I love roadtrip books and movies, and I think there aren´t enough of them! I think the sense of freedom is the most enchanting thing in roadtrip stories.

And, because of this personal attachment of me, I have been wondering if FMA could be considered as a roadtrip manga (and anime). I´ve never read any reviews stating that, but in the end, Ed and Al do travel all around Amestris during their journey. I think that is actually one of the greatest things in the series; the world of FMA is pretty interesting and very unique, and little by little we get to know more and more details of it, as the Elric brothers travel to faraway places of their land. I love how the image we already have of Amestris and its neighbour countries in our minds just gets expanded chapter after chapter. Their journey begins from the East, and thus we get familiar with places like Reole and Resembool. Later on we get to see a whole lot of other places, too. I think that is a big part of FMA´s charm ^ ^ At least for me.

Do you see FMA as a roadtrip story? And even if you do, do you also think the traveling is one of the highlights of the series? Or do you have any interest towards FMA-world anyways?
