god danmit this thing is so overarted. i mean zac efron is not (in my opinion) a teen age heart throb. i have not met a person who can relate to him or likes him (in the particular attraction) the film is so corny and the fact that they suddenly go into song and dance is what makes it so rubbish. (rant mode engaged) no seriously i would like to see what zac efron thinks of it himself. look at it its just utter crap. and the music is so obviously ment to be kid friendly. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHH

For the record, I don't mind Zac Efron. He was very good in Hair Spray and looks like he'll be good in 17 Again, and because he's a good actor, people like him.

No one can really relate to models and celebrities, they have it harder than all of us.

Well of course they're going to break into song and dance, it's High School MUSICAL.

So what if it'd kid friendly? Not every song can be about cutting, alcohol and drug addiction.

Guys, the songs they sing in HSM 1,2 & 3 are way catchy and great! Sure the acting sucks but the storyline is alright! My sisters have 1 & 2 and I'm still planning on getting 'round to 3 but yeah, if you give it a chance you may just find that the songs are catchy and cool!

The whole thing is lame, if you ask me. I don't exactly hate it to death, but it's for sure not on my list of favorite movies. I couldn't even finish the first movie because it was so bad.

I can see where you're coming from kkg22104, I found most of the characters' over styled personalities difficult to come to terms with but the songs... THE SONGS.... *stares off into the horizon* Well... maybe I'll stop. Not everyone likes sappy high school songs xD

Hmmm songs... well for the first one I loved Breaking Free then for the second one there's.. Gotta Go My Own Way, I dunno, lots more "^_^. They might be crap actors but they're really good singers and I like what they come up with. x)

I thought the acting was superb. Like, Zac, Ashley and Lucas did great, and their characters were very believable.

Well before Anime existed in my life, I loved HSM ,, but now , they're quite a boring . I can sleep in front of the tv now . But well it is quite okay.

I can't say I absolutely hate HSM; I just detest it. It's normal nowaday's Disney movie; harmless but it repeats the same stereotypes. Main actors are beautiful (?), fat people are embarrassing, the popular people are from cheerleading or sports teams... Disney nowadays Acting isn't spectacular.

Now, singing isn't all that good. Songs aren't half that bad. I mean, the music is okay but the lyrics are horrible clichés:
"Everyone is speacial in their own way, we make each other strong.
We're not the same, we're different in a good way, together's where we belong."
I think I've heard something like that before.

The movie is all about how you should "Stick to your status" and forget your stupid dreams and still two most unlikely persons to go together become a pair... I think, I never watched the movie to the end.
Singing is overrated. The teens aren't even really singing, it hurts my ears to listen to them. Either there has been a lot of mixing or everyone are just pretending. You decide.

It annoys me. And Zack annoys me even more. However, the friendship bonds between the characters are great. And Vanessa Hudgens seems to be OK. Some of the songs are OK too.I wouldn't watch it again, though.

Hm, I didn't even watch that movie because I hate movies like that D: I saw a parody of it and even then the characters annoyed me...

i really hate high school musical but i would be a big hypocrite if i say i hate disney because i still like Hannah Montana And Demi Lovato lol. My cousin was overly obsessed with these movies she had like posters movies cds, dolls everything it was creepy everything shew ownd was high school musical but now she got over just a while ago and switched her obsession to selena gomez lol she seen monte carlo 3 times already
