Full Version: How Have You Evolved During Your Stay On This Forum?
Fullmetal Alchemist Discussion Board > General Discussions > Open Talk
How were you like when you first joined this forum? How are you like now? The compare and contrast pathetic self-discovery? thing would be most interesting if you've been here for at least two years (which I know some of you have). It would probably be even more interesting if I waited a couple more years, but I don't know if there'd be anyone I'd still recognize by then. unsure.gif

- I was, being a regular eleven-year-old kid, just starting sixth grade.
- I was forgetting every Chinese word I knew.
- I hated Shakespeare.
- I was a passionate but a passive Bush-worshiper.
- I didn't know who Gashole was.

- I'm in college. I skipped junior high and high school because I'm a genius.
- I've relearned Chinese and am forgetting every Chinese word I know.
- Shakespeare who?
- I've started a business selling Bush collectibles over the Internet.
- I've dumped Gashole for a better offspring. rolleyes.gif

et cetera.

Gashole also has an even shorter attention span now and is less dedicated to any particular website. The only thing that hasn't changed about Gashole is her unhealthy obsession with ghosts, shamans, and their genies. Please handle invisible beings with care.
Carnal Malefactor this spam? I think this is spam...
Eh. Move it then. I've completely forgotten how this forum works.
I think a better name to this topic is: Has this fourm changed you?
No, I think Gassy's title is very nice.
Celestial Shadow
Gassy? Whoa. And I say yes. Too lazy to elaborate~
No, I don't think that i have evolved in the few months I have been on this fourm so far i've only:

-created a semi-succesful election thread and that didn't help anything
- Made lots of canidian friends
- Learned that going to the fourms during school is punishable with 30 minutes after class
- Reduced spam production by 85%
I am now Karasexual. wub.gif
Carnal Malefactor
I've actually regressed.
Yaoi-crazed soul....
500 words isn't enough. And there have been changes that are confidential. tongue.gif
How about a 100-page novel? But hopefully the fourm changes you in a good way.
To much words for me >.<

I've evolved by seeing the effects of Void killing n00bdom. smile.gif .... Which actually scared me laugh.gif

The internet equivalent of a 'scared straight' program.
I doubt that 'scared streight' works but your anti-n00biness program has a 99.9% success rate.
My first argument with Popo sorta made me not be as n00by as i was at that time.
I don't think i've changed drastically, but there have been a few minor changes.
- I used to hit on guys
- I had a job
- My son was still a little guy.
- I was a serial dater
- Super active

- I only hit on girls
- I'm unemployed
- My son keeps reminding me daily that he's a big kid
- I found a dude who's willing to be my wife
- Super lazy

^That's the closest to an essay that you'll get from me.
I think that the fourms make you take a deeper look into yourself and the comments that you write are truly "YOU".

Before i used to spend an hour a day on the computer
Now i spent 4+
Before i had a 92% in math
now i have a 87%
(^^ I doubt that it has any correlation with being active on the fourms)
evolved? not a still the same old Lone exept now my nick name is actualy Lone with my buds
You know, this format you've presented is not essay-ish at all, Gassy, and is not nearly 500 words. I should know. It takes me approximately 10 minutes to write 500 words of new original prose as of lately, and it is a solid textwall, about as long as your post itself.

*Insert scholarly icon*

Anyway. Here's the list format, because I'm procrastinating more.

When I came here I-

- Was sixteen years old.
-Didn't know what I was going to do with the rest of my life.
-Was scared of Bacon
-Engaged in pissy elitist arguments about FMA sub versus dub, and complained about how the new fans were retarded. Feared how popular the series might become.
- Had an A cup.
- Had pink hair.
-Sucked at drawing
-Sucked at writing.
- Was a girlpimp
-Called myself 'sort of christian' and left it at that mostly out of insecurity and fear.
-Could not clean my room to save my life
-Liked Evanescence and Good Charlotte
-Was unknown on the board

Now I-

-Am eighteen years old
-Don't know what to do with the rest of my life
-Wub Bacon
-Find It is now a naturally accepted fact that FMA is one of the most popular anime in existence and has some of the most annoying fans to boot. Still dislike the dub most of the time
- Have an A cup.
-Have my naturally blonde hair.
-Suck less at drawing.
-Suck less at writing
-Still a girlpimp
- Have developed a lot of my own theories on faith and religion, leaning towards atheism, but am very interested in the practice of Buddhism.
-Can not clean my room to save my life
-Do not like Evanescence and Good Charlotte.
-Am a big name on the board and a mod to boot. And a general forum whore. <3
Molecular Alchemist
Ok..well...let's see

When I first came to the forums I:
-argued over little things in the character discussion boards
-was in school
-had a job
-complained about classes

Now I:
-stay away from the character discussion boards
-still in school
-jobless, well..i teach...but that will be over with in a week or two
-compain about the stupid lab partner
-JUST REALIZED THAT IT'S Lone, not Ione ohmy.gif

When I came here:
-Was nOOb and tried to create coup
-Disliked Aily
-Liked Linkin Park, AC/DC, and Green Day
-Was really into anime, drawing and video games
-Was immature
-Loved VK
-Had forum relationships/crushes
-Frequent poster

-Not as much of a nOOb
-Aww, Aily :3
-Now like Leviathan, Agalloch and Galloglass
-Still love anime, drawing and video games, but not as much and don't have much time for it any more
-Dislikes most VK now because the attire and music has gotten extremely generic and now realises Mana is not so great (still like his aesthetic)
-In a real relationship and couldn't be happier
-I don't post nearly as much. Most in General Discussion and Music
Sweetheart Slash, you did not address the subject of your current level of maturity. tongue.gif

I shall post my essay-list later when I have compiled one of sufficient length for submission.
One thing that will always be one of my traits is overlooking things easilly, mostly because I do not go back and proofread and junk. I am not very thorough.

But I think I have matured a lot since I have become a member here.
I think you have, too. In fact, I cannot find any false statements listed in this thread so far, except maybe Toby's claims of drawing/writing suckiness.
Carnal Malefactor
In the beginning:
-Had a job
-Didn't have a dog
-Was still in school
-Didn't drink at all
-Was sane
-Liked discussing FMA at length
-Thought I could never find true love through the internets

-Haven't worked in over a year
-Have the best dog in the world
-College graduate
-Borderline alcoholic [okay, that's exaggerating... a lot]
-Hanging onto my sanity by a very thin thread
-Hate talking about FMA
-Have loved and been jilted through the internets

So yah, bring back Jimmy Carter [but let me keep my doggie]
In the olden times of the forum when threads were few and far between, it was a big deal to have 200 posts, and we barely had over 500 members I:
- Extremely modest
- Was too shy to express my opinions
- Was too naive
- Was mistaken for a guy without even trying
- Just turned fifteen
- Wrote 5-paragraph-essays for school
- Sucked at writing said essays
- Loved FMA
- Freaked out over any sort of flirting
- Was very forgiving
- Blamed myself for most everything
- Was also scared of Bacon
- Was 5'4"
- Was a silly, hardly-known member who lurked more than posted

Now I:
- Say modesty is for the birds
- Try to go out of my way to say what I want
- Am less naive
- Am known far too well as female
- Am seventeen and driving
- Write college application essays
- Write a bit better
- Tolerate FMA
- Turned Tobysexual and welcome any gender
- Less forgiving of n00bs and the like
- Realize that not everything is my fault
- Wub Bacon to bits
- Am three inches taller
- Am well-known, respected (I better be), and have been a mod for over a year... I think

An essay on how has the forum changed my life

I shall now enrich your life by sharing with you about how has the forum changed my life?. In depth analysis of how has the forum changed my life can be an enriching experience. While it is becoming a hot topic for debate, it is yet to receive proper recognition for laying the foundations of democracy. Inevitably feelings run deep amongst the easily lead, obviously. Complex though it is I shall now attempt to provide an exaustive report on how has the forum changed my life? and its numerous 'industries'.

Social Factors

Comparisons between Roman Society and Medieval Society give a clear picture of the importance of how has the forum changed my life to developments in social conduct. I will not insult the readers inteligence by explaining this obvious comparison any further. When The Tygers of Pan Tang sang 'It's lonely at the top. Everybody's trying to do you in' [1] , they saw clearly into the human heart. While deviating from the norm will always cause unrest amongst ones peers, how has the forum changed my life bravely illustrates what we are most afraid of, what we all know deep down in our hearts.

Special care must be taken when analysing such a delicate subject. On the other hand anyone that disagrees with me is an idiot. It has been said that the one thing in society which could survive a nuclear attack is how has the forum changed my life. This is incorrect, actually cockroaches are the only thing which can survive a nuclear attack.

Economic Factors

Derived from 'oikonomikos,' which means skilled in household management, the word economics is synonymous with how has the forum changed my life. Of course, how has the forum changed my life fits perfectly into the Maiden-Tuesday-Lending model, which I hope will be familiar to most readers.

Housing Prices
how the forum changed my life

What a splendid graph. Well housing prices is in financial terms 'holding hands with how has the forum changed my life.' Assumptions made by traders have caused uncertainty amongst the private sector.

Political Factors

Modern politics owes much to the animal kingdom. Placing theory on the scales of justice and weighing it against practice can produce similar results to contrasting how has the forum changed my life and ones own image of themselves.

To quote a legend in their own life time, Bartholomew Woodpecker 'I don't believe in ghosts, but I do believe in democracy.' [2] What a fantastic quote. If how has the forum changed my life be the food of politics, play on.
The question which we must each ask ourselves is, will we allow how has the forum changed my life to win our vote?

To reiterate, how has the forum changed my life deserves all of the attention it gets. It replenishes the self, brought up a generation and it is human.

I will leave the last word to the famous Elton Schwarzenegger: 'I wouldn't be where I am today without how has the forum changed my life.' [3]

  8. Found Void funny and intresting, liked the Mods in general.
  9. Considered myself smart and funny.
  10. No one to argue with.
  1. Know enough about anime and manga to hold my own in a convo...just,

  9. More stuff that I can't recall.
  10. All Mods are scum and will remain that way 'till I join their lofty ranks. (I'm happy to wait)
