I saw this on another forum site and thought it would be interesting to do here....
And also I was kind of bored.
Extroverts
* are interested in what is happening around them
* are open and often talkative
* compare their own opinions with the opinions of others
* like action and initiative
* easily make new friends or adapt to a new group
* say what they think
* are interested in new people
* easily break unwanted relations
Introverts
* are interested in their own thoughts and feelings
* need to have own territory
* often appear reserved, quiet and thoughtful
* usually do not have many friends
* have difficulties in making new contacts
* like concentration and quiet
* do not like unexpected visits and therefore do not make them
* work well alone
I see myself being a bit of both. Mostly though I can be a major introvert at times.

Uninterestingly I'm a bit of both with more leanings towards introversion.
I say what I think and consider and compare others opinions (at least I think I do) but I tend to prefer my own company for the most part and I dislike unexpected visits/social interactions. I don't why either because i tend to deal okay with such things.

I am an extreme introvert, however, I have learned to compensate for it overall. My last Meyers Briggs Type Indicator test, I maxed out on my introvert side. Of course, I'm not a huge fan of the accuracy and use of the tests, but they do have their value to help with overall self-awareness.

I suppose that I share qualities of both an introvert and an extrovert. According to my close friends and family, I have a tendency to be a motour-mouth. I adapt easily when placed in a new situation and generally take a great interest in what is taking place around me. I am highly opinionated and enjoy speaking my mind in front of other people. However, I do take time to warm up to certain people and enjoy periods of time where I am free to think. My mood and the situation at hand generally effects whether or not I choose to be bubbly or stay to myself.

I would say I'm an introvert. I don't like talking, and I'm usually the quiet person in the class. I think way too much, and my mind always wanders to the weirdest subjects. I don't have many friends. I only have a few very close friends, and they're the only ones I can actually talk to. I could lock myself in my room or in my basement and never talk to a living person for the rest of my life and I really wouldn't mind. (I'm exagerating a little bit, though

)
The only extrovert quality that I have would be the fact that I work well with others.

I said I'm a bit of both, though, the past year or so, I've become much much much more extroverted. I've gotten to know a lot more people and make some really close friends, plus hanging out with my GF and some of her friends. I'm still somewhar introverted, though. I like having a good sum of alone time to think, be myself, listen to my music, do my thang. I sometimes prefer to be alone, and just chill on the computer and nerd it up, lol. So yeah, I think I am both, but over the past year, I lean more towards extroverted.

everyones a little bit of both. for me personally, if im your friend then i wont shut up. but if i dont know you then the only way ill talk to you is if you physically assault me, and even then i might just crawl in a corner and cry instead of talk

I'm a bit of both, because, like many people have said, with my friends I'm completely extroverted, but with most other people, I'm an introvert. Often times, people that I've been with in classes and such asked me who I was and why they'd never noticed me before. Yet, my close friends can't believe that I ever shut up.

BTW, the list at the beginning of the thread is not really the best way to differentiate between the two IMO. One of the best ways to sum up the mix is:
Extrovert: is energized primarily by contact and doing activities with other people
Introvert: Is energized primarily by being with oneself and doing activities alone
You then find yourself along the continuum of each extreme (most are in the middle needing a little of both).
For instance, I am far more energized by doing activities alone. That is typically what will inspire me. I do, however, find great enjoyment being with other people. I just don't usually get as energized and typically find sharing activities more draining than energizing.

I'm an introvert by Asu's definition. I'm typically a loner and i do enjoy "me" time...bc that is when i am able to concentrate and get more done.
But thats not to say that i dont enjoy hanging out with my friends...but im really picky about who my friends are...and i just dont really go crazy if i have to be by myself for an extended period of time...for the most part

And an extreme extrovert will go out of their way to bug people just so they aren't alone. It is for this reason that I firmly believe that introverts are better people
although they are more likely to be serial killers

Really? Extreme extroverts are scary

hahaha, i KNEW there was a logical explination for me prefering my own company! Woot!! And serial killer, huh? Well, i did take a personality test and the person giving the test said that i was the highest score for Idiosyncratic he had ever seen....that has to count for something

I think that I am a little bit of both, I guess it would have to depend on what mood I am in, if I am pretty hyper and junk, then I will not stop trying to start a conversation with anyone in my school

, but on most days, I will just keep to myself and not bother many people with my thoughts

Hmm...I'm pretty much always loud and in the middle of things, I like going up and talking to random people, I like making tons of friends, and I love big, crowded public places, but then after a while I need a few hours of alone time...
But then depending on who I'm around, I generally can adapt to their personality type to make it easier to relate...so if I'm around quieter people, I'll act slightly quieter. Slightly. ^^

hah! i'm a bit of both because i hate being classified into groups! ><" but probably more towards the extrovert side.. like i'm one of the louder people in class who speak up and enjoys making people laugh with non-offensive humor.. mmz..usually.. i love having people [that i like] around me... and i love to talk whether its meaningful or absolute crap [has no point].. i could talk for ages if i felt like it! i don't really know whether i have alot of friends or what's considered as 'alot' but i think having a few close friends is better than having a whole bunch of followers... and sometimes i think it's easier to talk to a complete stranger than someone you actually know...
i like to have my "me time" which usually involves listening to my mp3 player.. so yeah..if i have headphones in my ears... i'm either bored or wanting to be alone... although i can't stand being alone for a prolonged period of time.. i'm independent! and don't need someone to come with me to the canteen/toilet/office [during school] etc.

I'm a bit of both

. I am usually always loud, and open in crowds. I am easy to talk to, and love talking to everyone (even if ya don't want to talk [jk]

). But then when I feel tired, or just feeling like having a day off. I am usually an Introvert

.
(I agree with

.)

Introvert. I can't say I'm both because theres only 1 or 2 things in the extroverts list that i do which are
* compare their own opinions with the opinions of others
* easily break unwanted relation.
I don't believe thats enough to consider me both.
I may not seem it online, but i am become easily chatty when I'm not in public. I can't really have person to person conv.
But me being Introverting has it's many flaws. One, for example, is having almost all the girls dislike me.

. Which I don't like, I'm easily put down >.<

I think I'm a bit of both...but mostly introvert.
If I'm with my close friends, I'll be open and very talkative. But for instance, in my biology class where I'm friends with no one, I'm the quiet girl who gets put behind the VERY extrovert people to limit their chattiness @_@
In extrovert instances, well, not that many...xDD Maybe two.
I like having friends, but being alone is always a pleasing change of pace, and I'm more than happy to sit in a corner and not have anyone bother me.
People bothering you when you're trying to concentrate or just doing something quietly annoy me the most...I hate them...><;
Yes...all in all I'm pretty much an introvert.

I'm shy and insecure, so I'm more introverted. Now, I don't think of myself as anti-social by any means, since I love making friends and sharing company with others. However, I'm hesitant to start conversation at times with people I'm not very close with. In fact, I get lonely easily, too, so maybe I just really need to come all the way out of my shell.
I'm not as shy as I was years ago, thank goodness. Shyness is just something that a person needs to get over, even if it takes years. I'm getting over it, slowly but surely.

Pretty much an introvert. Unless spoken to, I'm very quiet and reserved. Plus, I'm usually looking at the ground with my hair hiding my face so I can't make eye-contact with people. Yeah, sad, I know, but I'm not that social for a reason (yet I have so many friends o_O)

I said I was a bit of both when I voted, but now I'll say it here.

I call myself an introverted extrovert. I can come off very shy around people I first meet, but I start to really warm up after a year of knowing them. Yes, I know a year is a long time, but I'm working on that. I used to be an extrovert and then I moved a lot which made things uneasy for me as a preteen. That was a hard moment in my life.

I'm much more introverted than extroverted.

I like having a small group of close friends and when I'm with them, I could yap on all day. But when I'm with a crowd of people I barely say a word.
At university I live in halls of residence and on my floor there are 17 other girls, and I barely see any of them because I don't really go outside of my room unless I go to the bathroom/kitchen/lectures. At one stage they actually contacted one of the mentors because they thought I was ill as I barely leave my room. xD It's not that I don't like to make new friends, it's just that I feel we all have nothing in common; the biggest difference between us is they like to go out boozing practically every night and I don't drink at all. I struggle to find like-minded people. But I actually don't mind my own company.
I'm usually the more thoughtful and quiet one in my group of friends. I tend to be the more "mature" one that people come to talk to. (Although, sometimes it can feel like that it's all they come to me for!) But I do get very talkative with my little group of friends, with a sense of humour that only I get, but they know that's just my style.
I think the most extroverted thing about me is that I can be very opinionated. xD
