The dust of the factory swept up as the wind blew through the giant sliding doors. The factory had been shut down for a long time now and had become Edwards’s research lab for the past two years and now it would become their new way home. "Alright al don't be scarred" Ed told his brother as they wondered in. there were hundreds of scattered sheets of paper all over the floor and markings all over the wall. Countless documents rested on the small desk in the corner and scientific appliances left sitting on another table. "Get ready al" Edward warned him. The two looked up to the giant floating gate and wondered. What would home be like now, after two years things were sure to have changed? "If we can't destroy it" all wondered over to a cabinet and pulled out a large rock. "Then we'll just have to go through it" he added as he walked back up to Edward. "The accumulated ashes and offerings of the people who died to open the gate, along with our blood, we should be able to get through" Edward replied to his younger sibling. The two laid the floor with the materials and then knelt on the floor. The markings on the floor were still visible, even with all the other paper. The two slashed open their fingers and allowed the blood to drop onto the pile of ash. The two then placed their hands to the ground and focused. After a brief pause, Alphonse spoke. “Why isn’t it working?” He questioned his elder brother. Edward smeared his blood on the floor and then, like a flash, the room lit up and everything started moving around. The sheets of paper spiralled up and were sucked up into the void above. The screams that Edward heard as the two were sucked into the void. The things he saw. It was horrible. He never thought he would experience this kind of thing again. He saw his life flash before his very eyes…but then: he heard the whistling of a blue bird. He reached out to touch it. He was wrapped in some kind of light feathery feeling as he spouted wings. He felt like he could do anything…but sadly that was never the case. He felt a sudden plunging feeling. A sudden crash could be heard, the laws of all nature were defied as he hit the floor. He was encased in some kind of crystal like thing. He still had the wings and most strange of all…he was back in central for the first time in what would have been an eternity. He felt almost dead as the coma crept up on him and the loss of feeling came as a merciful blessing. Now he couldn’t think. he felt…lost…even though he was in central, he felt like it had all changed. Like he had just forgotten. Death came for Edward Elric that day. But nature defied and allowed him redemption. The only phrase that suited the event was: this is the true meaning of irony.
