I just checked FUNimation's site and the video player is FINALLY working again! There's just a note at the top saying they're still working on it, but you can at least get videos.(I'm loading FMA:B 9 at the moment and it seems to be working fine so far).
Just thought I'd let everyone know.

That's weird because for me the whole thing was down until about an hour ago.
I really wish they'd upload Episode 10, already! I've really been staying patient here so I could watch it legally but they are taking way too long. D:

I just can't believe it, this episode, which I'm really wanting to see how they handled it, is the one I'm having to wait the longest to see. =/
Come on FUNi, it aired over a week ago! The next episode is already out!

Ouch. Yeah, I just checked, and the Funimation.com's video portal is down again for "maintenance."
It was up and running normally till this afternoon, although it was showing only up to episode 9, and not ep 10, and some of us have been waiting for ep 10 to come on. Now the portal is completely down again.

(as far as "what's going on," I'm assuming that's the continuation of what has been going on... you can check some of the back posts on this threads for the details. ^^)

And now I'm beginning to doubt they'll have the Video Portal up by tomorrow. Which (also taking into account the fact the video portal was up a few days ago and episode 10 still wasn't up.) leads me to wonder exactly how long we're going to be waiting before we get to see any of the episodes beyond 9. =/

Jun 17 2009, 09:17 AM
Such a shame too that Funi's own video portal is still down...but I'd hope that they would continue to use both their Hulu and youtube portals, as it's nice having multiple avenues to watch the official subs.
Since they've already got a good chunk of episodes translated, part of me would love for them to do what Bandai did for the Gurren Lagann release: sub only dvds first then English/Japanese dub dvds later... I'd double-dip for that.

lol FUNimation's Twitter is acting like we're all supposed to be really excited about episode 9 being uploaded on their YouTube and Hulu.
>_> Episode 12 is going to air soon. The least they could do is upload 10 and 11 on their YouTube or something.
And Hulu really needs to change what they say, because it's false.
" Hulu is able to offer this series on a two-week delay from Japan. "
If we were really getting this on a two week delay from Japan we would have got 9 last Saturday. but it was like uploading this morning or something.

Come on Funi! We're practically on episode 12 and you couldn't at least update your hulu and youtube channels to give us episode 10?!
Hopefully they'll have some answers when I go to their booth at AX...as it'll probably be the first things I ask them about...
If Bandai were handling the license...we'd probably have a release like Gurren Lagann (subs first, dubs later) but they'd probably go barebones for the sub release and then give all the extras for the dub release.

If Bandai has gotten the series we might not have gotten the streams at all. Considering the new episodes of Haruhi Suzumiya are out now and no such similar deal has been arranged. A horrible missed opportunity.
Still I don't really understand why Funi can only put the latest episode on their site. Why can't all the episodes go up on Funi, Hulu, and Youtube at the same time? That way if something goes wrong with one site you have other options. I am guessing there is some clause in the contract that prevents them from doing this but still its a real shame.

Yeah, don't put all of the blame on FUNimation. The problem was the idiot who stole the One Piece episode. If it hadn't been for them, our Fullmetal Alchemist "Simulcast" (if you really can call it that being almost a week a late.) would have gone on like normal.
FUNimation can handle it fine.
I just do wish they'd upload the FMA episodes elsewhere while their Video Portal is down. It's been down for a ridiculously long amount of time, now.

I think, when the OP leak incident happened, the weakness in their system was exposed? Also, if I'm correct, episode 9 of FMA:Brotherhood might have been leaked as well? It was loaded sooner than scheduled, if I recall it correctly.
Whatever the reason, I hope they can get it corrected and open up the portal for FMA fans soon. I'm getting tired of waiting, and ep 10 is/was/has been one of my most anticipated episodes, and I'm still waiting!!

Huh? The whole Video Portal is down, not just One Piece and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
It's down because they're improving the security so the One Piece and Phantom leaks don't happen again.
FMA Brotherhood doesn't have it's own video portal anyways. One Piece is the only one that I know does. (I haven't seen very many of the other sites.)

And seriously, they had to word it so badly. I can't tell whether they're saying it's an answer they're going to give us or if it's an answer they're going to receive themselves. I could see it being either way since tomorrow is the day that they usually upload them.
But why would they need an answer themselves? I thought we were in the clear completely with FMA Brotherhood. If they truly have to get an answer themselves than they might not even have 10 and 11 and much less 12 subbed yet. =/

To be honest with you, I would watch the fansubs, (and I do with certain Animes, but if I can get a hold on official subs, then I would rather watch the official subs.) But I would actually like to know what they are REALLY saying. Instead of people just making up there own stuff and putting in with the video. Thus is why I wait forever to watch on Funimation. I just got done watching 8&9 on Hulu though the other day.

Personally, when I know the official and legal subs will be up really soon I do not dare set foot anywhere near fansubs.
I was really impatient when FMA Brotherhood was first coming out and did watch them, but then I realized I could wait the extra few days to watch it legally.
Now it's really pushing my limits, but I'm pretty sure I will not reach that limit unless FUNimation comes out and says that they can't do the FMA Brotherhood Simulcast anymore.
