Small Look At Fma Series 2, 15 Second Teaser inside!

There's a small bit of animation showing Ed, Al and Roy. It's extremely choppy on my computer, and takes a while to work, but it's pretty neat.

Holy mother of God! (And it took forever on my computer, too, but it was so worth it! >_<)

My first thought:

The art style looks closer to that of the manga than the first series did. Especially when they show Ed at the end. Also, it appears that the new series won't be a continuation of the story after CoS, or even after the first series. Much to my disappointment... I was truly hoping for the story of Ed and Al after they were reunited in our world.

My second thought:

Does anyone know what the hell they were saying?! I'd love to know.

Not much to say really. Looks mostly like the original anime with sightly tweaked designs.

Yeah, I found that the second time I watched it, it played perfectly.

And I agree about Roy. They made his eyes look more... Xingese, to be honest. Makes me wonder if it's just the style of the art or if there's some sort of plot line behind it.

It looks slightly different from the original anime... hm, I guess it is an adaption from the manga.

I literally freaked out when my friend sent me a link. I knew it was important because she was practically having an orgasm over it.

This pretty much confirms that it's manga-based. I mean, by their clothes and armor!Al, we can tell it's taking place in Amestris. If it isn't following the movie, I can't see another new series being made from scratch, so I am EXTREMELY happy.

As for the art style/animation and Roy's 'Xingese' appearance... The actual anime will be cleaner and more defined, plus it's not bad now, so I'm good with it. And, considering Roy's shady past as revealed in the manga, who knows what Roy's new style could mean?

Man, I need to go back and watch that through again! The first scene that jumped to my mind with Roy was the one where he's got Maria cornered before she's shipped off. It's obviously to early to tell much of anything, though.

About Roy's appearance: "His head looks a little too much like a circle." That was my thought when I saw him. His head is also a little small, but that could be the perspective of the shot. I don't think so, but I don't know.

Anyway, this has renewed my enthusiasm for this series a great deal. I need to show this to one of my friends now!

Just for anyone who doesn't know...that linked site is the official home site for Japanese anime FMA, so yeah, this is the real thing.
The site says that the site has officially started the activities (for FMA anime2) on Dec. 7. ^^
I checked elswhere on the site, but right now it seems that promo vid is the pretty much only thing on the site.


The audio is not good on my computer right now, but here is what the pic says. ^^

The vid also says it will start airing nationwide in coming April in Japan on TBS and MBS networks in Japan (as already posted elsewhere. ^^)

And, it says more info about the new FMA anime (according to the site it's a "key visual poster") is included in this month's Gangan magazine that's coming out on Dec. 12 in Japan.
I can't wait to see that one!!

I agree! It's definately the eyes. They're way bigger. Don't know if that's a fluke or they intended for that, but either way since there is a new anime, I'm not going to complain!

It's just an educated guess. Not to mention it will look better on TV/DVD than over the Internet. For my computer, anyways.

according to ANN, there's also supposed to be something FMA 2 related at the end of today's gundam 00 S2 episode.

Still according to ANN, the thing that was showed after Gundam is the same trailer as the one on the site. So no need to search.

I'll admit, I squeed quite pleasantly at this, as it asserts the reality of the new season.

Although on non-fangirl examination, I find it a bit worrying that, for being their first preview and only one with a few frames of animation at that, they allowed Roy to be drawn with such a weirdass head. Saving all their animation budget for the series?

I got excited by it too, and slightly confused by Roy's new look. Perhaps that's just his "grr manly" face and he's better when not frowning? This is a hope by the way, not a practical prediction.

Pretty damn cool if you ask me! I really can't see any major animation differences between Edward and Alphonse. However, I agree that something about Roy Mustang seems rather off in the animation- something about his facial structure just doesn't seem right. I can not wait for this month's GanGan to come out, so that we will be able to receive more official information regarding this new series. Hopefully, we will be seeing more official character designs too!

Anyway, what I feel's 'off' with Roy is that he seems kinda c**keyed in that picture. Hopefully it'll get fixed though, 'cause it doesn't look pretty.

I was in class when I saw this (while pretending to be doing research) and died having to wait to get home to watch it. It wasn't much, but it's finally confirming it, and like someone mentioned on another site, it is definitely not taking place after the movie because Roy doesn't have an eyepatch.

I was digging the trailer until I saw Roy's face then I was like, "WHAT?" He looks kind of effed up, though. Is it his eyes? As long as he doesn't always look that creepy, it's all good. XP

Hello everyone! First time posting, after a year of lurking

First of all, I'm thrilled to see the first clip of th e new series... I hope we'll get much more before next April. I 'm kind of shocked how much they look exactly as they did in the first series, I guess the artists got used to drawing them, or something. Except for Roy, obviously, but the longer I look at him the more I accept him, actually. His face is very round, but then, it's exactly like in the manga. I think we can thank movie-makers and fanartists for sexier gentle-faced Roy, in the manga he looks a bit comical with his childish, round face. His hairdo is more manga-ish too.

His eyes are different shape though: like here. Line of his eyelid should break near his nose and slightly fall. But I hope it's just a grimace.

Even though that trailer was only 15 seconds long it still made my day.

There is always fansubs. But I will watch the dub. I just won't be able to wait until 2010 for it to come out. It is hard enough to wait for April 2009, when the series is suppose to air in Japan. I want more screenshots and trailers.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. The characters all look just the same to me, except for that last image of Ed and Al.
I would honestly say that those first 3 clips were straight from the original series.

Can't wait till Friday when Shounen GanGan is released, the next manga chapter and more info about the coming new series

lovely, I thought Ed looked allot like he did in the first anime series, and Al never really changes...unless he is horribly drawn. As for Roy, what in the world did the animators do to his head? his eyes are just mucked up to no end. oh please god, make them fix that. anyway, over all it was a decent look but Roys face just kind of worries me >>

Rumours on 4chan (allegedly taken from 2ch) say the series will be a continuation of the Bones series and they are getting in Sunrise (Code Geass, Gundam) but it just blatant trolling by Anonymous so if you come across those rumours keep this in mind.

This disappointed me rather than the first, it doesn't show anything new, and its info we already know.

How you know its info we already know? These teaser campaigns rarely reveal anything dramatically interesting. As I've said before, the most we'll probably get is an air date and confirmation as to whether or not it'll follow the manga. You might get a hint of the plot but that'll only be of interest to people new to the series.

I was really happy to see this teaser! X3 I'm glad that it will be based on the manga because I can't really imagine how they are going to take off with the story after CoS with Hohenheim dead and all...

Plus, I'm really curious as to where the story of season 2 will begin... Probably on their way to north?
