Here, the quick translation is done, and as usual I'll be back later and re-read it and make finer adjustments. For now, you can get the fairly good idea of what's going on in this chapter with this, I believe. ^^ Wow, I'm pooped out, mentally, from translating this chapter (in a good way.) Be back sometime later and check for typos and all that jazz. ^^
ETA: I just re-read the translation, and it really needs refinement! XDD I'll be back later and clean up my quick version of translation. (Right now my cold medicine is making me feel too foggy to think clearly for this. XD) Till then, don't take this one as the final version. ^^
I think Al will be reunited with his body, I don't think all this has been in vain. However, I don't see Riza's storyline quite as happy. Maybe she will survive, who knows??? Maybe it wasn't fatal??? But I honestly think they may have killed her. As for Royai fans, (although this is very tragic) I'm sure that if she is "dieing" then Roy will probably have some sort of profession of emotions or love in the next chapters.
However, yeah...its hard to believe that she is just dead. I don't think its quite over yet.

Am I reading too much into it, or does "Father" look as if he is carrying a baby? I know having Hoho in his stomach will make it bulge like that but the whole taboo is creating life isn't it? Vice-versa Hoho helped give life to Father...Father unaturally creates "life" etc

When I heard the spoilers, I got all "Eee!" because of the whole "I'll follow you into hell" thing. I mean, you guys can totally see that happening, right? Well my friend called me as I got out of class, telling me the spoilers were wrong, and that what happened was much worse. I'm kinda freaking out right now. Rizaaaa. T_T There's a part of me that wants her to die, because it will likely make the story stronger, more powerful, less cheesy. But the fangirl side of me--the one who LOVES Riza--is BEGGING for her to live!

If Roy retained more than just knowledge about the spinal cord when he was researching a way to heal Havoc maybe he'll be able to help. If not there is May and Marcoh, and Al probably didn't bring that stone with him when he went into the gate.

I don't think anyone wants Riza to die. If anyone did, then it was just to further the plot. I mean FMA isn't really a romance. But yeah, its really sad and horrible if she really is dead. But hey?? I think ignorance was bliss in this case: while I wanted to know more last night, I'm almost wishing I could un-learn what I know now. I'm really NOT liking where this is headed, but considering Arakawa's the master of surprising us, I'm going to hope that whatever lies ahead is good. Then again, I really actually didn't expect the end of this chapter to occur... But as people have been saying, it's just a bit too quick to really make me think Riza's fate is sealed. It happened in a split second; given the right circumstances, it can be mended in the sam amount of time.

I agree with this, Riza might be in a dire situation which might cause Roy to open the doors. But I can't see Arakawa killing her just like that. But the wait for next month's chapter is going to be awful. Such an evil cliffhanger.
Overall this was a great 100th chapter. I especially love the moments when Ran Fan and Ling were crying.

I'm a bit disappointed that it seems that Arakawa has done something that most people really were expectingand it's not just my dislike for Royai, and I can't help but be worried because Riza is one of my most favourite characters in the series... But I'm not going to jump to conclusions. I honestly don't believe she would kill Riza off this way. It just happened too quickly and it was too predictable. Arakawa's got to have something up her sleeve...

Wow.
I haven`t been able to follow FMA for the last 2 months, so checking up on it to find this is really intense.
I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I can`t see Riza surviving this. At least, not without the help of an alchemy-related treatment that Arakawa might reveal in the next chapter.
She had her throat slit. That`s almost guaranteed death, unless the wound stops before her trachea. But I have a feeling it`s deeper.
If her jugular was sliced, then she has minutes to live. Not only is there a rapid loss of blood when the jugular it cut, but there also is a high chance of air embolism. To combat these factors requires more than a makeshift tourniquet and compression. Now, if only the trachea was sliced, she has a much better chance of not bleeding to death. However, because of the open airway, the blood will pool in her lungs and collapse, causing her to literally drown in her blood.
Of course, with Arakawa anything is possible, especially at this point. And this is a story about alchemy. So there is a chance for some crazy turnaround.

Agreed that the chapter's a bit on the WTF? But at the same time, necessary filler is necessary filler as it sets up everything else.
And as I've been saying, there's no way that Riza's going out like that - it's just too...dunno, clichéd.

That's nowhere near as WTF? as a white fog coming out of nowhere and taking some people to somewhere in a very 4th dimension fashion and Riza following Mustang through the gate he opened because some evil dude teased him into doing. lol

Well, I sure hope that she survives, but I'm a rationalist, and I think it's over for her. After what happened, I don't want some alchemist like Mei to come out of nowhere and heal her, that would be too "You got your throat sliced in a highly emotional and frustrating cliffhanger? No problem, you'll live".
I'll make a full opinion when the full translation is released but something caught my eye in the raw. On the last page, I can't help but notice that the blood seems to be spurting from the wrong place? I don't want to give people false-hope, I might be wrong and it might be an art mistake, but it looks more like the blood is coming from the side of her neck or solder than anything. That being said, everything else up to that point screams throat cut so I have no idea. I'm sure no matter what happens, it'll be handled well. No character so far has had what I would call a 'Boba Fett' death (Hooray for geeky Star Wars references) and a character like Hawkeye, whose massively popular and seems to be something a favourite of Arakawa (I'm guessing, she turns up in ALOT of her Omakes) will, if she dies, have a death that is anything less than what she deserves.
That being said, anything is possible and she may end up surviving, you never know.
