I somewhat had a feeling they would use SID again. This band is very good, and as deet-tastic said, it's very fitting and nostalgic to have them again, now in opening. So, it will start with 51th episode, am I right? It fits as well. I don't know the other artist, but I'm going to look her up right now.

EDIT: Shoko Nakagawa is good, she sound old-schoolish, like artists from Fuushigi Yuugi, or Slayers.

I guess Sid is brotherhood's L arc ciel snice they did more than one song for the first anime(2nd and COS opening) while Sid did ending, prince of dawn opening and now opening 5.

I heard of Shoko stuff just now and love her songs and she did Gurren Langan opening. She's really good and pretty. Why do I get the feeling her song on the ending video is going to be romance based or just focusing the girls(Riza, Winry, Mei, Ranfan)

Yeah! I read this this afternoon during lunch break at work, and it's just awesome! I really like SID myself and the first ending was great ;)

And Ray of Light sounds like a very optimistic title too!

Cool news on the last OP and ED, as I'm really looking forward to them.

I met Shoko at Anime Expo in 2008, she's a tiny little thing, but she can sing for sure.

She can, for sure, sing. I just hope that the song is comparable to the gurren-lagann songs and not too happy go lucky as many of her other songs.

I'm a bit disappointed, that it's SID again. I liked "Uso" but I hoped, that it'll be a different artist and not one, who already did a song for FMA before.

I feel like I'm really gonna miss Period and especially Shunkan Sentimental, it's my favourite ending so far. I know Sid as a band and I like their songs so it's okay for me, but I've never once heard about miss Nagakawa. I'll need to look her up. Besides, it's quite funny how the titles of songs fit - first we got "Rain" (poor, poor Roy) and then it comes "Ray of Light". It's quite evocative, isn't it?

Edit: So, she wrote the song basically for FMA? How sweet! I didn't know it looks like that!

The soundtrack to this one is great, too, but there's not nearly enough tracks and they sometimes don't use them that well.

I have to stop blaming Akira Senju, though. It's the sound director's fault, not the composer's.

Uso by SID was my least favorite theme along with Tsunaida Te, but I listened to a few of their other songs and they might satisfy me on an opening.

As for Shoko, she might be okay as I heard the song on her website, but I'm gonna miss Shunkan Sentimental, definitely the best ED for me.

So it's changing on April 4th (Ep 51)? I thought the last season was only ten episodes, but I won't complain about getting new themes sooner.

the songs of FMA:Brotherhood makes much sense this time although the songs on FMA 1 also do but the difference is that FMA:Brotherhood songs centers on life and struggle ... *for my own opinion*

to think that FMA's come back is big time, it's theme contributes a lot as well

The titles sound intriguing, to me. (lol, "To be king" reminds me of The Lion King song). I guess the last one will be played at the end of anime? Can't wait to hear them.

My OST 2 CD was shipped yesterday, but it won't be here for about 5 days. (Couriers are so expensive!) I just noticed the list of tracks on the disc on this thread and it's just made me more excited! I'm especially looking forward to Xing Symphony and Nocturne of Amestris; I don't know why, they both just spring up at me as good ones. =P

There'll probably downloads up in no time but I'm going to wait for my copy instead of downloading. xD

I wonder if this and the first OST will comprise the complete soundtrack? Like if some of the tracks on this are ones currently unheard in the series and if the new music from this week is on this soundtrack? (The 3rd track is titled Pride, before this week I wouldn't have associated any specific music with Pride, although perhaps I'm missing something).

I swear I remember some comment though about Akira Senju being off creating new stuff recently? I'd just be pretty surprised if he made enough music for a third OST when there's only 14 episodes left though.

Some of them are so similiar to the first OST's ones, I thought they just copied them.

Track is kind of boring at the beginning, but it sends chills down my spine, when the music crescends at the end.

04. Envy Revealed

Very nice and dramatic.

05. The Plot Thickens

Mentioned similiarity. This one is like lacking "Clash of Alchemists"

09. Desolation

Again, "Lapis Philosophorum", anyone? Though, I like it anyway, it seems "remixed"

Main theme instrumental. Kind of nice.

I totally love this OST over the first one. :F I think it finally changed my opinion that the Brotherhood's OST wasn't as good as the first series'. Though I don't like the "emo tracks", the first series' ones were more climatic :F or just the whole series was emo so I could associate these tracks with better scenes (in the Brotherhood's case I only associate them with Winry... o_O). But screw the emo tracks, the action ones are purely awesome. I like the Xingese theme and the Ishvalan one (even though it was only in one prevew and then when Ranfan came back, so I think it sounds more Xingese than Ishvalan, heh). Also, number 19 and 30 are awesome. but I really like the whole soundtrack. That was quite nice suprise, I didn't look forward to it after the first OST which I didn't like... XD'

I think there might be a 3rd, too. I might've missed or not recognized them, but I didn't hear the track from the ending of ep 31 or the track from the ending of 40 & 44 or the one during the Family Portrait scene of episode 36 on this OST. I definitely didn't hear the 2 new tracks from episode 49.

And wasn't Pastorale Rondo supposed to be faster and have a piccolo in it? I guess that's another mix of the song.

My favourites of the new OST have to be:

5. The Plot Thickens - A rich piece with a variety of instruments, that clearly makes it feel like something blew your mind. It's like your thoughts are racing and your emotions are intensifying.

11. Nocturne of Amestris~Duet~ - It reminds me of all the touching moments of FMAB. Nearly like a sweet music box tune, but with a thoughtful piano. It feels slightly sad, or perhaps nostalgic and longing.

21. Lapis Philosophorum~Piano Solo~ - My fav track of OST 1, now in piano form. A dark and beautiful tune made simple and full of bare emotion.

25. Battle Scherzo - This is the most exciting piece here! It feels very brave, heroic, and conveys a race against time with its fast pace, singing strings, and bold brass! Definitely one of the best.

28. Stepping Along - A gently adventurous track. The beat is like a train on a journey through the country side, which highlights the more peaceful side of Ed and Al's travels.

31. Brotherhood~Postlude~ Sigh... so peaceful... If this isn't a perfect lullaby, I don't know what is. *snore*
