Well I don't think Hohenheim will be the one to get Al's body back. In the same chapter you are talking about Ed could not get Al's body back because it was not his body. I am pretty sure if anyone is going to get Al's body back it will have to be Al himself.

Why do people NOT want a happy ending? Having everyone die in the end just makes the whole story pointless. Obviously, we wouldn't want a totally fluffy ending, but I know that's not what Arakawa would do anyway.

I want a happy ending. I dont like that whole "someone has to die to make the story meaningful" thing.

I really wouldn't mind Ed keeping his automail at the end though. After all, when it came to restoring their bodies, Ed began his journey mainly to get Al back to normal.

And I know I've said this many times already but. "I WANT DENNY AND MARIA TO CONFESS THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER!"

I think people automatically assume that a happy ending would be corny. But of course that does not have to be the case. Personally I expect the ending for FMA to be generally happy. However a generally happy ending does not mean everything will be perfect and everything that happened before will suddenly be negated. As you said a happy ending does not have to equal a fluffy unrealistic ending.

As for character deaths I agree. I don't mind when they are used to push the story and/or characters forward. But I hate when they are there just for shock value or just to make things more sad. Personally I feel this is a lazy way to tell a story.

Personally, I would really like a happy end, but...

I almost forgot about that! It brings up an interesting point. If Hohenheim feels the loss of her organs represent her sin, does that mean he doesn't think his sons being restored is the answer? But then again, his sons were kinda ignorant on the grand scheme of what they were doing as children. I know Hohenheim was also working toward becoming human again, but unlike others he never commited sin, he was just a pawn. Hmmm...

Hmm... I never thought about whether Izumi will get her organs back. I don't see any reason why she shouldn't be able to if Ed and Al can get their bodies back. What a tragic twist of fate it would be if she was now too old to have kids! (Not that I think this would happen).

The quote right before that Winry and Al's discussion about crying. It still bugs me - What will that "something wrong" be?

Also, that "bloody tears" also appear when he sees Al's body and console armor Al later. (And with Winry and gun if I'm not mistaken). So it's too big to be coincidence...

EDIT: Wow, I've just read an oold topic, where somebody mentioned sins' deaths presented in "Dante's Inferno". Guess what? Sloth dies by countinious running - and what our homunculus were doing the past few chapters?

^^ Interesting! I think I remember reading something like that a few years ago, but forgot. What was the way the rest of them died?

I'm getting anxious for the next chapter!

With the way this one ended, I feel like we'll see the end of Sloth the next chapter, which leaves: Wrath, Pride and Greed. o_o;;

I think we'll see also Maria Ross and Brosch joining the battle.
