Moogledaime at LivejournalSummary: Greed is tormented by the images of his former Comrades and demands explanation from Wrath as to why he appears in these flashbacks. A fight ensues until Greed escapes through a window.
Meanwhile, at Armstrong Manor, Olivier demands her Father retire so that she may inherit the estate herself. Her Father informs her he intends to leave the house to Alex. When Alex enters, their Father tells them they are to fight and he will yield the house to the winner. As they battle, their Father, Mother and sister Katherine leave for their vacation, choosing to visit Xing. Olivier wins the fight, and when Alex challenges about her Military involvement it is revealed she sent the family away for their own safety.
At Youswell we see Mei walking through the streets, still carrying Envy in his glass jar. After bumping in to some locals she informs them she wishes to return home to Xing. They offer to provide supplies for her journey and a place to rest for the night. Overwhelmed by their kindness she cries. Envy persuades her the better thing to do would be to go back to Central. Through his thoughts we find out Envy plans to find a Stone and return to his previous form.
Ed, Darius and Heinkel arrive at an old hideout. A figure collapses in the doorway, and after complaining of hunger Ed realises it's Ling. He informs Ed that Greed has seperated from the other Homunculus and in a brief moment of panic, Ling was able to regain control of his body. He also tells Ed that Father will open the Gate on the Promised Day and that this may be the opportunity for Ed and Al to get their bodies back. After finding out that Ran-Fan is safe, Greed is able to retake control from Ling. Ed asks Greed if he would like to join forces with them. He agrees, as long as Ed agrees to work for him.
In Briggs, Sig and Izumi are informed of the Promised Day. After getting herself arrested, Izumi passes the information on to Major Miles. The information is then passed on to General Gruman. Gruman informs Rebecca who thus passes on the information to Hawkeye via a note stuffed into Black Hayate's collar. She passes these details on to Havoc who it turn gives the note to Mustang, who burns it after reading it.

-Greed vs Wrath looked good as far as I could tell
-Armstrong sibling fight was a little drawn out, also good
-Wishful thinking they'd use May's original introduction in this episode, oh well
-Wow, a single eyecatch with Olivier, Armstrong, Wrath, and Greed
-lol, Ed hitting Ling's head
-lol, dog peeing
-Wow, it's Mason!
-What are you fighting? A housewife!
-Wow, different ED with lots of clips! Very cool.
-Gotta love the shot of the Homunculi and Father at the end.
Very good episode.

- The GreedLing vs. Bradley fight was good but a bit short.
- Armstrong siblings fight!

Of course Olivier is stronger.
- May in Youswell. But they didn't know her. So Bones didn’t want to make another Youswell flashback.
- And Ling came back.
- They didn't cut out Mason this time.
- And the information about the Promised Day is spreding.
- I missed Havoc. And Roy.
- Wow, very nice ending, I really liked it. And the episode title appeared only at the end.
- I'm looking forward to the next episode.

- Yay! Greedling vs. Bradley! I've been waiting for it!
- I think I like the animation... just because my KeyHole was lagging I can't tell for sure.
- Armstrong's mansion!
- The serious music made Olivier vs. Alex even funnier for me.
- I really like how Bones did that scene.
- Envy, you're creepy.
- Epic group eyecatch!
- The second one was kinda weird. Edo again?
- Ling! I really missed his VA.
- Oh, Greed again.
- Fighting Housewife Izumi!
- Rebecca!
- Everyone!
- Really, they possess a good information channel in Central.
- What's that weird thing they did with ending?
- Anyway, I like it! I REALLY LIKE IT! It's epic!
- So, we're getting serious from now on, huh?

My initial thoughts:
- Greed is awesome
- The Armstrong family!
- Olivier versus Alex! Awesome.
- OLIVIER IS KICKING SOME BUTT <3 <3 <3
- I think I like Greed's voice in Brotherhood just as much as his voice in the first series
- "I'll be your henchman!" I love this part.
- A clip of original Greed! <3
- Oh hey, it's Mason!
- "A HOUSEWIFE."
- General Grumman is also awesome.
- Do we really have to go through the ENTIRE info-passing bit?
- Wha? Different ending credit scenes showing things moving along? That's cheating!
- Today's the day the homunculi have their piiiicnic!
Good episode, from what I can tell.

Wow, you're fast.
This is the first time I watch Brotherhood through KeyholeTV. I made a stupid mistake with timing and I ended up watching only half episode

U (2:00 at Mexico City time, my dear countrymen XD).
I can only say a few things about the episode:
*The ending video has changed completely o_0. I wonder if it will happen afterwards... I don't remember some things from the manga. Filling the gap, right? I like that. ^^
*I remember it all being more epic in the manga. On the other hand, Rebecca just went overboard as herself... which is a good thing, I think.
What's the CD-online-thing that Ed and Olivia were advertising, by the way?

Pretty much echoing what everyone else has said - this was a fantastic ep.
- Olivier vs. Alex, plus the Armstrong family - so good - and it felt like they added more to the fight than what was in the manga (or it might've been my imagination)
- Greed v. Wrath was great!
- Greed meeting up with Ed, Heinkel, and Darius, loved it.
- Nice to see Mason and Sig again.
- Izumi issuing her smackdown of the Briggs soldiers. "Just a housewife"

- Grumman and Rebecca, glad they kept the 'sexual harassment' moment

- Loved how the ED was spliced into the scene of Roy reading the note, and the montage was amazing.
- Last part with Roy burning the note was very cool.

Preview pics make me think: hmm, I don't remember Ed being on a bed in that scene. What HAVE they been up to?

More serious thoughts once I have seen the episode.
Serious Thoughts
- It's lucky Greed is so distracting, Mother Bradley doesn't have to face the fact he child is a demon with Dracula's shadow.
- The speed of the fight really reflects Wrath's speed in a way the manga could only suggest. That isn't putting the manga down, it's just a scene displayed better when animated.
- Katherine got all the cuteness in the gene pool. Of course that meant Alex and Olivier got most of the EPIC WIN-ness. Was nice to have a lighter scene after such an opening too. Like the music here.
- And the cuteness continues, who will win? Envy or Mei?
- EdxWin eyecatch! I believe, that is Winry's earring I'd guess. Ed is also looking older in this episode, subtle but noticeable. It's there eyes being smaller and higher isn't it? But thats going into Art Style.
- Ugliest dog...ever. Must be to dull how good looking everyone else is....well bar Rebecca at first.
- Hmm I like this ED too, puts every character in their place in case we forgot.
- We get it Roy...you rule...show off.
- Going back to the very first thought I had, he wasn't on her bed in the manga. Bones you are a tease.

I liked this episode :F
-Both fights, Greed vs. Wrath and Olivier vs. Alex were brilliantly animated, varied, dynamic and fast - everything I expect from well animated battle,
-was Mei shown when first crossing the border in Youswell? This moment kinda lacked emotions,
-Yay, Ed!~ It's just me, or is he drawn really strangely? I guess they wanted to fit to Arakawa's style more, but there are some drastic changes in his face features... also the lineart seems very soft,
-Did they cut "I'm not small, it's just the world that is big?" ;;,
-Izumi <3~
-Riza <33 She is looking soo pretty~ And I thought I was straight,
-Lol, male line,
-Wow, different ending animation. Too bad BONES decided stills are better. It's good anyway,
-I love how Mustang burns scrap of paper and the title screen is shown,
-Edward, the tall pervert coming next! (is he laying on Winry's bed? o_o)

Roy-tachi <3 Amazing!
And the final montage was AWESOME and WIN. /fansqueeing.

This was a great episode, and it's awesome to see everyone else thought so, too! : D
I loved the parts with Greed!Ling in it.
I also loved the part with Roy when he dropped the paper and he burned it as it fell. : )
And was it just me, or did Rebecca look like a man in drag for a couple of seconds in the scene with her and Riza? xD;;
I can't wait for the next episode, especially if they're dropping in some more moments with Ed and Winry. xD

Thanks God, I'm not the only one who thought that Ed was drawn strangely in this episode o_O
He actually looked more like young!Hoho than Ed... I know he's his son, but they doesn't look exactly the same D: look at
this. For me he seriously does look more like young!Hoho after changing hairstyle than, for example, this Ed in the ending XD I hope he'll come back to his usual look, because, well... he just doesn't look like Ed for me (but the truth is that I care about details too much haha) +___+
But, aside of that, the episode was awesome. Loved the animation, especially in Greeling vs. Bradley fight. Only scene with May felt a little forced since they cut out both actions that took place in Youswell (the one in the start and later May rescuing Kyle's father).

Overall, I like the Alex vs Olivia scene with Alex screaming "NO!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Did you guys notice how much money the Armstrong family kept in the safe box?
-Roy...

he just always has to do things the cool way.

My new favorite episode.
Everything in it was epic win.
I was laughing so HARD when Olivier threw Alex against that wall and then dragged him back into the other room.
And the ending was so perfect. I can't even express in words how much I loved it.
And Mustangs final snap was Bad A

EDIT;
I love love love love that they played that epic music when the armstrongs were fighting. I think that's only the 3rd time it's been used.
1st was Mustang vs Lust
2nd was when Olivier rode up the elevator in a mother freakin Tank.
and now the 3rd time.
So awesome

Nope, 4th time! There was also the incredible moment in 26 when Ed opened the gate out of Gluttony's stomach - the most standout time this track was used, along with Mustang vs. Lust, IMHO.

Loved that we got an Ed/earrings eyecatch, though I thought it looked a bit awkward. We had a badass Ed eyecatch last episode; wish this one had been a little more introspective... still cool though.

^ HOW DID I FORGET THAT???
*facepalm*
Seriously. I can't believe I forgot that.
Well, now it makes it even funnier that they used it with Alex and Olivier. It's this bad A track only used in epic win moments and we get it in one of the funniest scenes.

Greelin fight was epic! Short but epic. They both move so fast! The animation sure kicked butt too. Yaaaaay! Loved Selim and his shadows too. I cheer for the brief return of Ling!
That Armstrong fight was pretty hilarious! And the rest of their family just casually walks out as the house shakes and Alex just flies past them every once in a while. It's still a tough decision about whose more bad-arse, Oliver or Izumi, especially after Izumi totally pwned some Briggs soldiers.
Mei crying was adorable, but how could she listen to Envy! (of course her presence in Central was vital many chapters later...)
Roy sure does make burning paper look totally awesome.

just noticed from ep 46 preview- while manga ed grew up, anime ed didn't. (oh well, for a ep without a single scene where winry and ed were in the same place, it's actually quite full of edxwin haha) ily eyecatches!

Really enjoyed this episode, I felt like it covered a lot without going too quickly.
I loved the Alex/Olivia fight, how is it that Alex can beat people in fights except his sister?

And that final clip of Roy was just cool.

Hai, hai, this was a good one. As everyone has said thus far. I don't really have much worth to add, I agree on most points. Only have a few thoughts:
- Boy was the Greed/Bradley fight
fast?
Everything happened so darn swiftly!! It was a little hard catching everything that went on. One helluva intense battle.
- Armstrong sibling quarrel was entertaining. I loled at Alex's "Naaooo!"
- And woo, next week we get that scene. You know which scene. Looks like they might have altered it though. As long as they didn't cut it out!

OH WOW....WOW....WWOOOOWWW......THIS was an AWESOME EPISODE!!! WOW!!!It looks like they changed the styling a bit, like the way they animated the fight between Greedling and Wrath. It was beautiful!!!
Ed is finally looking like a MAN!!!! I LOVE IT!!!

Lots of comedic relief!!! --The fight between Alex and Olivier (awesome) and the dog peeing on the car towards the end! (hilarious)
Did anyone else laugh out loud, when Catherine Armstrong popped into Olivier and Alex's fight to say "Good luck brother!" ---LOL
have I ever said how much I love Greedling as a character???
Nice new sequence at the end!
This is definitely one of my absolute favorite eps!!! LOVED IT.

Are you sure about that??? Ed looks a lot longer and "manlier" now in the anime. Of course thats just my opinion. His face is longer, with more defined jawline, and he is a bit buffer and just bigger overall. aka hunky! LOL

watched it. what an AWESOME episode we have!
the battle is epic. love it, one of my favorite episode. the olivier vs alex is great and absolutely HILARIOUS. i don't really like how bones try to make ed looks 'older'. seems a bit weird for me, maybe a different group is the one who made the episode or something.
love the eyecatch, the next episode will full of EdWin stuff i think.
oh, almost forgot, i LOOOOOOOVEEEEEEE the last scene after ending theme, the roy scene burning the paper is so awesome!

-Oi. The Greedling and Bradley fight went by fast. Its a good thing that Mrs. Bradley was too fixated on the fight so she didn't notice a dangerous shadow coming from her demonic son.
-Oh man that Olivier vs Alex fight was downright HILARIOUS. LOL'd at Alex's NOOOOOs.
-And why did May listen to Envy? Oh wait. Plot purposes, duh.
-Ed looked weird. Like his eyes did.
-Ah I missed Ling's voice. Nice to hear it again.
-Finally we get to see Mason.
-Izumi's "I'm a housewife" was complete win.
-The ending montage was brilliant. And absolutely fabulous.
Loved this episode. Definitely one of the better episodes, IMO.

--can't-- take...eet...to much...ugh--badass...-!- (why, Olivier, or course!)
You know, Ed has had many eyecatches without Al now. Like three. I feel like Al should get some soon...
Haha, Ling <3 It was fun when Ed banged his head.
Well, personally, I like this episode very very much. I'm not one for fighting scenes, and this was great, lots of the People, they made comrades and took desicions, care was hidden under harsh words, people were given back their personality after not being on the show for so long, and you got a feeling of a network of friends, sticking together, when Alphonse's message was passed.
Lol, I wonder if it was like: "Hello Maison, it's Alphonse! Could you say to Sig to say to Sensei to say to Miles and Bucaneer to say to Falman to say to Gruman to say to Rebecca to say to Riza to say to Havoc to say to Mustang that...eh...what was it now again...Dad?!"
And I love how almost everyone here is like "Wee! We love it!! Yey!" and not bashing it for the lack of 20-min-fights! <3<3

More like it was lucky for Greed that Pride decided not to blow his cover and interfere.

^ I always thought about that in the manga. What if Pride had thumped Mrs. Bradley on the head, knocked her out, and then him and Wrath tag teamed against Greed? Greedling would be with us no more.
hawkflame
Feb 25 2010, 06:12 PM
1) Greed/Wrath fight was amazing. I loved Pride slowly revealing a couple of his shadow "arms"- don't recall if he did that in the manga.
2) I really wish they did a proper introduction with Mei in Youswell, because I really wasn't feeling it the way they rewrote it. Them showering -that- much attention over a complete stranger, and Embryo Envy guilting Mei about going back to central while using, again, total strangers... It just works so much better with some actual familiarity established.
3) I have a new Crowning Moment of Funny- using the epic "Mustang vs Lust" music over the battle between Alex and Olivier. Highlight of the episode, IMO.
4) The extended info exchange was intact 100% pretty much, but I wish they really preserved Izumi's manga entrance- with her face mostly obscured except the big round eyes and giant grin, going "... a housewife...".
5) Great, though, that they made the entire ending into one big montage of all the major players, what they're doing and how they're getting ready.
