And OP has already cropped up on YT:

Thank you, amestris_star!!
Whoa, that was lightening fast!!
acaray
Thank you amestris_star !!
Young Hoheihem is nice, and Trisha looks young too. It's a good opening, I like it !!

I had strange feelings about OP at first, but now I got to like it. Very much. The best thing about it is storyline - Everything began with that transmutation circle in Xerxes, then was young Hohenheim, then he met Trisha and had children, whom he had left. Young Ed and Al being taken by the Doors were scary to watch o.o And finally, animation, the Ed vs Homunculi thingie was AWESOME

Edit: Yay for young Hoho and Ed doing the same gesture XD "He is exactly like me, when I was young"
edo little kid
Awesome as hell !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woooooooooooooow!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's why I said to judge it when we see the HD quality version of it wink.gif
I'm in love, believe me wink.gif

I like it, I like it very very much, nah, I love it ^^ I like this animation better than ED. I don't understand guys from 2chan, I just simply don't find this moments with Riza and Winry erotic at all, well it's probably because I'm woman xD

Well, if I remember well, Melissa had Winry getting up from bed in just a shirt.
There is nothing erotic in Riza and Winry lip-syncing... Roy and Ed should see that though *evil grin*
Sal_san
O.O

So... awesome...

And the ED's cute too. XD
kelen
Visual and music in opening are great. I like scenes with Hohenheim, Trisha and Ed&Al. Scene with Winry (it's next to scene whene Ed and Al's parts of body/body is taken away) is... strange lol. But fight scens are great. And that sexy Riza is awesome biggrin.gif
amestris_star
Someone should show that Riza part to Roy >D Royai would abound for sure biggrin.gif
Andie
Awesome opening. I think it's quite dark compared to the openings of the first anime, except maybe Rewrite. But I'm not complaining, the story in the manga is not very happy-cheery and it kinda fits.

And the part with Hoho outstretching his arms and Tricha smiling at him and the kids watching the door closing made me all wobly. sad.gif Poor Hoho...

I dunno. There was something about it I can't put my finger on. While I also don't quite get why the guy on 2chan thought so much of it part of me can see why it's hot. Erotic seems to be quite to overstatement though.

While BONES may not do the best OPs I've seen they are amazingly good at "here is the cast being totally awesome out of nowhere" type montages.
FMAobsessed
I liked the opening. I loved seeing a young Hoho in the beginning.
Cece
Best OP ever for Fullmetal Alchemist in my opinion it was wayyyy better than the OP's in the last season I screamed to the top of my lungs when I saw it! It was perfect when the Homunculi came out of each others mouth's because it was so cool. At the beginning when I saw teenage Hohenheim I could have died! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif I'm just so happy.
crazyanimefan
I happen to think the OP is flippng sweet. I recognized right off the bat that it was YUI, whose music I like, but the animation was awesome. Young Hoho and Trisah was adorable, and the lip synching was awesome! I need to watch the rest of the episode.
Little Washu
Wow, I have to agree with Cece, that is much better than the original OPs. I mean, that's (now) my absolute favorite FMA song, and it's just- just- that is SO awesome.
Tombow
Oh, my, I love this opening!!
Right at the start we see young Homenheim!!!!!! Love that part!!
Then, as if it's telling us the story, like, Hohenheim meets young Trisha, and along comes Ed... then Ed does the same movement as Hohenheim did at the beginning for his Alchemy.. nice!! ^^
I like the little "change of scenes" with Riza and Winry also. XD
I think it's done in a good taste. ^^
The music is catchy, and the visual goes well with the music, IMO.
I'm checking the lyrics now. ^^
Little Washu
It seems the single(The full version) has already been released for this one. I'd put a download link, but I doubt that's allowed.

But I do have the .mp3 for those who are interested~

No Xingians in this one, but we are just starting out. Can't wait to see them in future OPs~
Havanese
I love the OP. The song took me a little while to really like, but the animation is simply gorgeous. Just look at the way Ed and Hoho's hands move when they raise them; it looks so natural and real. I loved seeing young Hohenheim, and I hope that they have Ed look like that in later episode as he ages (except, with bangs, of course).

I'm checking the lyrics now. ^^

Here are the English ones for the TV size smile.gif :

Life is still too long for me to want to erase these feelings.
I want to try and redo those things I left undone.

We were supposed to be going after the continuation of our dreams,
but we trip over people on that bent, narrow path.

It's not like we want to return to these times,
we're just looking for the skies we've lost.
Stop making that face,
as if you "sacrificed yourself just so I'd understand."

A sin doesn't end with tears,
you have to suffer and carry the burden forever.
Who are you waiting for in the labyrinth of your emotions,
with no exit in sight?

As I spelled them out in this blank notebook,
I want to release my true feelings more and more.
What do you want to escape from?
That thing called reality?

Makes me want to scream that we live on
to make our wish come true, you hear me?
No way we can stay on the safe side,
so we don't even have a place to go back to.

I'm always thankful for kindness,
so I want to become strong. (I'm on the way)

I'm feeling nostalgic.
I'll even welcome that pain.

When and if we are able to post download links, I'll be more than happy to provide one for the full version of this song~
Tombow
Thank you, Little Washu!! *hugs!!* biggrin.gif

Yeah, full version of the song lyrics is pretty long, and I have been slowly working on the OP part, but this helps a lot!! happy.gif
For the full song lyrics, if you'd like to play safe, we can wait till April 22 (I think that's when this song becomes available officially??) ^^
Little Washu
^I actually meant the full version of the song in .mp3 format. Popo said that we should avoid posting download links right now, but when/if we're able to, like I said, I can provide one (to add to the first post or something) :3
Tombow
^ Or, if anyone who'd be interested, can contact you by PM?? For now? biggrin.gif
If that's ok with you. ^^
Little Washu
^Sure sure :3 I can provide a link or send via email, whichever is preferred.
(I have the TV Size too, but I think most people prefer the full XD)

And when the karaoke is out, I'll be sure to grab that ASAP ;D
Artixte
Holy mother of alchemy, young hohenheim's appearance made me squeal <3

I managed to find the full mp3 for the opening, it is AWESOME, it makes me dance with the breeze. Haha, it's my ringtone now XD It kind of surprised me though because I was expecting FMA: Brotherhood to have a little more upbeat OP Theme, but Again by Yui works cuz its still catchy and it flows AMAZINGLY well with the OP's animation. I absolutely love it biggrin.gif
zonkiethegreat
I loved it! It had a great fluid movement throughout the whole opening. The music however was OK...I fell like the singer sounds a little too young but eh..whatever. It's still a good op.
Freya_Elric
It was Awesome!!! I love it!!
I have on my mp3 and I listen to it over and over again!!!

(Yay for YUI!!)

That is so amazing and meaningful. I mean, the lyrics radiate FMA from each word!
Notice the parts were Riza and Winry lip-sync? They are almost meant for them!
Ok, stops spazzing XD
Trakonda
Yay, I shall join the club and scream how amazing this new OP is ~

Seriously, none of the openings from original FMA were this awesome, in my opinion. The animation is so smooth, I love the part where everyone stands in a wind and how Ed and Hohenheim move their hands towards the camera, Edward adding some alchemy style to it. :3 That was so.. artistic! *can't find a better way to describe*

And the lip syncing parts.. just amazing. :3

The only thing that bothered me a bit was the battle scene with Ed and Gluttony in the stone bridge-thing. The animation was kind of weird on that one. o.o But heck, amazing OP anyway!

*has the full song in her iPod*
fullmoon
Hehe, jumping on the "amazing OP!" bandwagon as well XD.

Loved it, it was truly a treat to watch and most definitely my favorite opening happy.gif

Tombow-san, i love this aspect of the opening. Most opening don't usually tell us the story so it was so exciting to see it! To see young Hohenheim was great! ( You know at first, In the manga i first thought he was Ed XD) and Trisha looks so pretty.

I just loved seeing Chibi Ed, Al and Winry.
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc298/d...therhood01_.jpg
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc298/d...otherhood-1.jpg

They were so adorable!

and Ed and Hoho raising their hands was simple yet beautiful. I kinda hold my breath when they do it XD.

http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc298/d...otherhood-2.jpg

and the most interesting of the OP would have the be the homunculus XD What a way a fascinating way to introduce them in the OP XD
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc298/d...90405052313.jpg
It's a little creepy but it goes by so fast i don't really notice XD.

I love the song too! It's on my Ipod too and it's the first song i play once I'm out the door XD.
Little Washu
Recently looked through some other BONES OPs, and I gotta say, this one is my favorite. Much cleaner than the others.

Though, it's too bad there's not a sign of the Xingians yet...
His Name is Unknown
This really was a kick butt OP.

My favorite parts are the Homunculi intro (especially Lust's sexy little smirk...I love Lust) and Armstrong yelling (even without sound, that man is hilariously awesome).

As other have said, the storytelling aspect of the first half of the AMV is really great. The segment from Riza's lipsynching of : "A sin does not end with tears" until Roy's finger snapping is epic - that guitar riff set to those images gives me chills every time.

Without hesitation my favorite FMA opening!
SonPan
I thought this OP was really amazing... THe beginning (the story telling of Hoho then the kids) and then the part where Roy and Hughes were back to back and the segment all the way till almost the end was just amazing! How it went with the music and lyrics just gave me chills srsly... biggrin.gif

One word -- perfect!
Meitantei Conan
I like the first Episode, It had Action in it as I hoped it did.
Opening I liked.
Ending I liked.
I love how it still has the short jokes for Ed, Makes me laugh still.
I Love FMA Brotherhood.
temmy
Absolutely adored the opening. It had me from the start with Young Hohenheim and his hands. And then again right when the house burns and the heavy music starts; the flapping cloth amazed me animation-wise there, and there was that hint of nostalgia. I loved the part with Ed on the windy plain. Something about his hair and his expression . . . and his hands.

Mostly, though, I like the hand motions, really. They're so natural.

This one ranks right alongside the third OP (Cool Joke, anyone?) as my favorite. Loved the nostalgia in that one too. I just like nostalgia in general. The entire 'let's-stick-in-childhood-images' always gets me.
Kasumisty
Yeah, that's the nostalgia, that has been the strongest feeling I watched this opening. Hoho and Ed with the same gesture make me melt inside xd

At first I thought this so isn't a FMA opening, mostly coz I'm used to heroic, melodic and melanholic ones like Melissa or Rewrite but after rewatching it, I fell in love. I so adore the lyrics, it matches FMA perfectly! I so love it when Yui starts singing in a more quiet mode when they show young Ed, Al & Winry and then she raises her voice.. it really makes a good contrast! <3

Exactly! The hand motions! I can't help but love the 'Ed in windy plain' - part. :3

And all the nostalgia with childhood memories always hits me, too.
Vagrant
It's pretty damn good.

I didn't like the song at first, but I've gotten used to it and kind of like it now. TELL NO ONE!

I kind of cannot stand anime clichés and conventions and tropes and whatnot...Especially three minute opening sequences featuring a lot of the characters and some non-canon fight scenes to the sound of dodgy J-pop.
But despite the curious ridiculous mandatory fight scene, the opening somehow has a certain level of emotion for me. Like it's not just "Look! Characters!" everything has a sort of history and meaning to it. I dunno. It's hard to explain.
Well, look at the reaction to the young Hohenheim.

Meh. Maybe it's just 'cause FMA has well written characters I'm attached to and not just cardboard cutouts like a lot of other anime.
SneakyRuler
The opening on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBM6Yh9Cbgo (works in Europe at least)

I have to admit I don't like the song, I really don't. Doesn't sound bad, but doesn't seem to fit together with the visual part... well, maybe that will get better as soon as I know the words.
I like the animation with two exceptions - horribly blue sky and similarity with Ready Steady Go opening.
But the overall feeling is good XD
amestris_star
I must admit, the music is 'normal' but the animation is awesome, with a LOT of foreshadowing on future events...
Lust vs. Roy. Oh God it's coming.

Yeah, all because they're rushing... dry.gif Oh well, as long as they animate the fights well I'll forgive Bones! laugh.gif I saw part of Scar vs. Ed too.
Kirara
I loved the new opening it was like literally fanservice to the manga fans. There were scenes from:

Chapter 39, 41, 44-45, 53, and so forth.
Jealous Rogo
The opening works for me, though I have to admit something about the song seems a bit... off but I can forgive that for the absolutely stunning visuals the opening has. I love the fact that Feury, Havoc, Falman and Breda actually get to prominent in opening now. I don't recall them being in any of the original series apart from Undo where they were literally poking their heads in through the curtains to be seen.

I love the action sequences here as well, especially the scene at the end that shows Bradley fighting Lin. That looked absolutely awesome and beautifully animated.

Also loved the foreshadowing here, but mostly I love that they showed Ed throwing Envy into a pillar and the impact absolutely demolishing it. Good indication of things to come, though it's ironic considering the first opening had him and Ed fighting on a structure that only collapsed once Gluttony got involve...

Only thing I have to admit I didn't like, the weird slow motion bit with Scar and Ed at the end. I think it's Scar's face, it's just contorted and weird.

Overall, another great opening for FMA:B in my opinion. So it's already got a better track record than teh original series opening wise (I hated Melissa)
Kirara
Yeah I also loved the prominence that they gave to Roy's subordinates in the opening because I feel with the exception of Havoc and Riza they have been cutting their scenes. So it was nice to see Falman, Breda and Fuery getting some love. smile.gif
Jealous Rogo
Yeah Breda, Falman and Feury usually get the shaft in everything, and even in the original series Havoc was shafted to one side along with them. It's gonna be good to see them all being something other than comic relief.

Aaaand to keep this on topic, did anyone else think the last scene of the opening was alot like the last scene from Undo in the original series? All that was missing was a bird flying off of Al. Not complaining as Undo was my favourite of the original openings. Just surprised me a bit.

Agree! Maybe these scenes are taken directly from the episodes? It's possible?
I think that this opening is great; music is catchy and pictures are well-chosen. I preferred the first but this one still rules.
I don't like very much the ending. Yeah, it's nice, but the first was a masterpiece!
