I think that's a great idea! It might help us through the withdrawal.


Like someone said before, I don't think there will be 150 pages next chapter, but it has to be in the hundreds somewhere.
Gosh, I'm so nervous about it... anyone else? I don't know why I'm nervous.

^ I really am. I'm nervous that without 150 pages there's not gonna be enough room to cover everything I want covered. But the MUST HAVE's are:
-Ed gets his leg back.
-Al gets his body the heck outta there.
-Hohenheim dies. (It's a happy ending for him, guys. A happy ending.)
- Roy becomes Fuhrer. (And maybe gets his eyesight back, but I wouldn't be devastaded if he didn't.)
- Winry's reaction to their bodies back. (Tears of hapiness, earrings, apple pie included)
- There is at least one canonization of one my favorite couples.

And that's all I need! If the next chapter is as badass as this one, than I think we'll be fine.

-father battle ends
-al is retrieved
-ed's leg is retrieved
-other characters possibly also die
-roy becomes fuhrer (perhaps with eyesight?) royai scene? XD haha
-winry reaction-cries-al eats apple pie, would also liek to see ed cry since hes refused to do so all this time
-Greeling body sharing problem resolved
-Xing people go back to Xing (possibly with Al XD)
-Scar's name
-Ed/Al rebuild their house would be nice XD
-Other minor appearances from most of the other characters, Olivia/Armstrong/Izumi/ Grumman too since he had a bit of an ulteria motive

Agreed, pretty much everything this, but especially about Ed crying.
Honestly, I've always pictured a scene in my mind when they're taking a group picture after everyone's back together and fine, and then the camera flashes - Ed has tears running down on his cheeks, just like Hohenheim had in their old family picture. That would be kinda awesome ending for the story. (Like father, like son-kind of way )

I'm still a bit undecisive whether Hohenheim should die or not, though. But whatever Arakawa decides to do with him, I'll gladly accept it.

Oh, and since the page amount was also taken up.. Personally I wouldn't mind for 150 pages, heck, even 200 pages. There's just too much stuff to tie up, I'm also a little worried how 80+ pages could do all that without fast-forwarding too much.
Ah well. Two more weeks to go and see

Out of all of those, I am 100% positive that one of them will come true, and that's the reveal of Scar's name. Arakawa has stated that she has already come up with his name, and it will be revealed before the series is over.

But just the "highly probables" in my mind are like, "Well, IF this happens then THIS HAS to happen." For instance, if the brothers get their bodies back, Winry WILL cry tears of hapiness, and without apple pie and earrings being resolved it would leave the readers confused and disapointed, so I think the Winry ending we all want will happen. And if Winry and Ed are both alive in the end, then we all know they'll end up together. Maybe they won't officially say "I love you" to each other, but I mean, c'mon. We all know it would happen.

Also, I would LOVE to see Ed cry. Especially in the presense of Winry. That would be perfect. Totally not a fangirl. xD

I'd love to see Ed cry at Hohenheim's death - and maybe call him 'father', which he hasn't done once in the series.

And I'd also like to see what Ed and Al will do with their lives after they get their bodies back. I remember them discussing how taking their bodies back is taking up their whole time, and that would leave a bit of a vacuum once the whole thing is over, esp. with the state alchemists being hopefully disbanded (I love the idea of Winry giving Ed a hard time for being unemployed).

I like the idea of him staying in the army too though:

Ed: Your Excellency, I am resigning from my post as State Alchemist.

Olivier: Wrong. You are being promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. Goodbye.

Ed: BUT -

Olivier: HAVE I MADE MYSELF UNDERSTOOD, FULLMETAL?

Ed: ......... yes, ma'am

Maybe they'll go to Xing to research the alchemy there? Unlikely, but we'll see.


I'd like to see Marcoh go back to his village.

I hope Scar doesn't end up in jail. As justified as it is, it just wouldn't be a fulfilling ending.

I wonder whether Ling will return to Xing with a subdued Greed, or whether the two will separate. When I saw Ed 'invade' Pride, the first thing I thought was that he would be able to separate Ling from Greed, maybe even leaving Greed alive, but from the way the manga's developed that might not be necessary.

Just wanted to add my overall thoughts on the contents of this chapter:

A pretty good chapter, but I had a few issues. One, if all Greed wanted was good friends the whole time, does that mean that's all Father wanted, since Greed is his greed? I mean, I found it a little annoying that is what Greed's true desire was the whole time, since he's already had good friends and still wanted the world. This sort of softens up too much for my tastes. I want him to still desire the world. That's part of his charm.

Second, the cliffhanger from last chapter ended up not really paying off, and you think I'd be used to that by this point, but it still irritated me. Nobody was seriously hurt by Father's blast. Incompacitated, yes, but not fatally wounded. And we still didn't quite get to what Father was really hoping to do with all this power.

I loved that Edward went right back into battle after Alphonse's sacrifice, screaming at Al for being an idiot. Time to grieve is a luxury Ed doesn't have here. I love the "third-rate fraud" callback, too.

Looks like things are not going well for Scar, and I wonder if he will die or get a happy ending.

I loved the interaction between Greed and Olivier. Can I pair them? I'm not really the shipping type, though.

The art was amazing in this chapter, though. Arakawa hasn't gotten lazy at all in the art department, and the story is still good enough for me to desire greatly to know how it all ends.

Two things I noticed upon rereading this chapter:

1) Is it just me or did Al use Rentanjutsu to get his brother's arm back? Does it count if he already had the blades already set in? http://www.onemanga.com/Full_Metal_Alchemist/107/51/

2) Ed's spear has a small snake around it. http://www.onemanga.com/Full_Metal_Alchemist/107/64/ I guess that's just part of Ed's tendency to decorate his weapons with tacky gargoyles, but it also reminds me of the recurring symbol Flamel's Cross.
