I recommend Gantz.
There's graphic violence and graphic nakedness. So its not for the young uns and faint of heart lol
Overall though the storyline is good. The animation is good as well.
I just heard about this series! XD Just waiting for someone to recommend it, thanks!

I recommend Ima, Sokoni Iru Boku (Now and Then, Here and There), especially for those of you who enjoyed Elfen Lied. It starts out a little childish, but it morphs into a very deep, touching show (I'll admit, I've cried at least once while watching it.) I'm not really one say that the younger members shouldn't watch it, but if you have a hard time with torture, non-graphic rape, and semi-graphic death this probably isn't an anime for you.

Scrapped Princess is a pretty good anime. There isn't much blood (if any at all) and no extreme nudity. The most nudity would probably be a 15 year old with a towel on. But the story line is good and there is a bit of comedy in it.

Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi ( god i hate that title)
bought the box set at Otakon this past weekend for around $35.
the art, animation (or lack thereof), character designs and the humor is so over the top, so hilarious, I wish this series lasted more than just 13 episodes.
Safe to say that this is my best anime purchase ever.

DNAngel! DNAngel! DNAngel!!
It's really good really!! The drawings are cool!

I reccomend Genshiken- The story follows a group of misfit anime lovers and their struggle to keep their anime club from being disbanded. The anime is light comedy and I think that it is a great anime to watch with your own anime club. The characters are bizzare and their antics are particularly amusing. I think that all anime fans can find something that they relate to in this anime. I wouldn't reccomend it to younger fans though.
Aug 17 2006, 10:59 AM
I recommend Gantz as well.
Aug 27 2006, 05:02 AM
I recommend Paradise Kiss and Honey and Clover. Both have really good plots and are really funny.
Aug 28 2006, 08:48 PM
School Rumble, if you want to die laughing
it's really nice and funny, and it doesn't matter if you miss an episode. it's easy to follow the story
Aug 29 2006, 08:09 PM
I only know about about Peacemaker Kurogane and Kenchin. Anymore you can help me find?
Aug 29 2006, 08:44 PM
Let see... the only other samurai anime I know is:
Samurai Deeper Kyo
and there another one but I don't know what its called but I think it called samurai 7 or something like that I'm not sure.
These are the ones I heard about but the only one I watch is Samurai Champloo. It pretty good.

Aug 29 2006, 09:07 PM
Samurai Champloo is really good. Along with Samurai X I think it's called.
Aug 29 2006, 09:11 PM
@InsaneFangirl Your welcome glad to help.
Samurai X is good but I only seen the movie. I never seen the ova.
Aug 29 2006, 09:33 PM
I like Samurai Champloo, but it's somewhat an aquired taste, IMO.
It's more of grown up Samurai anime, and rich in Japanese caltural/historical references.
Anyone who are expecting kid samurai anime might/might not get disappointed.
BTW, have you checked Anime recommendations
thread?? You may get some additional recommendations there, too.

i don't watch samurai shows much.
but there is one...
does anyone know Ran the Samurai Girl?
i don't know if this is the correct title or if they edited it, but it's good.
it's like, a female Kenshin.
it's short and simple, but.. i don't know. i enjoyed watching it.

something, that wasn`t mentioned yet:Uninhabited Planet Survive
- (or Mujin Wakusei Survive) it`s actually kids show, but it`s still awesome. It`s very colorful. It`s very cute. There`s high attention to characters developing. There`re lots of adventures. There`s a lot of switching of places and decorations.
There`s something weird about the ending - it`s too quick. They put so much information and action in the very last episodes, that you get confused a little.
But still, i highly recommend this show!Howl`s Moving Castle
- really amazing movie! It has nothing unnecessary. I`ll say just, that as you watch it, your eyes widen, your jaw falls down on the floor and remains there till the end of the movie.
Besides, i put those (just for support):Vision of Escaflowne
- i liked very much its bad guy psychos
I must say, that each next episode had surprised me. There`re cute "anime typical" love story. And also the SOUNDTRACK is AMAZING.Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
(little note: in the beginning i was very confused by Nausicaa`s outfit. She wears some tight bright colored pants. But it seemed to me, that she wears NOTHING!
)Princess MononokeFullmetal Alchemist
with all its OVAS, series and movie!!!
Sep 1 2006, 07:33 PM
Shrine of the Morning Mist is rather amusing. I got it today and I love it.
Sep 27 2006, 06:12 PM
I'm not sure if anybody already mentioned this anime/manga, but I would have to recommend Black Cat
. It has humor and action and it gets slightly addicting.
Sep 28 2006, 09:20 PM
One of my favorites animes, I love to recommend is DNAngel. If you like that whole Dark( I love him!) vs. Light. And a little bit of romance, and action all mixed. I love how its so unique, and the history of the Niwas. Oh, also it has a bit of thief in it.

Neon Genesis Evangelion.....is one of the best animes that i have seen
Oct 9 2006, 11:46 PM
To recommend something little less well-known: Gungrave. Extremely unappreciated. All but the first episode are excellent.
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Most original anime in a long time.
Genshiken. It's an anime about anime geeks (i.e. us). What more can you ask?
Oct 11 2006, 04:13 PM
I reccommend Eureka seven....cuz its good
Oct 17 2006, 01:00 PM
For the person that mentioned Howl's moving castle. The movie is cute, but at first see, it made no sense. I actually read the book, and it's quite nice. Book's plot is kinda boring, no war, not much excitment. But at least it makes sense.
Oct 26 2006, 08:15 AM
I would reccomend Gantz, although if FMA is too dark for you , then it's not your thing, on a lighter note i'd recommend Avatar, although it's "made in america" it's a really good show, believe it or not.

if your looking for another "azumanga dioh" like anime i would suggest "Kanon"
although the art is not the BEST infact its not even good but you do get used to it and Kanon is a fun kooky and actualy tear jerking anime

Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin, ruroken ovas, get backers, if you like kind of cliched shounen action anime, inuyasha or yuyu hakusho (or naruto if you think you can endure it) , bleach
Nov 28 2006, 07:26 PM
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Dec 1 2006, 08:31 AM
Well I see too many animes so I rather have a long recommendation list.
Beyblade G -revolution.
Detective School Q
Yu Yu Hakusho
R.O.D. The TV
Dec 1 2006, 03:24 PM
I don't know that many anime.
But like Drakenzar says:
Beyblade G-Revolution (the 3rd season is awesome)
And good ol' Pokémon.
And FMA completes the list, sad no....

i watched an anime that was A &%$# MASTERPEICE
watch "full moon" it was so awsome! like second place to fma in my mind
(so the begining is a little boring but late on its so incredibly adictive)
Dec 20 2006, 06:42 PM
Elfen Lied, Elfen lied, what the heck is it?! I saw a commercial but it looked kinda boring. How many episodes are in it? If I can find a box set of all the episodesvthen maybe I'll check it out. Oh yeah, ~FMAgurl~ it's okay that Trigun was replaced. I loved it, but I LOVE Ghost in the shell. I used to hate it, but then I understood what it meant and loved it. It also has really good music. I have the chorus part of the "Stand alone complex 2nd GIG" for my sig. I love it ^^. While I can, I reccomend:
Ghost in the shell
Naruto (For those who don't watch it)
Ninja nonsense (Totally awsome)
Strawberry Marshmellow (an anime your little sisters would like)
Nerima Daikon Brothers
Pani Poni Dash!
I'd reccomend alot more but I don't wanna take up too much space ^^.

Dec 27 2006, 07:57 PM
Prétear(an interesting shojo), Zatch Bell is cool, and well... I did like Beyblade, although I don't think it was very popular
Dec 30 2006, 02:23 PM
Elfen Lied's great actually. 13 episodes in all, rated R for graphic ness though.
I strongly reccomend Eureka Seven. It's a gorgeous anime. I cried like 5 times, Just see one episode in Japanese, that's all I ask. It starts out that a boy named Renton Thurston's growing up with his grandfather and is sick of his small town life, he has no friends as they all think Renton's weird, and there's virtually nothing to do in the town except for Renton's favorite hobby reffing((kinda like surfing in the sky on "trappar waves")). That is until one day the most beautiful girl Renton's ever seen falls out of the sky with a mecha in disrepair...
Serial Experiments: Lain's a good one as well, there are only 13 episodes and its really trippy but it's very deep once you get past the first couple ones. It starts out that one day a girl from the main character ((Lain))'s school jumps in front of a train and commits suicide, Lain's classmates are very upset, that is until they start getting emails from the girl...

I recommend Ouran High School Host Club. It's a great comedy anime
And I strongly recommend ppl to watch more than 2 episodes. Because most of the people dislike the first episode, after I kept telling my friend to watch further episodes, they loved Ouran too
Ouran High School Host Club, remember to watch more than at least 3 episodes
Jan 7 2007, 07:45 PM
