Whoa! Thanks, Michiyo! I wish this one was a premonition of things future! Hohenheim's family picture unharmed and in new frame together with Ed's coat and Hohenheim's glasses... I got something in my eye seeing it.

(Yeah, I wish so much for Hohenheim to live eith his sons some time after everything is over... What's the deal in killing him? Everybody expects him to die I feel so sorry for him.)

thanks for the info , but i still think its not possible . Humans can't do it . And even if they are able to do it one day , they shouldn't do it . . .
QueenTiria
but humans just did it, they just created life, even if it is a single celled bacteria. obvs we shouldn't create humans but i think creating bacteria to turn carbon dioxide into fossil fuel is a great idea. although hiromu arakawa's ideals are amazing

Except where in FMA is it ever said alchemy can't create new life...?

There are plenty of "created humans" (for example, the homunculus) in the series and Father was born from a sample of Hohenheim's blood.

The only thing you can'd do in FMA is bring back the dead as the people they were.

Also, why are you comparing real life news articles to a completely fictional storyline where science is virtually a magic form in how ridiculously it's used?

It would be awesome if someone manages to translate, at least snippets, of that Arakawa interview!

I quickly checked the content in case it contains any specific info regarding the FMA manga final chapter or FMA:B last episode, and it doesn't seem to have any specific info for those, hence, I will wait (as in try to finish my translation of chapter 108 first) and will come back to this one later.. meantime, if anyone would like to help us, please go ahead and post the translations. biggrin.gif

Though, a snippet:
....in some part she talks that she contemplates quite a bit, and takes long time, to come up with the dialogue, and also for naming of the characters, though sometimes it just pops up, like, Ed in one scene toward the ending, and she realized the same exact words she used in the very beginning portion of the series would fit right-on, and she thought "Ah, those words have been waiting for this moment...."
(...I think we know which one she was talking about. ^^)
Kaori Ayanami
That interview is way too little for me to be able to understand all the kanji... And believe me, I have a LOT of practice in reading near-illegible texts.

But then again, not in Japanese... ^^U

*waiting for a better scan*

I think I posted detailed translations of "how to order on-line" instructions somewhere, including screen cap of the order page with my corresponding translation added in. I can't look around to look for that post right now, but it's somewhere in this forum. ^^

I completely forgot that these stamps were coming out on this Monday.
Thanks, Michiyo- for posting!! ^^ I soooo want those!!!
Kasumisty
Oh, okay. Will search for your post then.

QUOTE (Tombow @ May 2 2010, 02:47 PM) *
And, yes, it's legit. According to the site for the official Japanese postal service, as posted by Kasumisty above, they have been officially making official Japanese postage stamps with designs based on anime characters since 2001, and for their 13th collection they are making postage stamps with FMA characters.

* It's officially coming out on June 14, 2010, and currently they are taking pre-sale orders.

* It comes out as a seat of 10 x 80 Japanese Yen stamps, as pictured, and each sheet will cost 800 Japanese Yen.

* Size for the whole sheet is 21.25 cm high x 14.025 cm wide; size of each individual stamp is 3.65 cm high x 2.805 cm wide.

* There will be total of 13,000,000 sheets sold.

* You can buy them at postal stores once they come out, or by mail-order.

* You can also order the seat with special first-day-sale cancellations; Ed for hand cancellation and Al for machine cancellation, or you can personally go to some of the postal stores where these cancellations are available on the day of the sale.

* For the Internet mail-order, if you have a credit card, you can order it here for 800 Japanese Yen for each sheet, plus 440 Japanese Yen for shipping fee per order (free S&H if the order is 5000 Japanese Yen or more) but so far I haven't found out if we can order it from outside Japan, tho I kind of afraid they may not ship it overseas. (I really want to order this one, though! ^^)

I want those stamps too. They all look awesome.
Kasumisty
Sigh, I don't have a credit card and I live overseas so...

Going to sulk now.

Thank you for fiding that post, Michiyo.
Tombow
^ Thank you Michiyo-! ^^

I guess it seems my post with the "order page screen cap" was for some other item. tongue.gif

But yeah, the page says it has plenty in stock.... I can't do it now, but later I will check and see if I can order some for delivery in the U.S.. ^^

(Kasumisty - If they mail out to oversees, if I can find out, I will check if they take international money order. Although I get the feeling they accept payment only in Japanese yen, and more likely they don't mail out to oversees..... )

Too bad we don't have members actually living in Japan now...we used to have such members before.
shanryelric
OAO I WANT THOSE *go call my distributor* 8DDD wish it's not so expensive..
deet-tastic
regarding the spoiler picture Anyone else find it funny that Al, Ed, and Father all had different hair colors? Especially Al! It didn't even look like him! Anyways, nice pic. Poor Colonel Useless smile.gif

I actually got the Newtype and Animage July issues at home (managed to snag them while in San Diego).

If anyone wants, I can actually scan the articles & the separate book from Newtype this weekend.

Also the curious thing was when I was looking at the listing for ep. 64 in the Animage - it actually didn't have the numerical '64' next to the title, but rather it was a string of kanji that I couldn't read.
shanryelric
^ eh wait. the Fullmetal Alchemist Final Act Record is a seperate book from July Newtype? O__o
Flamez_Freak
Those are the best stamps i've seen . Ha ha . Awesome stuff . . Thanks for posting smile.gif
