If his Blood Seal is touched, then he'll be killed, so if he lost all of his armor, Al would without a shadow of a doubt, die. The armor is the only thing keeping his soul tied down.

Actually, if I recall correctly, in one of the episodes, Lust lightly rakes her finger on the seal, and nothing happened [sans obvious uncomfortableness].

Now of course, if the whole thing were to get scratched, gashed, or washed away, then yes, he'd die.

Anyway, I think that explains it. However, I think if all that was left was just the slab with his blood seal on it, I'd think he'd still be alive, if the seal itself was still intact. I dunno if he'd be able to talk, though.

Lust just touches her fingernail right next to it, she doesn't lightly rake it at all. She lightly rakes it over #48's and it kills him, but not Al's. Her fingernail stops right next to it as a warning or a threaten basically that if Ed doesn't do what he's told, Al's gonna die.

and aslo when al was turned in to the philospfer stone by scar. then fell in to the water nothing happen to the blood seal. so i don't know what would happen to him.

But that was just because the philosopher's stone protected him, not because he is impervious.
