Fullmetal Alchemist Discussion Board > General Discussions > General Music
Pages: 1, 2, 3
Leeroy to the Jenkins
Mad World by Gary Jules
Evanescense - My Immortal, Like You, Breathe No More
Within Temptation - Our Farewell, Bittersweet, and Forgiven
Faith Hill - There You'll Be
Martina McBride - Concrete Angel
I don't know who sings this song, but its called something like Dance with My Father Again. It's SO sad.
I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith (To me if you've seen Armagedon, saddest song ever!!)
God's Will by Martina McBride
Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton sad.gif
Mine are pretty typical, but I thought I'd throw in my two bits. Some of these songs aren't neccesarily "sad" in the typical sense, but to me, they evoke a feeling of sadness.

"Dance With My Father" by Luther Vandross (This is the one that RoyxRizaFan was looking for, and I agree.)
"Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton
"Angel" by Sarah McLachlan (This one tops my list. Everytime I hear it, I tear up.)
"Concrete Angel" by Martina McBride
"Field of Innocence" and "My Immortal" by Evanescence
"Broken" by Seether featuring Amy Lee
"Dear Mr. President" and "Family Portrait" by Pink
"Forgiven" and "Somewhere" by Within Temptation
"Ghost of You and Me" by BBMak (I didn't want to include a separate post for just this, although this was not one of the initial ones.)

And (Since it's almost exactly 6 months 'til Christmas...) "Ornament" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
I want to add some new sad songs to my list. sad.gif

"Who Knew?" by Pink (if you see the video, it's pretty sad.)
"The Ghost of You" by My Chemical Romance
"My Immortal" by Evanescence
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by The Beatles
"Life is Beautiful" by Sixx A.M.
"Van Nuys" by Sixx A.M.
Well, most of The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack by Sixx A.M. is pretty sad too.
I have a few more to add...

Who is This Child? - Trans-Siberian Orchestra,
Better Days - Thrice,
THUNDERBIRD (piano redux) - TM Revolution,
Winter - Tori Amos,
Northern Star - Hole.
I'm going to add a few to my list.

"Cancer" by My Chemical Romance
"Golden" by Fall Out Boy
"The Christmas Shoes" by....I don't know.
"When You're Gone" by Avril Lavigne
"Never Too Late" by Three Days Grace
Little Washu
Annie by Vanessa Carlton

Now that's one depressing song...
"Seize the Day" by Avenged Sevenfold
"Candle in the Wind" by Elton John
"I'll Be" by Edwin McCain
"Sleep" by My Chemical Romance.

From all of these, "Candle in the Wind" is the saddest to me. sad.gif
Little Washu
"Dear God" and "Time For Me to Fly" by Nick Jonas

He's definitely my favorite of the three. I just learned that he has type 1 diabetes...awww D:
American Pie - Don McLean
Little Washu
Uninstall by Chiaki Ishikawa
Dear God by Avenged Sevenfold
My Immortal and Breath no More by Evanesence
Forgiven by Within Tempation
Aozora by Lia
Inori wa by Lena Park
You are beautiful by James Blunt

Those for the moment o.o
To me, some of the saddest songs to me would be..
Glass Skin by Dir En Grey
Ghost of You by MCR
Centrefolds, Protege Moi by Placebo
We got some good ones! biggrin.gif

I don't think I've listened to many sad songs, and I've probably forgot most of the ones that I have heard... *head/desk*
But... for now, I'd say "Bratja", because it's soooo pretty, and everytime I listen to it I feel like tearing up a bit. rolleyes.gif
Endless Dream by Conjure One. Every time I hear it, it makes me want to cry so much.
Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley cover.
Knockin' On Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan
Someone else said Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls, and I just wanted to second that.
Transatlanticism and Lack of Colour by Death Cab for Cutie (okay, pretty much anything by Death Cab is depressing).
Several Ways to Die Trying - Dashboard Confessional
Forever Young - Youth Group cover.
Wynter Myth
With Eyes Wide Shut - Blessthefall

Things Left Unsaid - Disciple (<------ MEGA SAD SONG!!!! T___T)
The Scientist and Violet Hill by Coldplay
Prayer of the Refugee and Hero of War by Rise Against
Killing Loneliness and In Joy and Sorrow by H.I.M.

(In Joy and Sorrow isn't totally sad, it's just that it has the slow sad song melody.)
This was probably already mentioned, but "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton is easily one of, if not the, saddest songs ever. A lament for his four-year-old son's death.

I'd also consider some songs off of the Pink Floyd's the Wall - "Is There Anybody Out There?" A wonderfully delicate acoustic guitar solo, as well as "Vera" and my favorite Floyd song "Comfortably Numb" - also "Wish You Were".

"You're a Big Girl, Now" by Bob Dylan is also good.
GREEDisGOOD, I fail to see how Comfortably Numb is a 'sad' song, unless you knew someone who was an addict. That song is about herion.

In my current situation, "One" by Metallica is the saddest song. If you haven't heard it, it is about a soldier who steps on a landmine, and lives through it. He 'wakes' up, unable to tell if he is alive or dead. None of his senses work, he's hooked up to a bunch of machines that keep him alive, and he just wants to die.

A buddy of mine recently died in a very similar way over here in Iraq. A lot of war songs have similar effects on me right now.
I think there are many very sad songs but the only one stuck in my head is Queen and the Soldier by Suzanne Vega. I am crying every time I´m listening that song.
I think I have more...

Breathe No More - Evanescence,
Why or Why Not? - Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni ED theme,
In the End (piano) - Linkin Park,
Dear You -Hope- - Hotarubi Kakeru
"My Immortal" - Evanescence

Toma Zdravković - Dotak'o sam dno života ("I Touched the Bottom of Life")

Toma Zdravković (1938 - 1991). He did not sing, but he put his life in every song. These sincere emotion the audience breathlessly recognized and absorbed, with him, mourned and suffered, cheered him to persevere. Every song was part of his biography, a part of life that he knew only love, restaurant, society and music. But with all of this, life of the last bohemian is still secret.

Toma Zdravković - Dotak'o sam dno života ("I Touched the Bottom of Life")

Dotako' sam dno života, i pakao i ponore.
I touched the bottom of life, Hell, and Holes
Ali ti mi dušu uze, hej prokleti ženski stvore.
But you took my soul, you cursed woman.
Pa zbog tebe nemam mira u snovima i na javi.
And because of you I do not have peace in my dreams nor reality.

Kako da te muko moja? Kako da te tugo moja?
How will my soul? How can my sadness?
Kako da te srce moje, na trenutak zaboravi?
How can my heart, forget you only for a moment?/x2

Duboko je - daleko je, ja osetih svu goorčinu.
It is deep - It is far, I feel bitterness.
Dotako' sam dno života, sad verujem u sudbinu.
I touched the bottom of life, now I believe in destiny.
Ali tebe više nema u snovima i na javi.
But you no longer exist in my dreams nor reality.

Kako da te muko moja? Kako da te tugo moja?
How will my soul? How can my sadness?
Kako da te srce moje, na trenutak zaboravi?
How can my heart, forget you only for a moment?/x2

Šibali su moju dušu i orkani i tornada.
My soul was destroyed by hurricanes and tornados.
Ali ti mi dušu uze, hej prokleta ženo mlada.
But you took my soul cursed young woman.

I agree with these...
also "Original Sin" by Hole-so powerful-; "Black Dove" by Tori Amos always brings familiar feelings; "Top Of The World" by the Dixie Chicks; "UR A WMN NOW" by OT3P...
@Razzy: Final Distance is such a sad song, considering it is written for a girl that was killed in a school shooting in Japan, I believe.

I also find the song Mockingbird by Eminem quite sad.
