Apparently, a new RPG was announced exclusively for the PSP. Other than the fact that it's Fullmetal Alchemist, I know nothing else about this new game.
Now discuss.

Considering the title and related recent events in the manga, I'd hazard a guess that this one's going to be a lot more serious and non-cracky than the recent Wii games... Has anyone else seen anything about this? And any translations for the magazine scan? Or the post? (I'm pretty sure the post's in Chinese.)
on a side note I feel kind of terrible that I can't read much of that post, I only studied Chinese for seven years x_x

Thank you,
tinlunlau for bringing the news, and
Michiyo- for finding the official web-site!!
According to the
official Bandai Namco site for this game on
Michiyo-'s post above, the official site/producer's blog opened on Feb. 12, and so far no sales date is set for this game, and no price yet, but it says it is an RPG game, and the name of the game is "
Promised Day (Yakusoku no hi)" just as reported by
tinlunlau.

I wonder when it's gonna be out? There don't seem to be an estimate release date yet...

Yeah, I found out through uwants (a Chinese message forum from Hong Kong) so my link is obviously in Chinese. Kinda bummed that it's not being made directly by Sony. Cuz otherwise, they would release a Chinese version of the game. (I'm currently enjoying Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 in Chinese all thanks to the fact that Sony has just released the Chinese and Korean version last week. It's so nice being able to understand what the hell is going on in the game)

We may get some now content for example, we might get to see what other characters were doing when the story focused on others. I personally would love to see more behind the scenes of the homunculi setting up for the promised day.
Lets just hope this game does a better version of telling the story than Dual Sympathy.
Over and out.

I would speculate that based on the name and the eclipse logo, it might follow the manga/Brotherhood...
Also I can't help but caption that screenshot "Why is there only one phone booth in Central?" xD

Feb 23 2010, 07:42 PM
Ah ha, so it follows manga/FMA:B... Well, guess this won't be out until the anime is over... well, it better not be out before then and spoil the ending for everyone or make up its own crappy ending =P

Update: Al is up on the Character page.

Looks like it's really going to follow the manga/Brotherhood. That's why I'm looking forward to it.
I agree with

It didn't as far as I can remember. Looks like we will be getting some new content.

I'm seeing stuff from all over the series and then some. I wonder...
The Hughes bit looks like a reference to Elysia's birthday party. "PUT MY DAUGHTER DOWN" etc... lol.
...Whoa, is that Roy and Havoc fighting Lust there?
Could this be... a game of the
whole series?

It's a pain in the arse that game is PSP only. It sounds like it actually covers the plot of the series, which is what I'd want, yet the Wii title was more of a sidestory I think. I guess there probably isn't a PS2 port of it either (obviously I wouldnt expect a next gen version as the title seems very low res).

Man... why couldn't they have made something like this for the Wii or PS3? T_T Still though, this almost makes me want a PSP. Almost. So far the FMA games have been pretty mediocre, no?
Katya Martin
Mar 4 2010, 12:01 PM
I can think of about a million ways this would have been awesome on the Wii.
...May, huh? I wonder if that means the manga will have finished by then...

LOLOLOLOOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I'm totally choosing the 3rd option if I play this game.
Translation for lolz.
[The guy in the screencap, I remember him as the husband of the lady who gave birth in the Rush Valley episode but I can't remember his name, probably asked Al a question like "What is your brother's existence to you?" judging from Al's response]
Al: My brother's existence [to me]...?
Option 1: Someone who I can trust.
Option 2: My rival.
Option 3: Someone I love (and note that's what's being highlighted on the screencap)
TOTALLY MADE MY DAY HAHAHAHA

o.o so soon?! I don't think the manga can end within the next 3 chapters... I guess the game won't hit the last stage of the story then. Probably will end at where everyone starts to prep for the "Promised Day" hence the game title? Hmm...

whoa i think this is going to be a great game. graah but it's in PSP =__=
so the game took the FMAB/manga storyline, eh? then it's going to be a long game..
means that in the end we can see the ending of the series??
glad that this is not a cracky game like how they did in the Wii.

the graphics are not that good... but still nice =w=~~~ i hope it will release in my country too~ >_<..

Mar 7 2010, 01:19 PM
Wow maybe I haven't wasted my money buying a psp
I've always thought that FMA is perfect for an RPG game!
The graphic isn't the best thing that I've ever seen, but given that it's a psp game I think that it's fine ( they are overusing Brotherhood screenshots imo, but hey if the game is funny I can turn a blind eye)
I only hope that it will come even here in Europe...maybe the fact that it isn't a kind of spinoff will induce them to release it in other countries as well.
