Summary: Briggs is able to defeat the Drachman forces with ease, finally carving out the blood crest. Zampano brings Envy to Marcoh, where Marcoh reveals that it was their intention from the start to lure the homunculus out there, and Envy is easily hit and outsmarted by the multiple alkahestry traps set up by May. Out of anger, Envy transforms into his true form and begins to attack the group. After being captured by the homunculus, Marcoh destroys Envy's Philosopher's Stone and renders Envy into a tiny, parasitic creature. Scar gives it to May and tells her to return to her country. Marcoh and Scar decide to go their own way, and Al and the rest head for Liore. In Dublith, Bido, the last remaining chimera of Greed's, sees two military officers searching for Izumi. Thinking that they could lead him to Greed, he hides underneath their car. Olivier is told about Briggs victory, and is then shown, by one of the military's higher ups, the secret behind forbidding human transmutation. Meanwhile, when reaching Liore, Al and co. meets with Rosé and Hohenheim. - from

Damn, they messed up the scene between Kimbley and Drachma's general, i always thought it was an awesome scene, especially when Kimbley complains about the guy being rude just because he died while speaking to him.

My initial thoughts:
- Isn't this a fine domestic scene?
- Oh yeah, the awesome is about to begin!
- Envy's VA sounds out of practice in this episode
- Envy's big form looks a little more natural in this episode, I think
- Marcoh's big moment is coming... it's coming!
- OH EFF, THEY BROKE IT UP FOR THE COMMERCIAL. COME ON!
- THAT WAS... all right. Not as great as it could have been, though.
- Ahahaha, little fetus Envy is kiwi DESU~
- Poor Yoki!
- They should put him in a little tank with some ferns and a little wheel
- Seriously, Akira Senju, heed my call! New. Music. Please.
- Oh, so NOW with Bido.
- OLIVIER SCENE = HAPPY PENGUINTRUTH <3 <3 <3
- Urgh, it's those STUPID white zombie (lol) soldiers. LAME.
Ehh... I guess they did all right. Maybe THE SCENE loses impact when you expect it.

- The Briggs' short war - good they showed it.
- I giggled at how Mei tried to teach Al Rentanjutsu and when children were "playing" with Yoki. That was awesome

.
- Surprised Riza is not something we see very often, do we?
- Oww, my KeyHole cracked so I missed a part of the Envy fight.
- But turning into his "true" form was cool.
- Omg, Marcoh destroying the stone - that was scary.
- Heh, on a side note - they aired the commercial of "The magical girl..." with Nana Mizuki's (Ran Fan's seiyuu) song as a theme.
- Olivier / Alex eyecatch!
- So, that's Envy's true form.
- Poor Yoki!
- Al and Mei's expressions - priceless

- The part when Mei was leaving... that was heartbreaking.
- BIDO!
- So, after years, Olivier's still bullying her little brother?
- Don't tell me they will show the Homunculi-base-something-thingy?
- Well, they showed it.
- ohh, Lior!
- Hohenheim!
- So, next week is Greed's inner fight or not? That's one of my favourite moments in the manga, I hope to see it.
- It was a good episode overall.

The arrival of real Envy is just making me look forward for a certain chapter/event that'll happen in the near future *grins*
And the Armstrong siblings are just made of awesome

-We didn't get to see the scene with Kimblee and that Drachma officer. Why not?
-Ishbalan children are soo cute! <3
-Ooh... awesome fight time.
-Wait.. why did they cut off the fight for a commercial break? And it was just getting good!
-Olivier/Alex eyecatch!
-Marcoh destroying Envy's stone looked gooood.
-Awww poor Yoki. Everyone is so mean to him.
-Envy's little fetus form is cute.
-Bye bye Mei. We'll see you soon...
-BIDO! Nice to see you again.
-Awww poor Alex. Olivier is always so mean to him. In a funny sibling
love hate kind of way.
-Okay those zombie puppet soldiers are even more creepier now than they were in the manga.
-So next week is Greed's fight with
himself right?
Overall, this episode was pretty good. My only complaint is that they didn't show the Kimblee and Drachma officer scene.
-And the Armstrong sibings are made of pure awesomeness.

- The conversation between Kimblee and that other guy would have been nice, but eh, wasn't that important.
- Okay seriously, who trusts Yoki enough to let him babysit? :|
- Hey, Scar looks a little less constipated! That's progress.
- lol @ the giant fist XD
- Envy seems less CG-ified this time around. Looks better x]
- Ooh, that weird baby thing grabbing Marcoh's coat was a nice touch.
- Ha, I never imagined Envy having such a squeaky voice.
- Awww May ;o;
- I'm sure Olivier loves her brother. She just has a funny way of showing it.
I this this is one of the better episodes we've had in a while. And it looks like we get Greedling and Ed next week.

If there is anything for me to comment on from this episode it's about Envys lil' form. I mean that voice is adorable and then when he was rolling on his back I couldn't help but 'dawww'. He's supposed to be evil! Not cute! I want a mini Envy as a pet..

Aw man. They left out my favorite part!!
When Al tells Yoki they were "never friends" and Mei yells "Oh Al you're so cool!"
*pouts*
Anyways, animation on Envy was alot..smoother this time. Less CGI looking. And I loved when Marcoh took him down. The animation was brilliant.

Looks like Envy's karma decided to reciprocate...
Do you think the reason they excised the Ran Fan vs. Envy fight was because they wanted to sustain Envy's dignity until this moment...thus making it all the more shattering and impressive?

The Ran Fan vs Envy fight was no blow to Envy's dignity or credibility as a fighter, since he was holding back then, not using his true form which would have likely been too much for her to handle.
I do wish they had excised THIS pointless and rushed fight though, so the future
trashing of Envy by Mustang would look more shattering and impressive.

Ahem (must clear thoughts of manga chapter 104 from my head)
Whee! It was actually kinda funny watching Envy get thrown around like that. It's not very often you get to hear a homunculus scream in surprise (and get launched many feet into the air). But then when he transformed I became scared of him again... He even scared me as he was defeated. Envy is now officially the grossest thing in FMAB. His wormy form is kinda cute though...

Its voice is perfectly hilarious.
Man, if I was Mei I would so not want to leave all those awesome people, with only a strange creature in a jar for company either! Of course it would also suck to be a strange lizard creature who wanders around having flashbacks of his dear friend dying.
I'm still deciding whether or not I'd like Olivier Armstrong as a big sister...
And the creepiness of Amestris' army continues... I will not be sleeping well tonight! Or all week until Ed gets better

I have a much different view.
I think this was the important fight with Envy, and the Roy battle was unncessary afterthought to the Hughes thread, and Envy was better defeated by Marcoh. It meant more than Marcoh defeat him, not for a stupid reason like revenge, but because it showed that the seemingly weak Marcoh had inner strength, and stood up for himself finally against an enemy who belittled humans. Envy's suicide should have been after this.
I thought the battle with Roy and Envy later was awful, predictable and only served to feed the bloodlust of the readers. Not to mention that getting revenge on the trigger man, rather than the one who ordered the hit is just stupid, even from a revenge point of view. Other than the Rush Valley arc, it's my least favorite part of the manga.

It was a pretty good episode, major complaints is about the music. Like, at this point, it almost feels like it's too late to introduce new music... which, honestly, I doubt they even will.
The Envy battle wasn't anything special, although it was satisfying enough, I guess, considering I never quite understood why people thought it was so awesome in the manga to begin with.
Sure, we get so see Marcoh act up and show he's got some will, and yeah, it's cool seeing Envy get devolved to his true form. But it never really hit me emotioanally. But even so, the manga did it slightly better in that aspect; Marcoh just seemed more regret- and pitiful there, through the story, and we had seen a bit more of him.
Anyway, the only thing that bugged me about the fight itself was the fact that there was no blood. Envy gets completely and brutally assaulted, and there's not a single drop of it. It's all just way too clean, for my tastes. I'm sure there was blood in the manga. Even when Scar does his "I-destroy-you-now!!"- alchemy there's no blood here (from what we get to see, granted, they cinematically zoomed out quite a bit).
Also, Envy's voice was a little off here and there , I must say. I don't think his VA made it sound painful enough x] And don't get me started on the fetus/worm/larvae thingy; that voice was too comical for me. Buuut not a big deal...
Oh no, Mei Chan is leaving, how TRAGIC. Really. I was barely sarcastic. It felt a bit sad. Probably the music's fault. But I felt her leaving was a bit unneccessary in the manga, and I also remember thinking that it felt a bit unlikely. On second thought though, maybe it isn't. First I just thought she was too easily convinced by other people telling her what to do. But she is a kid after all, and when all the adults go "Mei, you should go home", it's not really weird that she listens to them, I guess.
What IS unlikely though is how the heck Al & co made it to Liore in the blink of an eye. Amestris must be much smaller in reality than it looks on the map.
Next time we get to see Winry naked father reconcile with son, and also some badass homunculus action, if I am not mistaken. Oh, and Ed will be back. I haven't really missed him, to be honest.

haha everyone's too caught up in chap 104... what i'm most upset about was that they didn't show al's somewhat shockingly disturbing and hilarious face!! and they really ought to have wrapped up with at least the exclamation of 'YOU??' instead of an awkward silence. hm. average ep is average.

Didn't everyone look good in this episode? I won't go too deeply in to it as that's a different thread but Scar looked calmer, Winry and even Mei looked older, Marcoh had even improved I think. Yoki....moving on...
Those two woman have a thing about walking by that hut?
Agreed that Envy is cute. I know he is meant to look pathetic so we no longer fear him...but might it work against that him looking cute/funny?
Now that's how brothers and sisters usually get along, lets be honest. Least Olivier is acting like most sisters, poor Alex.
Music for me was also a tad...been there done that as well as irritating.

I liked it much. The animation was very good, especially when Envy transformed into his biggest form. And he had such cute voice when he was worm-ish like :3 I didn't think it was OOC or something, the truth is he is really pathetic in reality. I laughed at his goofy nature as well (when he rocked forth and back when talking to Al

). Marcoh proved his badassery. Mei likes Al very much, doesn't she? I found the discussion between Alex and Olivier bit too comical, but I guess it was ok.
I have one mayor complaint, though - Where the hell is new music and why isn't here any? They should have compose a lot more for such long series and some characters or events are PLEADING for their own themes. I'm sure it would be much more interesting if they added themes to the important scenes.

The manga will always be better then the anime. So there the end with that.
As for this EPISODE. I LOVED IT. I forgot how epic it would be, and forgot how much I LOVED this chapter of the manga!!!!
I loved Marcoh against Envy!
So great, but the ending with Olivia gave me goosebumps!! It was very well done! Finally back into the action!

Agreed with zonkiethegreat the manga is mostly going to outdo the anime, so there's nopoint arguing and complaining over it.
As for the episode, it was great. I think what the anime gave us here was the voice acting on Envy, was far superior than anything I came up with in my head. She gave the whole scene such energy. What I like about Envy is that he's a middle man and he's very aware of this and is very furstrated by it. So he delights in picking on those he deems beneath him, and so his anger when those he sees as lesser than him, start to disobey or defy him, he gets furious. He's probably more arrogant than Pride in a lot of ways, seeings as he usually refers to himself as 'I, Envy' It's like he's constantly vying for people to pay attention to him and give him the respect her believes he deserves and the voice actress captured that perfectly here. I also love how cute his small from voice is, it's not how I imagined it at all.
I don't really have more to say other than I'm sure all the AlxMay fans were sad to see a little shippy scene with Al and Winry talking about May gone, while I'm sure Funimation is breathing a sigh of relief that they dont have to try and make THAT pun work (though Viz did give a good alternative). I also like that they explained Scar and Marcoh's buggering off as well.
Oh hello... chimera person. Bido? Yeah Bido was his name. I like that they changed things so Bido was present for Greed's defeat in one way, buuuuut it also makes no sense. Why didn't Wrath know he was there? Ouch, plot hole. Least he's present and correct.
And Olivier is a badass, yeha yeah moving on.
Next week; how many chapters they gonna cover? I'm curious, I am looking forward to see more Greed and some fun times with Ed and the awesome Chimera

Hmm...Assuming the manga ends between chapters 108-110, and this ep was chapter 80-81? I think we got about 23-27 more episodes left in this series. perhaps Arakawa has rushed the anime, so that the ending will somewhat coordinate with the manga's final release. I dunno, just a guess!
I'm not sure what the heck is going on with that lizard-chimera bido either??? How does he know Greed is still around? And huh??? That scene threw me off a bit too.
I also noticed how they have already shown the immortal army to Olivier, isn't it a bit early???

Arakawa has nothing to do with the anime. It's made by BONES, Arakawa is not involved with its production, she's busy enough writing her own manga.
I think the anime team expected the manga to be done around now or before now honestly. Instead they're cutting it very close as they'll probably be ready to animate the final episodes (assuming the series is 63 episodes as rumoured) around April-May time since episodes take months to animate. If the manga isnt done by then I have no idea what they'll do.

Just watched it subbed. Pretty excellent.
I still think Marcoh's big moment looked a little better in the manga. You could barely make out what was going on here, and they split it up with the commercial break.
Envy's transformed state looked way better in this episode than when it first appeared. And his little form is hilarious.

As for the stuff only anime could portray, I liked a lot the slightly wavering voice of Hawkeye when answering to Wrath, as much as the "We were being manipulated by something like
this?" of Scar XD. On the other hand, Envy's true form is too cute (and its voice too hilarious) for him. I like it better in the manga.
The battle against Envy was very good. "Beautiful" is the right word, I think. Except for that little thing... no blood AT ALL. I can't get to understand why. Maybe BONES ran out of money for red paint, that would explain why the little one with a gaudy coat isn't here.

It may be because this is the part of the manga I remember the less, but I'm happy to know a reason for Olivia to help with the blood crest. That always seemed stupid to me... until now. And she is waaay bigger than the higher-up guiding her XD. I also like the other added explanations. As for that, if the plan was to crush the tunnel in order to buy time, why didn't they do that till the eclipse was over? No logic in letting everything happen.

I'm so late...again...
Hawkeye looked...I donno, really good. I had asolutely forgotten about that scene.
I thoguht Marco vs Envy was great, and really creepy/discusting. Marcoh was awesomely animated.
And Scar looked extra hot ^^
I'm watching on youtube with swedish sub, and I don't know what to think...it's weird. And OMG xD, they translated "Nii-san" to, like, "Bro'", hahaha
Lol, poor Yoki-san...
I acctually think Envy looked kinda cute when he was in the jar. And he sounded cute too.
wow, I'm kinda fangirling over Scar now...He's so awesome in this episode.
Aww, Mei-chan...And what are Scar and Marcoh gonna do now, eh? kukuku....
Ok, I've changed my mind; The swedish subs are awesome, they use words that fits PERFECT (most of the time)!!
Oh, Olivier is so badass!
Yey, I missed Hohenhiem!! I loved these chapters in the manga!
But the swe sub said that next episode is called, like "Step on it", you know like, the gas... O.o
