As for Olivier's age, I doubt she is over 50, even 45. A couple of reasons for this.
-She doesn't look it.
-Roy even jokingly flirting with someone who is 15+ years older is a little weird, and would probably not portray the image he's trying to make quite as well. At that point he looks more like a fool or a suckup than a ladies' man.
-There is a possibility of Arme(?) and Strong-ko(?), Alex's two older, similar looking sisters being twins. It would make the most sense, since you have one babe of a daughter, two... dudes of daughters, a son, and then another babe of a daughter, if they were identical twins. Anyway, so that can give Olivier a chance at a smaller age gap between herself and Alex. Heck, theres even a chance Alex, Arme(?) and Strong-ko(?) are triplets of some type. It's farfetched, but plausible from what I see.
-Alex looked very young in battle. Perhaps 25 or so, placing him around 32. This is all estimation. Though I have a hard time seeing him as much older than Roy, both now and in Ishbal.

Now this is really bugging me and I'd like better evidence to figure out her age. In all honesty, she looks 30.
Turdaewen
I guess she's late 30's, since she's older than Alex, but I'm with you there that she doesn't look over 40.

And about Roy not flirting with older women... well it fits his 'scoundrel facade' just fine. I mean, look at Madonna! She's like 50 and I doubt any 30 year old man would refuse to go out with her!
Even more so because he wasn't actually flirting with her, but 'making connections', as he always does.

Fun fact: A friend told me Hughes is 25, because on his gravestone it stated his time of birth to time of death, which added up to 25. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Michiyo-
No, he was 29. According to his gravestone he lived from 1885 to 1914, which is 29 years.

What rank do you graduate from military academy in Amestris? I always assumed Hawkeye joint Mustang's team shortly after, rank 1st Lieutenant. If it's 1st Lieutenant that would mean Falman didn't attend and had to climb the ranks longer, meaning he's older.

*end of specualtion*

Agree on Breda and Havoc being around 26/27.

The rank Hawkeye graduated in is unconfirmed from the manga. (I tried, but her shoulder rank strip was frustratingly not shown dry.gif I mean the scene after the Ishval war, when everyone was recruited into Mustang's team).

I guess it was Warrant Officer though. The highest would be 2nd Lieutenant. She was still 2nd Lieutenant when Mustang went to recruit Ed. She was only promoted later, as was mentioned in the Figure in Red Gaiden.

Breda graduated in the same class with Havoc (read it in Guidebook 2). So yeah, they're more or less the same age.
Turdaewen
Yeah... they're probably Warrant Officers when they leave academy, since Warrant Office is the first of the 'officers' career, in most cases.

Even more so because Riza probably is a higher rank than her academy colegues, for fighting in Ishval. (at least most her academy friends showed in the series are 2nd Lieutenants, while she's 1st.), but she didn't graduate a 1st Lieutenant.

It's different with Fuery, for example, because he's a Non-commissioned ranked military, meaning: he's not an military officer, yet.

But, at least here in Brazil, you can join the Army in two ways: going to Military academy as "enlisted", or go to the Officer's school to which you exit as a Aspirant during a probation time and, once that probation is over, you're promoted to 2nd Lieutenant, which is the first post of an Officer, here. You're only called a Warrant Officer if you were enlisted as a soldier before hand and didn't entered directly to the Officer's school, since you can only enter such school if you're at least Graduated in college.

Usually, going straight to Officer's school makes you be a younger officer than going through the whole soldier process, but that's not SO different, since you take about 5 years to graduate in college and enter officer's school, while the normal Military Service you serve for about 6, 7 years to get to an officer position. Either way, most 2nd Lieutenants arrive at that rank with around 24~26 years old.

Exactly. Both Roy and Hughes are the same age (born in 1885), according to Hughes' grave and the Perfect Guidebook 1 timeline.
IceSkadi
If Roy is 30 I think that Riza should be four or five years younger. If I'm not wrong in volume 0 (the one with all the Arakawa's sketches) there was a "26?" near one of Riza drawing.

Falman seems older in my opinion, maybe 32 or something around there.
Breda...mmm 27? Probably he has the same age of Havoc, but I'm not sure.
Fury seems younger as well probably he is 25/26 if not 24.
Turdaewen
As said before, Riza is not that younger than Roy. Probably about 3 years younger.

And I really doubt any military personnel would allow a Colonel take over a division with subordinates who are older than him. It's just not very well seen, having someone who's your "chief" and who's younger than you.
It's not only about Ranks, but about authority. Roy may even command men who are older than him, but not direct subordinates like the 5 he has.

And about the Volume 0, are you talking about the sketch book?? If so, that "26?" is referring to Lt. Maria Ross, not Riza. The explanation at the bottom of the page clarifies those where sketches of Maria's first appearance in the manga and Arakawa was defining her character.

That's true but Roy has became Colonel at a young age so is possible that he has some older subordinates even between his close collaborators. However I guessed that age for Falman basing my suppositions only on the physical aspect...maybe it's 'cause he is so emaciated tongue.gif

Ah! Thank you for the correction! Probably I've never noticed the explanation lines at the bottom or simply I've forgotten about them P:
Turdaewen
It is possible, but not probable. Even though Roy is WAY too young to be a Colonel, usually Militaries have a very conservative position in terms of putting someone in charge.
Hierarchy is something they take very seriously and it's not only in terms of Rank, but also in terms of age.

Even more so because it would be very strange to see someone who's 35 years old to be simply a Warrant Officer or a 2nd Lieutenant for no especial reason.
All others who have that rank level are about 25 to 28 years old, so, in Falman's specific case, I doubt his age is what his physical appearance lets on. Even because, as I've said before, I know people who're 25 years old and already has a gray hair. That's genetic and not only age related.
Luxuria-Cat
Sorry for reviving a dead topic...but I had a lot of age questions...
First off, how old is May? I have absolutely no idea...o_O
And Noah, she looks older than Rose, but that's all I can tell.
How old is Pinako anyway?
And the manga homunculi...what are their "ages", if they can be called that?
Thank you for any help...
