A/N: This poem/song was inspired by two things: 1) A couple of my favorite anime ships, mostly Ed x Winry, but also Hoshino x Tanabe from Planetes (it's not a very well-known series, but it's really, REALLY good. I highly recommend you check it out if you haven't yet). And 2) while my dad was in Iraq, he heard "My Immortal" by Evanescence for the first time and said he loved the idea behind it...but it was too sad/depressing because "the chorus was in past tense instead of present tense." So he asked me if maybe I could take the same concept and do my own thing with it. I guess this is it. biggrin.gif

I wasn't really trying to write anything particularly deep or angsty or meaningful; the words just sorta popped out. So...yeah. Hope you enjoy this. smile.gif

I'm trying to break these walls down

That was wonderful! Seriously, I'm touched. That was very beautiful and heart-rending... Yes, I really do love EdWin... Anyhow, you are very talented writer, you know.

Aww, thank you. I've always loved their relationship (especially in the manga), so it was only a matter of time before I started writing about it. I also have a three-chapter EdWin fanfic hiding in the closet, but I'm a little nervous to share it... O.o Lol, maybe I'll bring it out after I finish it and polish it up a bit...or maybe I won't...gah, I don't know... biggrin.gif

Oh come on, why would you not share it with us? I would be eager to read it. You really shouldn't worry so much, nobody's going to pick on you anyway. And I bet your story is good. =)
