I love comic books and I love manga. I love Fullmetal Alchemist and I love Spider-man(pre one more day retcon) and X-men. I love Hiromu Arkawa art as well as Noboru Watsuki, Akira Toriyama and Tite Kubo and I love Jim Lee, Joe Mad, Marc Silverstri, Bruce Timm, Adam Kubert, ect.

Now how you feel if American comic artist draw tributes or commission of your favorite Fullmetal character or characters. How would you think it would look.

Some artist might overdo Muscles and cleavages though.

Chris Bachalo might do a good job, example http://comicartcommunity.com/gallery/detai...?image_id=30173

I would love to see Jim lee draw Roy and Ed Mguiness draw Ed and Al.

Mark Bagely of Ultimate Spiderman can draw teenage heroic characters, I think he would do Ed and Winry justice. Check out his teen Peter parker, I could see Ed face in him if drawn by a him.

Jim Lee example of the x-cast

Arthur Adams is good one too

Alan Davis is a great example

Joe Mad might draw a mean looking Ed and Al with a good fight scene. Example of Tim Drake Robin.

Some artist are so bad that I'm curious and would laugh to see them draw the characters. A Rob Liefeld Ed and Roy might look hilarously bad with the way he draw the faces and his anaomty. Here's a example.

Mike Turner draws good and God Rest his Soul, he might draw Riza and Winry in a body that seem impossible to maintain postition, then again, Scott Campell might ruin them and make them your typical slutty looking females. example.

Greg Land who drawings consists of Celebrity magazine traces and poses might draw Ed and Winry with faces of the High school musical kids and Roy and Riza having Tom Cruses and Jessical Alba face and a Mr and Ms Smith pose. An Example.

Terry Dodson might make the girls look a little too hot.

I hope this thread is worthy to be kept, if its not and it had to be moved somewhere and deleted, then I apologize in advance.

I don't know a lot of the people you've named. (I'm going largely off memory from years ago) But Mark Bagley is fantastic. He'd probably be able to do the Homoculi and a number of the military guys pretty well too.

I know he's a joke in the industry, but I actually think Rob Liefield might be able to do a decent Ed and maybe Al. Seriously.

Adam Kubert has a fairly cartoony and thin style, he might be able to do something interesting with them.
Bryan Hitch might be able to do the military characters well.
Maybe Leinil Francis Yu?

(artists overdoing muscle and cleavage seems a bit unlikely considering FMA having a ridiculous amount of ridiculously musclular people. And also Lust)
Heroes Die
The things that I appreciate about FMA's current style are the simplicity, range of emotion, and curious goofiness that comes into play. I think that a lot of the American artists would try and add too much to FMA: more cleavage, more drama, more THINGS everywhere, trying to go for shock impact. They tend to rely on the fact that their drawings of skimpily clad women are what will sell the comics and not on good storytelling.
But if I had to pick from those...Chris Bachalo, Mark Bagely, or Joe Mad would be my picks. More realism, less bulging, gag inducing, muscly men and busty, bursting women.

Rob Liefeld drawing Ed,, I could see him giving Ed pouches and a transmuting a big freaking gun that he shouldn't be able to lift. Fighting like this

I would hate to see him draw Winry like this. No actually yes, just to laugh.

Greg land would be funny

What's the name of the guy who came after Bagley on Ultimate Spider-Man... ah, right, Stuart Immonen! This guy could actually draw the whole series for me, his drawing is made to move and is so fluid! But as far as "posters" go, and I think that's the point of this thread, I think he would do a good job too, especially the monsters!

Mark Bagley would be good too, the guy is made for posters and would be perfectly suited to make this kind of tribute work.
