheim leaves home" and "Trisha dies" in the same section, but that does not necessarily happened in the same year. smile.gif
(Anyway, I have to be able to see the whole time table to find out more on this. ^^)

======

Also, about the Roy having taken time with his promotions within the Amestris military, I think that might be referring to his entire career within the military, from Major to Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel and so on. smile.gif

LOL, if it is the case that all of that is meant to have started in 1917, then they sure didn't waste any time! XD Are we still using spoiler tags? Well, just in case... While part of my modern mentality is slightly taken aback that they would get married as young as 19 and start having kids right away (let's spend more time seeing the world first!!), I guess I can accept Amestris is a different world (literally!) and time, so it's fine... not to mention we know that family is all Ed ever really wanted anyway. Winry too, after having had such rough childhoods themselves. That said, the other reluctantly girly part of me can hardly stand how adorable and perfect they are together. While I often scoff at many other romances (I am really not the chick flick type), for some reason EdWin just fills me with irrational glee. Plus, we gotta keep those gorgeous golden Xerxes genes going. The more, the better! ;D

I feel the same way. But let us not forget, that despite Amestris being a different reality from ours, they weren't even in the 1920's yet, so it's reasonable that their mentality is more like, "get hitched early on and have a bunch of kiddos right away".
Doesn't surprise me that they chose to do so, actually, what with their childhood and everything - just like you said, allykatty1. smile.gif
Makes sense given their background...also, I KNEW they'd want to have more than just 2 kids!! I just knew iiiittttt~ biggrin.gif *victory dance*
But yeah, I also feel a bit like, "Kids right away? No, go have fun being married first!" Oh well, it's great for Pinako, who I'm sure will adore being able to play with like 2 or 3 great-grandchildren before she's gone...She's not a young person anymore, won't live forever. Heck, if ed and Winry keep up with the age differences, Pinako might even live long enough to meet 5 great-grandkids. XD

Ditto on the lovely golden eyes!

I shamelessly feel so squishy and cuddly and warm inside (fangirly! >.<) about all of this. *.*

EDIT:
Oh, also, I'm sure it didn't all happen quite on the same year. If you think about it, they might have gotten married and even if Winry became pregnant in 1917, probably the baby was born in 1918. But anywhoo, that doesn't mean they DID become parents in 1917/1918, might not be a "literal statement" but more like an important date that makes a new stage (married life) and from which derives kids. Lol they weren't all born in the same year at least, I'll bet. ;D
<insertrandomthoughthere>I would love to know they'd had twins, would be awesome XD</done>

Aside from main characters like Ed, Al, Roy, and Ling, is there any new info about more minor characters, like the Armstrongs, the Curtises, Scar, and the Homunculi? Granted, we know a lot about most of the latter, but I'm pretty interested in seeing if there's anything new about Wrath and Mrs. Bradley because I am all about the Bradleys.

Congrats on your first post, and welcome to the forum, rannerson! ^^

I haven't posted this additional info about the Chronicle (I'm working on it, but currently we got so much stuff/info to translate and take care of XP)
Anyway, here is the list of characters that has "Character Intro/Info" in the Chronicle, and the volume of the info.

4 pages: Ed, Al, Roy
3 pages: Lin
2 pages: Hohenheim, Father
1 page: Scar, Winry, Riza, Olivier, Wrath
1/2 page: Hughes, Havoc, Kimblee, LanFun(Ranfan), Who(Fuu), Pride, Envy
1/4 page: Breda, Falman, Fuery, Ross, Marcoh, Knox, Miles, Buccaneer, Alex, Grumman, Heinkel, Darius, Jelso(Gelso), Zampano, May(Mei), Yoki, Izumi, Pinaco, Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, Greed
Other characters got 1/32 pages.

In general, so far I don't see much new info/revelations, except...

* it seems "Homunculus in the flask" might have not developed that huge scheme/ambition if King of Xerxes had not requested to give him the immortality... but, I haven't confirmed this yet by reading all the relevant raw part in Chronicle. smile.gif

* Al's armor weighs 10kg plus several kg... so, maybe around 15 ~ 17 kg?

* Roy is considered as very good-looking guy among some fans, but actually, his "look" is above average, and his height isn't particularly tall.

* Among homunculi, Arakawa-sensei considered to keep (Warning! Sort of close to Series Final Spoiler! --->) Greed alive.

And a couple more... I will add that later. ^^
Kirara
Ha Ha it seems Arakawa was surprised by Roy's popularity. But I think Roy's attraction comes from his character. It's not just his looks. If that makes sense. smile.gif

Thanks for the translations and tidbits Tombow. Even when I get the book I won't be able to read this stuff so it's very helpful.
Ing
thank you Tombow for the snippets. Does Chronicles contain any information/explanation on the big arse--chapter 104 spoilers--trasmutation of Amestris/Earth Gate/God?
'cause i never really grasped what the use of the human sacrifices were, and also, how did the giant form of father was made/created..... i remember a scene from the manga where the underground pipes rising up are shown but didn't that made total sense to me.....
anyway thank you for the infos, Tombow.

That makes sense... even because, in the manga's epilogue, that would show something around 1919 (maybe?) Roy is already a 3 star General, which means he's on the top of the career, already... I take that a lot more as a joke by Arakawa as to say Grumman is "a hard one" than actually a prospect as to Roy taking many years to get to become Führer.

Moreover, Arakawa has stated more than once she though Roy was "too young to become Führer", which might as well affect in that. But, just the same, I agree that it seems to be in regards to the military career as a whole, and not about him becoming Führer.
Kirara
Well we don't know when that Brig General pic took place. I had the feeling that those pics were from various times in the future.

That being said I suppose a long time could be related to his whole career. But I still think it would take a little time for Roy to move to the very top. He might not have been an elderly man though since he started off quite young.

Actually, it's General. We know he's already a Brigadier General 2 years after the Promised day... ^^ The Brigadier General insignia has no star. ^^ Here: http://fma.wikia.com/wiki/Military_Ranks

But, yeah, you're right ^^ I take it it's from around the same time as the pic of the Elrics, because Roy doesn't look THAT much older (just slightly) and neither does Riza, so, I take it to be around 5, 6 years after the Promised Day... not more then that. But it would be MUCH appreciated if someone could scan the entire Timeline for us, cause I'm really curious about many things ^^
katieelefun
What about Ling and Lanfan? Or Al?
Anyway, I hope this book gives us a little insight into Ling and Al and the Flame Alchemist.

OT:
About Roy being "above average" he's still above average. Which still makes him sexy! wink.gif

<@katieelefun - Welcome to our board! We usually go ahead and add spoiler tags for these comments, then ask the poster to use proper spoiler tags in the future, but because these comments are, in our opinion, not directly related to the discussions on this book, but rather off-topic "inserted" comments, so, instead of adding spoiler tags, we simply took out these comments that are not directly related to this book. The comment (one with an arrow ↓) on Ed's side of that illustration by Arakawa-sensei says: "(Ed is) standing on a platform" laugh.gif

There is a long conversation between Mr. Hirohito Araki (the author of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure") and Arakawa-sensei in the book also, and part of it is currently on GanGan site (as posted on page 3 of this thread by Michiyo-) .

1.) It's a really good conversation piece, and eventually I would like to translate this, but since I'm currently overwhelmed with stuff to take care of and it may be a while before I can get to it, if anyone would like to do translations of this, or find translations, please post! Meantime, im_juice_lee posted the Google translations of this...which is sort of confusing (as in any on-line translation of Japanese material is ^^) but you can get some idea of the conversation topics. biggrin.gif

2) There is more of this Araki/Arakawa conversation, and the rest is in the book.
If can, someone please post the whole conversation! (then one day I will try to post the translations ^^).
Reportedly, in that conversation Arakawa-sensei mention that in 10 years or so she would like to make a research trip to Silk Road and write manga on Silk Road, etc. smile.gif

======

Also, there is a conversation between Arakawa-sensei and Mr. Kazuki Nakajima (author of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann/Gurren Laggan) in the book. This one is said to be a good one also. If anyone can, please post it. ^^ Reportedly, Arakawa-sensei talks about her thought on the ending of FMA in this conversation. ^^

@Heza, me, too! I love that pic! wub.gif

I will try to add info and translations for those "collaboration" pics later ^^

ETA: I got some extra info on that collab pic by Ms. Cocoa Fujiwara posted by Michiyo- above.

The image in Chronicle is missing Ms. Fujiwara's comments (mistake by Editor).
GanGan then posted the apology and the drawing image that correctly includes Ms. Fujiwara's message on GanGan site. (It states the apology and ask readers to click on teh link to get to the correct image that has the drawing with Ms. Fujiwara's messages.)

Here is Ms. Fujiwara's Twitter on this, saying because she has been a big fan of FMA, she was very sad to learn that the editor of FMA Chronicle made the editing mistake and omitted Ms. Fujiwara's comments from her collab drawing page in Chronicle. On Twitter she asked others to spread this info so that as many people will be able to see the correct page.

It seems the first printing of the Chronicle has number of editing error/misprints. ohmy.gif
Kirara
Oh man that's a shame about the editing mistakes. I got my copy the other day but my Japanese knowledge is non-existent so the only thing I can enjoy is the pictures. I am happy to say there is a lot in the image department so I think the book is worth it even if you can't read it.

I know I want so much if we consider that it's thick and we haven't even know the full translated version of Guidebook3 but...I really need to learn what happens to the military and politic stuff okay?
Tombow
^ Overall, large portion of pages in this Chronicle are spent for illustrations and messages from other GanGan/Square Enix manga artists that's congratulating the conclusion of FMA series. But, Arakawa-sensei's interview supposedly tells some interesting tidbits ...like how Ling became what he's became after the end of series, stuff like that. And the chronicle table also said to have some interesting info. If someone can kindly post the pages for Arakaw-sensei's interview, and also the whole chronological table, I can check out more. biggrin.gif
Kirara
I would but I don't have a scanner. I would love to know what is actually being said in the book. sad.gif

I know someone who is getting the book and who is able to read it. Maybe she will translate some of it...until then we just have to be patient.
Puka-chan
I ordered the Guidebook a while ago, but I still don't have it. When I get my copy and there is still no one who posted it, I can do it.
asktheshadow

or is there any translation smile.gif
Tombow
@asktheshadow - Welcome to our board! biggrin.gif I hope we'll get official English version sometime later. Right now, we have only bits and pieces translated because we only have several scanned pages of the book. Hopefully we'll get more later. smile.gif

@Puka-chan - Please do! happy.gif

@Kirara - I hope your friend can share the translations. ^^

There are pages before and in between which basically look like they're recapping the story/introducing characters and showing the messages and images from Gangan's Don't Forget FMA event. Although I noticed there are small comments from Arakawa on some pages, so I'll go back and scan those later. First I'll deal with the collabs, interviews, omakes and the story timeline. ohmy.gif

There's more to come --I'll go onto a second post. happy.gif
