^ Yeah, two months for the Japanese, probably two years before I'll see it. The Americans will have to dub it first which prob won't happen for ages, then it won't make its way to Australia until 2045... Mehneh.
I don't really have much of a choice either, I refuse to download a fansub of the Japanese version (Ed and Al sound like women), so I guess I'll have to wait for it to hit the shelves here.

I lovelovelove how Ed and Al look. I like the fact that they've changed the animation, it looks great (except for Roy. Oh, poor, poor Roy).

Anyways, I definetly prefer the japanese voice-acting cast. I mean c'mon, Vic Mongongablarh (don't even know his name, that's how much I dislike him) just sounds like a whiny, annoying, little bit*h in my opinion. The dude who voices Al is ok I guess, but everything is just so much better the way it was intended to be; in japanese!

Well to be honest most of the names, place names, etc seemed to be designed with English-ness in mind, so English voice-actors should have had an advantage over the Japanese ones in that area.

Well, I didn't like Ed's light-outline hair in the still pics, but from the CM I'm betting it'll look much better animated ^^

Yeah, ok, I'll give you that. The names and places do sound pretty western/english-like. But isn't that the case with all mangas/animes that takes place outside of Japan? The setting might be in some country/area where japanese would normally seem completely out of place, but somehow it still feels fairly believable thanks to the atmospheric universe the creators have put together. Also, if the japanese VAs would happen to be simply amazing (FMA anyone?) that wouldn't hurt either.

Another thing that has gotten me into preferring original japanese casts is that I've gotten the impression that the people who dubs japanese animes usually don't seem so engaged/serious about what what they do. Either that, or that they just suck.

But this is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Haha, yes, I'm fully aware that the Japanese Ed and Al are voiced by women. I Just like teenage boys to sound like, well, teenage boys, and while I don't really like Vic Mongongablarh (yeah, I can't spell it either) as Ed, I perfer him to Romi Paku.

It feels weird to me when I watch Fullmetal in Japanese, or when in fanfics or fan-translations of the manga they use Japanese terms (Nii-san really irks me), mainly because it's European based, as you guys were saying.

I'm weird with my dubs, some shows (Fullmetal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop) I HAVE to watch in English, while others I HAVE to watch in Japanese, then there's some like Samurai Champloo that I can watch in either. I can understand disliking English dubs, some of them are terrible.

I agree with the voice acting comments, I also prefer Vic and that 13 year old kid as voices than women - I thought it fit pretty well.

As for the video I saw on the new series - looks good.

I like the stonier faces as well. The ad at the bottom says "1st TV series & movie" - which makes me wonder, in this 2nd one, are they going to start completely at the beginning with the manga or branch off from a section of the anime?

Usually, I think the Japanese dubbing is better than the English. Just because it sounds so screwed up in the English sometimes..Like Ouran, they killed the opening for Ouran by dubbing that TOO in English. But, I do like FMA in English; I <3 Vic and Aaron(who's like 16 now, his voice has gotten so DEEP. I miss the childish voice T^T). Code Geass sounds pretty good too in English(Lloyd's voice actually sounds so much more amusing in English XD)..ANYWAY..

I think maybe that they're going to just go with flashback for a quick retell of their past and whatnot. And just go to the parts where it's different between the manga and original anime. I hope the music comes out good as well... Man, the OP and ED songs better be good..

There are peole who haven't read the manga, and from the producing end of the new series, they'll want the beginning to be as full and attention grabbing as possible so that people will watch it. That's what I think anyway. I just think that they can't skimp on the details.

(and by "good" I mean, "fits the manga better* but I still say Roy looks like a fat Asian dude. Oh well, I'm sure they'll clean it up. I'm sure they have more concern with making the episodes than to make cheap, 15 second teasers. That said, go on and squee. Squee to your heart's content. And continue to squee until April 5th, 5 pm gets here. Because with all this waiting....you've earned it.

All I've got to say here is at least they didn't completely ruin the opening by completely changing it, like 4Kids did for One Piece.

If you think the Ouran dub is bad... well... From what I saw it really wasn't.

Anyways, it's exciting to finally see what it's going to look like. The biggest change I see is in their eyes.

I'm very excited for this, and I hope it follows the manga closer, which I've heard it's supposed to.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing Lanfan, Ling, and Mei getting animated. Also, Olivia/Oliver, (I wonder how they'll tranlate the name if it gets dubbed...) I hope they have that scene from volume 12. You know, the one with WInry...and Scar and..... oh, I don't wanna ruin it for those who've never read it! >_<

i think that in the english i think that they are going to say "Olivia". but that is me. personally i really don't care what name they use for her.

Oh man, that looks sweet. I can't wait. So I'm kinda guessing since Roy doesn't have his eye patch, and Ed and Al are still there, that this season will just be based off of the Manga. That would be pretty cool, because I have been reading the Manga and it is awesome. Hopefully they don't screw it up.

well from what i gather and stuff that the new season has to deal with nothing with the first season and the movie. it is all brand new. new people, new adventures, new evil people, new stuff. so ya no roy with an eyepatch.

It's true. So true. Man, that must suck for the voice actors. I mean, having to start all over again. The first, what, 16 or 17 episodes of the first anime, maybe? They're pretty much the same as the manga, so they're gonna have to re-say alot of lines. Man. Unfortunate.
