The only logical solution is, of course, two week vacation.
As such we welcome Pink supervisor, a teacher more emo than Livejournal and Myspace combined, who will kindly aid and join us in our self inflicted death via the medium of this fine show.
Of course, dear readers, you should be warned, young and optimistic Kafuka will try and turn you away form the right path. Her indomitable ability to see the better side of things, even to the extent of making things up, can bring the weak willed into the gloomy world of hope. Also, one should fear the stalkers, the shut ins, the returnees, the Obsessive compulsives and those darn illegal immigrants. If you can over come these and many more distractions you too could "make yourself taller" and be free of the misery that is life.

Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei revolves around a very pessimistic high school teacher named Nozomu Itoshiki who tries to hang himself on a cherry blossom tree. Despite his best efforts, he is saved by a very optimistic girl known as Kafuka Fūra (whose real name is unknown). She explains to him that it is simply unforgivable to hang himself on a day such a nice day, especially in front of such beautiful trees. She decides to nickname Nozomu, "Pink Supervisor", offering to pay him fifty yen to do so. After having enough of the strange girl, Nozomu bolts to the school and starts his homeroom class, but the attempt was in vain as he finds that the girl is one of his students.
The company who produced the anime has done some good work but tend to try and cram in unwanted amounts of wackiness (watch how many times the writing on the chalkboard changes, mostly [mis]quoting other shows).
The art style is very nice, often injecting pop art type stills of the characters for little reason, and it's humour is often rather dark (when the immigrant girl is praising the Japanese she notes "they are nice to children" during which a creepy middle aged guy tells a little girl "he'll be gentle") or rather silly (such as the DBZ fusion dance parody)
Subgroups covering the series.
In other news, Ep 4 has a new OP animation and it is very funky if...suggestive.
