I've only listened once, but my reaction is like Jealous Rogo's first one. Just "another generic anime ending". It was okay, but yeah.

The ending looked really boring as well. Compared to all the detail, the laughs and the story in the previous ending...

Plus dark blue skies in the intro and ending just don't look right to me. :\ (Ling's crew and Mei Chan's bit looked okay though)

Why crap? I think it's pointless to make a whole ED about Winry ("Motherland" anyone?) with 3 seconds animations with May and RanFun, besides most of these are just pics, not even animations, it looks like some kind of AMV from series "Winry Rockbell's Day". I think better idea would be more screentime for RanFun and May, adding Izumi, Olivier, Riza and making it all-FMA-girls-ED. It's not like I'm Winry hater but I don't really like her (actually I don't like characters that are like her), so yeah, I think only Winry's fangirls/boys will like this xP Ok, I won't just flame this one - I think song isn't bad, I kind of like it. It is similar to LET IT OUT - song is decent but animations are kind of boring, too simple and all~

I agree. Riza, Olivier and Izumi should've been in the ED, too. I don't like that it's all about Winry.

Mei and Xiao Mei scene was cute but short, and I felt sorry for RanFan with her sleeve blowing in the wind T_T Bones definitely has something against Riza.

The song's not that bad though.

One of my first thought after seing the new opening was "hey, no Winry?" But that's because the whole ending was just for her! Why? I mean, she's not such a major character, it would have made more sense if it was Hohenheim, or even Trisha. Is there that many Winry fangirl/fanboy? My favorite part was Ranfan and Mei, but even them seem like they were thrown in randomly o_O

i like the new ending song tis a bit annoying its all about winry, id have preferred if it had all the girls in in equal amounts or at least winry mei ranfan and RIZA in equal amounts, the xingese characters made the ending awkward and inballanced cause they were just randomly there for a few seconds xD on the plus side, the images were pretty and the phone conv part is foreshadowing (aww edwin <3) i don't mind it though, winry is the central female character to the plot, its ok for her to get an endin to herself and she isnt in the opening at all

Like a lot of people, I don't like that is was just about Winry with Mei and Ranfan (who looked very pretty in her 3-5 seconds, and was the only reason I watched it again) thrown in at the end. Hawkeye and Olivier should have been added as well. :<

I also really didn't like the style of it....just a bunch of still images with some animation at the end.

Ugh....I can't believe we have to watch this for another 11-15 weeks! D:

OT: Contradicting a lot of people, I don't really think that they have a thing against Hawkeye......wait, what the hell, she's the most popular female character in FMA in the poll and probably the most important female character plot-wise and she got 1/2 second in the OP and nothing in the ED! What the hell, BONES? At least the Royai is always pretty epic.

The OP images are dark, they are about war and evil. Would we want that in the End too? I doubt it.

I like Winry, but I'm not keen on the ED credits and I really dislike the song. I think the point of it, if you can argue there is one, is Winry represents "normality". While all others are fighting monsters, the military and their own inner demons, she as a character is currently having a pretty calm time of things.

However, in terms of episode count, she won't be out of the picture living normally for long, so her featuring SO much in the credits is silly. It's not the first time FMA has done it, and certainly not the only anime to have.

I can already picture the horrific inconsistency with the life or death cliffhangers that will precede those credits.

I think that maybe there is so much focus on Winry because Ed is the main character and she is connected to him. Well that's just my theory. I would rather of had an ending that focused equally on all the FMA girls as well (because I love them all).

I did like that the ending showed Winry working and not just waiting!

Winry is probably my least favourite character of all the FMA 'girls'. She is important, sure--because of Ed. So having the whole ending (other then a couple seconds of the Xing two) devoted to her, does nothing for me.

I liked it, its the first ending featuring the bad guys, and a few seconds for Roy & Riza who almost (for not saying absolutely) didnt showed up in the op.

Seen about half of it but was shocked they used the circle surrounding five laboratories. I just read about it a while ago! They're fast! Must get used to the song....

Roy and Riza probably being in the fifth one, right now, they're just trying plot quietly and not suspiciously in Central.

The ending is awesome. Good song, amazing visuals. It's much better than the 3rd ED. I'm happy than Roy and Riza were in it too, I didn't see them in the OP.
And it has spoilers too, for example the circle under Central, GreedLing with Ed and the chimeras or the new transmutation circle.

I loved the opening! I really loved the bit when Ed and Al ran through each other, looking lost, then everyone appeared around them. I was disappointed at the lack of Hohenheim's past, but eh well, you can't have everything. xD! I can't wait to see it without the chuggy-ness of Keyhole. I was really pleasantly surprised by the ending-- I love the holding hands part at the end and I'm also glad that it didn't just focus on Winry. As well as that it was nice to see Riza's tattoo. : )

Wow, the ending theme is so COOL. Especially the beginning, with the guitar riff and that fast moving tunnel, which will be used to destroy you and all you love (;p). It's a nice change after all that slow-paced pieces, suits FMA a bit more. It has some cheesy scenes (everyone jumping in mid-air, still images and Winry just walking in the hallway), but man, that riff just makes the justice. Can't wait to hear the full version.

I think that this is my favourite ending together with the first one. It's full of action and seems to be a kind of continuation of the opening. They really did a wonderful work.

Anyway I wonder if the fact that they showed Riza's tattoo again, means that maybe they will show Roy burning her back in a kind of filler/flashback episode (even because I doubt that those that haven't read the manga had really understand what happened to her back).

It probably simbolizes Hohenheim's reunion with his children, which happens in this part of the series, he tells his secret to Al,and come to the decision to work together with Ed & Al to put and end to Father's plan.

I wish there were full version of the song already. I check YT every few hours, but I remember there were some different sites with such files. (Imeem, NicoNico and a japanese one, can't remember its name)

I'm amused at how much they toss Hoho about in the ED (yay! happy hoho!) even though up to now he's had a rather limited participation in the story. It almost seems as if they're forcibly trying to emphasise how important he is to the plot, which I find a bit redundant but HEY personally there's never too much Hohopapa

I didn't really get whose hands were touching at the end of the ED. It looked like a child and an adult, so I guess that excludes any of the couples, and Al's hands have grown since he lost his body, any suggestions?

Also interested in that crumbling gate - fancy special effect or carefully planted hint? Seeing the candour with which they plant major spoilers in the OP/EDs I'd love to think of it as plot-relevant...

I cannot express how happy I am we're rid of the crappy OP - this one was also a bit repetitive (and had yet another Naruto-ish LOOK AT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO CARE scene) but the music was alright. Surprising lack of Roy though.

Ending didn't look too bad. : ) Got some Hohenheim in there. Although, unless it was keyhole lagging, I'm afraid we have to suffer the still frames. xD Again, like the opening, I'm not going to comment on the song as such yet because of the slow motion sound lag I always get. But it did sound quite nice. xD

So, the whole ending was about Hoho, Ed and Al. We got young Hoho at the beginning, I remember some people missed him from the previous opening.
The song is nice, now I'm waiting for a better quality to watch it again.

Okay, ED is pretty cool.
Too bad Hoho looks like Ed, or rather Ed looks like Hoho and is OH SO MATURE (in the manga he doesn't look like that, he seems to be more chilidish), while Al's body's face looks kinda like thinner Ed in the manga (no, it isn't like that in the manga). A person who cares too much about details while reading manga, I mean, me, is dissapointed. Big plus for no Winry and not much of Ed, but overall... Man, I'm dissapointed but still, it's better than the third and first one. I'm far more dissapointed by the OP.

5th Ending is a pretty big step down from the 4th if I'm honest, but the fourth was pretty friggin epic.

Between this and the opening, I'm not foreseeing a happy ending to this series anymore, both of them are pretty bittersweet in the their tones, so I expect we'll be getting a bittersweet ending.

The song is nice, I guess. It gets better at the end and we don't know the lyrics yet, but the animation is a big letdown. There barely a few still frames showing nothing in particular. I was hoping for something better.

I'm not feeling this ED as much as I was the OP. I dunno, maybe it's because the last one was so rockin' and kickass and something really different for an ending theme (it almost seemed more like an OP with all the action and what I like to call the "character brigade" sequence) and this one is more or less "back to formula", but I'm not really that impressed. Not terrible, just average.

Golden haired people are from Xerxes (even the souls inside Hoho got some screentime xD)

well the ED theme is in third rate of my ED rates. not bad, really not bad, but not so 'wow' or something that can beat up Shunkan Sentimental.

Ending music is good, I especially like how it starts out. That intro is probably going to replace the pre-ending melody of Shunkan Sentimental's electric one. Which I don't mind at all. I think I like this song better, anyway.

As for visuals... what's the deal with all the Hohenheim? Anyway, a few too many stills for my taste. Slightly disappointed. Bit I guess it's alright.

The song is amazing and all, but having mostly still-frames was a bit of a let-down. If they had animated those pictures just a little bit (heck, even something like clouds moving in the background like Al and house-ones had would have been awesome enough. Just SOME animation!)
I mean, those 1 and half minutes felt so.. wasted. Lovely song, but if nothing really happens on the screen.. What was the point of having an ED video, then? O_o

Beside the hilarious image of Father in the flask which I now have as my desktop, there wasn't much to this ending.

I still think ending 4 was the best FMA ending of them all. I'm really gonna miss that dramatic start. This one is too slow for my liking. Even Let it out and Ending 3 had a good start to them that when plaeyd over the top of action worked, this one... that scene when Al walks out of the smoke and Kimblee says his little 'Yes! Excellent Alphonse Elric!' should've been so dramatic and well... yeah I'm off topic but I can't see this ending growing on me.

WOW I think there were a lot of BIG SPOILERS in both Opening and Ending themes!!!

I think Ed sleeping in bed with Winry sitting by his side is big clue to what will happen after all is done.
