(if you're using windows)
step 1) download any of the latest releases (currently mirc6.2)
http://mirc.com/get.html
step 2) Setup
Open the program.
Press Alt+O to access the options menu.

Fill in fake information for the Name and email address.
choose a nickname/handle that you want to use as well as an alternate.
Try to pick unique names as all the generic/anime names are probably already taken.
Press OK.
step 2) Connecting!

now at the bottom of the screen:
type:
CODE
/server irc.rizon.net
followed by the enter key
this may take a min or two to connect and if it works you'll see a whole lot of text pass by (the message of the day etc)
step 3) Joining the channel
at the same place where you type the command to join the channel.
type:
CODE
/j #CircleOfTyrants
then hopefully you should be able to then say hi and let one of the active people in there help you out :S
How do I change my nick?
Let's say I wanted to change my nick/handle to RaginGajin or something equally retarded:
CODE
/nick RaginGaijin
How do I register my nick?
type:
CODE
/ns register <passwordhere> <emailhere>
Replace <passwordhere> <emailhere> with your password and email.
You will get a confirmation email from rizon.
Try not to use a hotmail account since that will typically be blocked.
You should get a response like this:
[11:49] -NickServ- A passcode has been sent to *******@isp.com, please type /msg NickServ confirm <passcode> to complete registration
How do I identify my nick?
After you register and later sign on, you want to be able to switch to the nick that you registered and identify yourself with the command:
CODE
/ns identify <passwordhere>
How do i get one of those cool nifty vhosts
vhosts / virtual hostnames are something you can customize
to request a vhost make sure it's in the right format (using periods to seperate words / no spaces /etc)
like "omg.i.love.you.to.death"
type:
CODE
/hs request omg.i.love.you.to.death
then wait for an irc op to approve your vhost
Once approved, you should get a Memo from one of the ops
Read the memo and then type:
CODE
/hs on
to activate your vhost.
to look up a person's vhost or your own
use the command:
CODE
/whois <nick>
