)(Click on the links to listen to the music! ^^)Track 01: Main Theme ~The Fullmetal Alchemist~Kasumisty: Very mysterious, dark waltz. I just love that sad chores at the end. And overall, that opera-ish/symphonic feel of the whole soundtrack, especially this and few other scores.
penguintruth: This one is, I guess, the "Bratja" of the new series? I don't know, but supposedly it's the "main theme". I only remember hearing this particular track a few times, though, a rarity when it comes to this soundtrack. It's not a bad piece. It sort of reminds me of something Hiroshi Miyagawa might have done for Final YamatoTrack 02: Laws of AlchemyKasumisty: Our "trailer" score xd Gives me pleasant chills (except thought we had to listen it at lots of beginnings of early episodes...). Gradually, music is getting more louder leaving one anxious. Love it.
penguintruth: This one played frequently during the "rules of alchemy" openings the show used to have before the opening credits, and during the trailers. It's got an ominous feel to it.Track 03: again (TV Size) (YUI)Kasumisty: I don't think I need to explain why I love this one. The best opening of FMA ever made.Track 04: Nightfall in Central CityKasumisty: I'd say it's a very pathos piece. It gets more calm and warm around the middle. I think it'd made a great Amestrian's Army Anthem.Track 05: Fire in the SkyKasumisty: Again, a darker piece. Nothing really to expand there. Track 06: Clash of the AlchemistsKasumisty: Another score of the firsts I heard. It was in a trailer as well. Powerful piece, very "catchy", I'd say. And Trademark of Brotherhood.
penguintruth: We get this one during some combat scenes. Featured in the first episode. I remember hearing it in the trailers for the show. Track 07: LurkingKasumisty: Made my hands bury in the chair/bed/anything I'm sitting on while listening to this. Mysterious.
penguintruth: This little creepy tune usually plays when somebody is up to something. It has a fitting title.Track 08: MistKasumisty: Calm. But kinda sad and dangerous.Track 09: Spiral of TruthKasumisty: Jaws theme! Make my eyes go wide and search for a shark's fin XDTrack 10: Mortal SinKasumisty: God, the part that starts at 0:23. Danger is coming, time to hide under a bed. o.o We also have chores here. One of my favorite pieces.Track 11: One is All, All is OneKasumisty: Melancholic, sad ballad. Reminds of the past.
penguintruth: This one starts off as a bit of a somber piece, but is perhaps more sobering than sad, ultimately. Just looking at the title, makes you think of the coming into the knowledge the brothers came to when learning alchemy from their teacher.Track 12: Requiem for the Brigadier GeneralKasumisty: If some songs are sad, this is a real tear jerker. Make me lay with eyes closed and think of various things...
penguintruth: This one, I'm sure we all remember, from episode 10, and its sad funeral scene. The first series used a somewhat similar tune for the same scene, but this is a softer version of a recurring theme.Track 13: Uso (TV Size) (SID)Kasumisty: One of the best ending songs. Better than Let it out by visuals(d'aww that drawings), but losts by lyrics and voice of Fukuhara Miho.Track 14: Lullaby of ResemboolKasumisty: Symphonic version of Trisha's lullaby. I will describe it when I get to track no 21. I simply prefer the latter.
penguintruth: I like this one, very... journey-ish? It sounds like the music to a song about a hero who came from far away. It's a beautiful tune.Track 15: InterludeKasumisty: A lighter score at least. Make me relax.Track 16: Hologram (Tv Size) (NICO Touches the Walls)Kasumisty: Catchy opening, meaningless lyrics. :fTrack 17: Far East suiteKasumisty: Beautiful. Reminds me of old Disney's songs. Oriental.Track 18: Beneath the CityKasumisty: ...somone is spying on me...wah.Track 19: Fifth LaboratoryKasumisty: Another favorite piece. Brilliant composition. I like the rising and descending notes. Make me all tense up.Track 20: Fanfare of the BraveKasumisty: Another (in my opinion) Brotherhood's trademark song. Sharp strings, similar to those in track no 01.
penguintruth: [i]This one builds up real well, until you get the feeling of action and movement.Track 21: Trisha's lullabyHere're the lyrics in Latin:
Dormite liberi,
Dulci pueri dormite, caloris et,
Commodus Vester lecti boni.
Osservo te, semper te,
Latus tui costa te, autem solus, mitite,
Latus tui hic sum.
In somninum plati
Floridus plena, dormite liberi
Dulci mei dormite
Mitite liberi,
Sine pater autem, mitite, liberi,
Visi te tua mater.
Osservo te, semper te,
Latus tui costa te, liberi sine sentite,
Momentum dormite.
In conclave sine mater.
Conclave dum dies saperis......someone know Latin? I tried to translate and it's simply a lullaby directed to Ed and Al, there is something about their father as well.Kasumisty: This piece is magnificent. It's so melancholic, sentimental. As the title shows us, this is a lullaby, an escape from real, cruel world.
penguintruth: This is a vocal version of "Lullaby of Risembool", and seems like that song I was talking about. Track 22: Concerto ~Brotherhood~Kasumisty: Hopeful. Tells us that "everything's not okay yet, there are still wounds to heal, but we're on right track".Track 23: Hum of the StreetsKasumisty: Rustle and bustle...Song didn't fit into my tastes.Track: 24: Beyond the WallsKasumisty: Another melancholic score. Somewhat, not really noticable, another (just) good piece. Gets a lot better at the beginning (kinda reminds me of Morrowind game...)Track 25: Next ChapterKasumisty: Just don't like it. Too much is going on in this song.Track 26: Home ~en route to Resembool~Kasumisty: So optimistic, it makes me all happy and mushy inside. I rock to this song every time I hear it. Tam tam tam...Track 27: Lapis Philosophorum (or, "The Philosopher's Stone")Here're the lyrics in Latin:
(For translations, please check Blacksteel's post here.)Lapis philosophorum lapis ruber lapis quantus
sacrificium vis caputo felicitas
Debes sapio debes ibi multa miseria tua retro
calamitatis habes saputo felicitas
Ubi es inpedis terra e tem pus anteactus
sapies eo quam erant cadeveris infinitatis.
Debes sapio debes ibi multa miseria tua retro
calamitatis habes saputo felicitas
Ubi es inpedis terra e tem pus anteactus
sapies eo quam erant cadeveris infinitatis.
Specta mortuus specta si denuo desiderium
sapies habebis tueri sanguinem brachi pedis rubus,
Lapis philosophorum, lapis ruber affecto quam res...?Kasumisty: Wow... This bgm is alike as Trisha's Lullaby, but at the same time it's very different. Sang in Pathos style (and Latin language only adds fuel to it - everything in Latin looks smart xD), but the melody gives the song sad vibre. I think it's my most favorite piece.
penguintruth: This is the big boy of the soundtrack, the grandest, biggest stand out track. This is what we heard in episode 1 when Isaac realized the truth behind Ed and Al's bodies. The best track on the OST by far.Track 28: Happiness ~Requiem from "Blind Alchemist"~Kasumisty: Some frigging tear-jerking music Akira Senju gave us... I got the whole scale from little sad to fcking tear-jerks. This is around the end of it. The melody sounds like from a child's musical box. Which makes me baww few times more.Track 29: Home ~a house on the hill~Kasumisty: Italian-restaurant one? Cannot decide if I like it or not.Track 30: Overture ~Brotherhood~Kasumisty: Another FMA:B... It's pretty. Would like to see song like that at the end of the story.
penguintruth: This has that "epic melodrama" feel to it, real sweeping. Almost soap opera like, but not as cheesy. More like the music from serialized mini-series dramas.Track 31: LET IT OUT (TV Size) (Fukuhara Miho)Kasumisty: When I heard it first time, it seemed very generic to me. Now I love it.Kasumisty's TOP 10:
1) Lapis Philosophorum
2) Trisha's lullaby
3) Happiness ~Requiem from "Blind Alchemist"~

So the OP and ED have been chosen? I know neither of those...but there will be more than one OP and ED, so there could be others.
After hearing the full version of Bacchikoi!!!, I request an ED by Dev Parade. There must be!

It was confirmed that the band Sid has been chosen to sing one of the ending theme songs for the series:
Sid Website. I believe that their new single "Uso" for the series is set to release April 29th, 2009. Supposedly there have been rumours going around some of the BBS boards that the female band Chatmonchy was chosen to sing one of the ending themes. It is probably best to discard this rumour until more information is found.

The confirmation of the first ending being "Uso" by SID is further confirmed from the release date of that single (April 29th) being listed as ED01 to Fullmetal Alchemist 2

From what I'm reading not too many people seem to know enough or care enough about the music to reply to this topic
In my opinion, they're gonna choose artists who need the tie-in, in the first season for example I remember they used Porno Graffiti and Crystal Kay whom at the time weren't as popular as they are now. I just saw on youtube the video that confirms the first opening, YUI's 'again', and it made me think about the kind of musicians they're gonna be using for the OP/EDs. It's hard to predict but I can only cross my fingers
abe mao, misono; they're kind of rock/pop and i think they'd fit perfectly for the openings as well as WRONG SCALE (they sound exactly like ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION)
leyona, maki chang and yuna ito hava amazing voices and they sing ballads (piano, acoustic) and it kind of suits the mood of an ending doesn't it?
Everybody should check them out, but I'm sure whoever they choose will be awesome too

I just watched the show and I'm very disappointed by the Score

Its ok but its nothing in comparison to the Russian Orchestra with Ooshima Michiru it lacks the feeling and emotion that was given in the 1st Full Metal... For the cute parts the music fits nicely but when there trying to bring in dare i say "epic"

into the more serious/climatic moments it dosn't sound "big" enough, although i did like the attempt with the choir but yet again did not have the emotion from the 1st full metal.
Sadly i will miss it

was one of my favourite aspects of Full Metal having a very good score but thats not going to keep me from enjoying the anime!! but i probably wont buy the Score Soundtracks this time

Personally, I really liked the score on this one. The last battle scene sounded so epic! It was a bit like from a fantasy movie, but heck, I love fantasy movie soundtracks, anyway.
I do see your point, though. The score in the original FMA truly was something. But since it's all new FMA, I guess they wanted to make a new fresh style to it, including with the music.

I don't know.

I can't help but wonder if it'll be remixed and thrown in there or if it'll have a 2nd series counterpart...

Considering they put the Xerxes "ruins", young Hoho and Greed, they will put in spoilers... I have the suspiscion they might put in, briefly, a Roy vs. Lust thing at the very end... in the OP obviously.

Oh, the ED is a woman singer? So they abandoned the pattern of girls singing the OP and guys singing the ED, which would've been the opposite of FMA1.

Apparently the new OP/ED will be starting with the 15th episode. Makes sense since that is when the new series will officially split from the old series. I am expecting some manga only characters to be featured in the OP. I can't wait.

And hopefully by then people would stop b!tching about redundancy in the new FMA series...

That would be pretty funny

Is there any news on Ling's and Mei's voice actors yet?

@Higurashi - Welcome to our board! I don't have a time to go over them to find them for you, but I think there were links posted on either FMA: Brotherhood Soundtrack & OP/ED discussion thread, or on FMA: Brotherhood OPs (sound & image) discussion thread & on FMA: Brotherhood EDs (sound & image) discussion thread (if links are still good.) Hope you can check them out. Or, if some others have them hopefully some can share with you.
Anyway, this thread is in the wrong (non-FMA Music) forum, so I will move this to FMA Brotherhood anime discussion forum in a while, and later merge this thread to FMA: Brotherhood Soundtrack & OP/ED discussion thread.
ETA: Thread merged.

You can see both the OP and ED on Ran
dom Curiosity
here.
The songs aren't as good, but the opening animation is so awesome! Tons and tons of foreshadowing. Ending is...eh, nothing new.

New OP sequence seemed to share a lot of cues with the opening sequences in the first series, especially the fourth. There were some pretty exciting moments in it, though. It's too bad the song is bland, no match for "Again".
The second ED is just sort of... there. I guess it's sort of traquil, but it's not as fun as the first.

It's definitely not comparable to Again, but it's not that bad... It just doesn't have the impact effect that the first OP had. However, some of the animation sequences are awesome: in need to watch it again in HQ.
And the ED... normal ending stuff, not as exciting as Uso

EDIT: However... the more I'm listening to them, both, the more I'm liking them... 5 hours after.

I really loved the new opening, and the animation was beautiful! The song was quite good, IMO. The ending was also pretty good, though I prefered the opening.

I like the new OP and ED, but I still prefer Again and Uso.
The animation of the OP is really awesome! I loved that it showed a lot of foreshadowing scenes for the further episodes.
The ED had nothing special, the song was nice.

havn't seen the end yet but the op was nice, foreshadowinggggggggggg, forshadowingggggggggggg! I don't think it was as good as again but that opening was epic by like all anime standards and would be realllly hard to top, this opening is great compared to loads of other openings, and in my opinion is better than all the openings from the first fma anime
