Funimation has acquired the rights to the Fullmetal Alchemist OVAS and dubbing began last year for this project.

Oh, thanks for the news,

I can't wait to see "Chibi party" in official English voice over! ^^
BTW, eventually, I will merge this to FMA OVA thread.

A Funimation spokesperson told ANN that the company is "hoping to make an FMA related announcement at Ohayocon later this month."
Anyone want to bet they're licensing FMA2 and doing a simulcast on Crunchy roll or some such?

Popogeejo, that would be great if they could get it just after the Japan airing and do that.
As for the OVAs, I would love to hear them dubbed into English by the English VAs. They'll release these by streams, I imagine. Can't wait.

Attended the Funimation industry panel at Anime Expo this past weekend, and they had a trailer for the OVA dvd. The trailer itself was fantastic, as they made it look like an 'infomercial'.
Original voices were there, as there's one great bit where you can hear Aaron utilizing his current voice to his advantage for Al.
From what I remember from the panel, the dvd will be out on August 4th, but will be available 2 weeks early at San Diego Comic Con and is priced at about $14.95.
Definitely looks great.
Trailer can be seen on Funimation's youtube channel.

I bought the dvd at comic con international. Haven't opened it since it has a sticker that says "con exclusive".

Ah so they were sold at Comic-con, huh? That's why I've heard that some people have already seen them. Damn, I'm gonna have to wait til its sold in stores!

I had my friend's dad who went to Comic Con pick up the dvd for me. Haven't had the chance to watch it yet, but probably over the weekend I will.
It was cheaper than I thought it would be, as they were being sold for $10 at Comic Con.

Does anyone think that this will be available at Wal-Mart? I remember that there was once a different FMA dvd there... so this one could be there. If it's not I'm going to have to go buy it at a special anime store (which is a hour long drive

)
Just so everyone knows it is NOT available at Wal-Mart
