Ah yes, I heard about this on the LS lj comm, but I wanted to wait till I found out if the rumors were true or not to post anything. Guess it is true.
I'm fine with all my fansubs, but I might buy th DVDs if they get a good voice cast....which I'm somehow doubting.
I really, really hope they don't cast Wendy Lee as Konata just because she's Haruhi. I didn't like her Haruhi >_>

O_o; Where'd you hear that from? As far as I know there's no confirmation of another season.
There has been confirmation of a spin off manga tho called Lucky Star: Pocket Travelors.

English dub of LS is going to be bizarre. I can except an 17 year old girl talking about anime/making nerdy references in Japanese because it doesn't sound any weirder than anything else in Japanese but in English it'll just be weird.
I wonder what they'll do for the Karaoke as well as that's bound to be a copyright minefield.

Stephanie is an odd choice. I'd thought she'd be Miyuki.

When do they realize that Wendee Lee isn't Aya Hirano's American counterpart? Just because she was the voice of Haruhi doesn't mean she has to be the VA of Konata.

Wendee Lee's Haruhi was suck too.
She might pull of Konata tho. She's done several varied roles before. She's got talent...she just failed as Haruhi for me.
..............what're they gonna do about the episodes with Daisuke Ono and Yuuko Gotou is what I'm wondering.

Gaaawhd why. I hate dubs soo much. But my (cursed) curiosity will force me to sneak a look. Americans make anime all..... wrong. They made yuugio, the DB seires, and Naruto worse than hell. they do good on some, like fulllmetal, or bleach.

Yu-Gi-Oh was dubbed by 4kids, what did you honestly expect?

Though the voices don't sound as childish as the Japanese voice-overs. =(

They sound pretty good in my opinion. Wendee Lee is pretty good as Konata. But I still think of her as BlackRose .__. And Kari Wahlgren as Kagami was a pretty good choice, though she coulda' sounded a bit more, as
baKa-neKoh said, childish. Miyuki's was.....erm.....Karen Strassman, she was Yuzuki is
Chobits, right? She sounded okay. Tsukasa's now, Michelle Ruff, she was good. And I know Kate Higgins is very good. But Akira's voice? I pictured someone like Sandy Fox.

I don't mind the voices not being childish. I mean, I though they wereall twelve or something, until one of them mentioned a seventeenth birthday. Me: "WTH?!?!"
Miyuki sounds okay - I wouldn't like the voice anywhere else but it fits the character. I like the VAs for the others. This looks like it might actually be a decent dub...

I like the sound of the dub, it's better than what was expected. It's not perfect but hey, perfection should never be expected with dubs. I think they gave a character like Kagami a "funny" voice to try and make the jokes funny to people who don't nessecarily get all of the cultural references.

Attachment of Japanese honorifics killed it for me. X__X Kagami's voice actress is sounds slightly annoying, but other than all of that, everything seems fine. .__.

Kagami's voice actress? You mean Kari Wahlgren? I thought she was a good choice. She was good in Naruto and FLCL, and I thought she did a good job here too.

After watching the dub for a while, I think I'm really starting to like the dub. I probably even like the dub more than the sub. (Mainly because I'm tired of reading subtitles every time I watch the episodes. DX) I don't know much about good dubs, but I think that Konata, Kagami, Tsukasa, and Miyuki all have good English voices. I didn't like Akira and Minoru's voices at first, but I don't mind them now.

My boyfriend showed me this anime at school. Watched up to episode 9, and sorry to say, but I got tired of it.
I can see why other people like it, but this series just pokes fun at the anime fandom in general... and that is not enough for me. Sometimes, more than referencing or parodying, it seems to be merely ADVERTISING Haruhi.
I don't think I will return to it. The animations is colorful and the characters are anime archetypes, but it gets boring. I prefer anime comedies like Azumanga Daioh.
