This is my favorite chapter in a while. OMFG so good!

I loved the Hoho and Al scenes the best. The tension is so realistic, but you can still feel that they're trying to connect (or am I just overly obsessed with HohoPapa?) Al handled himself so perfectly around Hoho and I was so touched with the whole trust scene (Yeah, it must be the HohoPapa fangirlism)

Speaking of fanservice...OMG this chapter was packed. Winry is way over developed. Sure, there are some girls who develope that quickly, but not many at all, not like that! Arakawa's stretching it for a 15 year old. Ed, on the other hand, is working out 24/7 so it makes sense that he's muscular.

Bido...when you first met him, you'd never think he'd keep popping up. I'm so excited to see what happens with greedLing. GreedLing shows up every now and then, but he never really sticks around, but this time you can tell he'll be around.

I think Winry needed to talk to another girl. I'm sure they'll become good FRIENDS. (no offense, but i dont' see this as developing into anymore when they - er, Winry - loves Ed. And yes, I did totally picture a cat fight when i heard they were going to have "a friend conversation"

I agree. I'm sorry, but why is it when two characters have a heart to heart talk, people want to automatically pair them up sexually-especially in the yaoi or yuri sense? Actually I do know, but I just get tired of the idea of a character being looked at as someone who will sleep with anyone given the opportunity unless that's the author's presentation of the character in the first place. No offense, I know you guys are just having some fun. I'm just expressing my opinion.






I liked this chapter too. You think Winry's boobs are big? Just wait till we get to Olivier Armstrong's bathing scene!!!

Is it odd of me to think that Winry looks soft and huggable?

AND HOLY CRAP ROSE HAS A NORMAL LIFE AND A NICE APARTMENT AND A CLOSET AND TWO RUBBER DUCKIES, ONE OF WHICH WEARS AN EYEPATCH. I like how Rose has a personality, rather than being a pity-party like in the Anime.

I like how people bash EdWinry but calling it sibling-like yet I see here Rose just thinks of Ed as some little brother boy... did anyone else notice he called her "this lady" in chapter one? Just two more cents from EdWinry's biggest defender?

AND LASTLY OMG ROSE IS CHANNELING HUGHES. SHE SO IS.

She is getting sparkly eyes at the idea of dressing Winry up, and dragging her away like Hughes did. SHE IS THE NEW HUGHES

ok, time for my two cents.

Personally, everyone keeps saying, how it seems Ed healed to quickly, but if you take into account everything thats happened (with everyone) since he dissapeared... It has to have been longer then 10 days, if you think about it.... right after then Kimblee went to drachtma (not sure if thats spelt right), convinced them to attack briggs, they got an army together, attacked, lost, retreated.... Zanpano called Envy. Envy came up (how long DID it take envy to get there??) WTH... did he teleport up or something?... then everyone went from Briggs area to Reole(lior), that would have taken some time to walk...

Also an odd thing... I've seen two variations of the first page of chapter 78... in one Miles says Ed and the chimeras have been missing for 10 days... in the first version I saw, he said they had been missing for 2 months.... personally given that Ed is healed and obviously aged and that Arakawa usually doesn't make silly mistakes I'm gonna believe the two month version.

*laughs* THAT was humor and interesting background info rolled in one. I wonder how long Arakawa had this little ditty under her belt...

Then, Rose-kidnapping-Winry scene...

When I first saw the words, "Rose and Winry have a friendly talk about Ed" on the spoilers, I was thinking, "Friendly talk. Right." But the actual chappie had proved me wrong!

...let's just say that I'm kinda relieved about that fact. I mean, I support EdWin and all, but I don't want Winry to get into a CATFIGHT to prove it.

And last, but not least...

ED RETURNS! YEAAAAH! *cries with happiness*

I mean, dude, he made a cool appearance and everything! Long hair, tattered trench coat, supercool automail usage...*tries to keep from squealing*

Ok, now here's my wish list for the next chapter(s):

I wanna see...

- Ed's reaction when he FINALLY finds out the truth about Hoho and Father
- Winry's reaction when she and Ed meet again
- What in the world is gonna happen to Mei
- To see if that "Greed-is-gonna-rebel-again" thesis may come true
- To see if Ling finally takes over Greed's body or if they become buddies or something like that
- If those earrings Ed kept safe for Winry will prove any significance at all
- What Olivia is gonna do about what she had just learned

...and other stuff I can't really think of right now.

Also, I agree with all the EdWin support stuff on this forum. I was quite impressed by Cerulean San's first post on this one.

It's ten days, says so in the RAW.

Anyways about the Ed looking so much older in this chapter thing, I'm more inclined to think that it's simply due to an exaggeration in the drawing and pose and all.

LadyCera- I absolutely agree with you! Ed's return wasn't that rediculously out of time, becuase soo much happened.

I also feel that it is appropriate that we didn't see Ed in the hospital (strictly my opinion). The reason being is in the chapter that he suffered his injury, Kimberly and Miles commented about Ed being naive for not wanting to kill, and becuase of Ed's naivity he almost died. After his injury he told the chimeras that he pretty much was done fooling around.

I think that Ed planned and developed (physically and mentally) after that injury. Arakawa didn't want us to see all of this at that time. I think she wants us to see the plans play out and how Ed reacts now to the situation around him. I also think that the injury was definetly a turning point in Ed's growth. Ed is not going to be fooling around anymore (welll....except for short comments) and I have a feeling he isn't Mr. naive-nice guy anymore. (maybe that is just my hope, so we can see more amazziinnngg fight scenes and amazziiinnggg pictures of Ed)

I also agree with ElricKeyBlade's whole list , i want to see all of that, and Roy kicking some usual homunculus [All hail lord Xenu]

She does. She was inside of Al during their meeting with Wrath after they found out everything that happened.

LadyCera, when you put out the time frame for us like that, it did bring attention to how much has happened. it seems more believable now.

I agree about seeing Rose's house. It was cool to see real life moving on. While everything else has been going on with Ed and everyone, it's nice to know that there are people out there living in apartments with overstuffed closets and eyepatch rubber duckies...(though the sweaters are kind of funny. Maybe they're used to the heat from living there all of their lives?)

Hmm... So Mei knew about homunculus in military, but why is she going back to Central now and wanting to contact with the military actually? We don't really know if Mei paid attention to the conversation because of her injury, but since she expressed fear when Bradley's sword went above her head, she might know, except from that she didn't realy met or know how King Bradley looked like?

I don't think she wants to contact the military. She went back to Central, because she needs to find out more about immortality and stuff, and Central looks like a good place to search (Envy said she would find the knowledge about immortality from Central, or something like that). I quess she has common sense enough to stay away from the military, considering all she knows about it, having been a part of the current Al + Winry + Scar's group + the chimeras team. Her clan is weak and thus in danger, and (with some manipulation from Envy) she realised it would be no use to bring Envy (in it's current not-so-impressive condition) to the Emperor. She thinks she needs to find something more impressive.

We don't know what she wants to do. And I think that she has enough common sense not to contact the military if she knows they are bad guys (end she knows they are, even if I don't think she heard anything in the Fuhrer's office : she was weakened most of the time...).

In fact, I think that she might go discretly to the place of the only man she knows in the city : Knox.

It's only an icon. Don't make them if you don't want others using/distributing them. How do you want her to credit you with? In the signature? It's not like she claimed to have made the icon. Arakawa can sue you for using her drawings/characters for icons too, you know.

How many people do you think out there has common sense? Not that many, really. It's common courtesy to give seats to the elderly on the bus too, but how many people actually do that? On a bus with 99% university students, no one gave their seat away. They either pretended to be asleep or simply chat with their friends.

If that's the case and if you did friend-lock your journal, you should instead try chasing down your friend-list who distributed your icons without permission, unless you are certain that Tyra is someone on your friend list who distributed it. Really, everything on internet spreads like a flu virus. I think everyone is more "irritated" by the fact that the size of those were not foreshadowed anywhere except for one panel in the tome 14 (and I thought this one was a mistake of sorme sort at the time)




I think it's more important to know about the whereabouts of Scar and Marcoh right now. I mean, they were with Al & Co one chapter, and suddenly they're not here anymore and nobody's at least mentionned them? That's weird... I suppose they must be hiding somewhere in Lior (but in that case why didn't they take Winry with them, as hse must also go into hiding? Unless of course Al refused to leave her in care of Scar...).

As for the Winry boob complaints, you very nearly saw Ed stark b****ck naked and nobody said a word against it. To add to that, I knew a girl who was FF at 13, pity her.

Actually I think its been easy to sum up this chapter by the fact one of the biggest topics of conversation has been Winry's boobs. Not that it was a bad chapter but it took a little while to talk about how it progressed the overall story. I suppose its just that sort of chapter, a fill in to the next dramatic tension.

I think that this chapter has somehow brought out a Jean Havoc ( may he come back into the manga at some point, as well as Roy and the rest of the unit...we got to see Falman a while back, afterall!) within all of us really. ^^;

Whether it's been for or against; most ( not all of it though) of the discussion has been all about the boobs ( or the legs as those were also pointed out ^^; )

Seriously though, I am curious to see what the next chapter's like...and how the meeting with Bido and Ling! Greed goes, and if we get to see what's happened with Mei and Envy.

You're right, I think everyone has been disappointed by this chapter when it comes to revelations! Everyone was expecting big things from the encounter between Al and Hohenheim, and it seems we will have to wait. Arakawa entertained us with Spiderman-like wanderings from Bido, Winry!fan-service, Edward!fan-service, and a "normal" discussion between two teenage girls (how old is Rose already? I think she might be two or three years older than Winry... good match for Scar I say... by the way, where did him and Marcoh go? It would make me laugh if Scar suddenly came back with white tatoos on his left arm ).

Question : I think for myself than Hohenheim is still suspicious, telling Pinako to leave the country, creating a circle that seems to use the same kind of energy that Father uses for his own, etc. I believe he might want to use the sacrifice prepared by Father for his own ends : return to a human. In every story about immortals who wanted to go back to get back their mortaly, the path is often painful and bloody. What if, to become human again, he has to make a sacrifice of the same magnitude than the one who turned him into a philosopher's stone?

People seem to forget how puffed up Winry's jacket looked after she appeared again. there was some time for her to grow between there. I mean, Ed didn't have those six-packs when he was showering in chapter 56, but no one is complaining. :/

Sannom Perhaps, though the interaction with Al was fairly normal, something in Hoho will stir as he grows closer to his son(s). Perhaps why he warned Pinako will come to light for he advised her based on the fact he is close to her and the more time he spends with his son the more he knows he'll have to speak?

*smirk* Looks like our dear beloved protagonist is back. Not before time, either. As much as I liked the previous chapters for shedding light on the wider situation, I was beginning to wonder what had become of Ed. Combined with Al meeting Hohenheim in the end of 80, this should be a fun chapter.

The next chapter is coming out in about two weeks, and I just dont know what to expect from it. I guess Roy could show up....or the story line could follow Ed....or continue to follow Al and company....Or it could be something completely different...I am in favor of Roy and Ed I also am wondering if we are now in the "war" part of the series that Hohenheim talked about in chapter 78. (he said something like I just declared war after seeing pride), if that is the case are we going to see chapters with alot more action and alot less "setting the scene for the big battle" ?

Pretty awesome chapter! XD I can't wait for the next..
