=====================

Uwaa! Just like the rumors say, they'll go livid if you say "Month-long wait!"

We've all wanted to meet our childhood heroes, but few of us would sell ourselves short in doing so. After narrowly avoiding death by fan secret service, the Tiny Alchemist and his brother Alphonse decide to take a ticket north, where Scar's been hit by *snap* a smooth criminal (Yoki are you okay? So, Yoki are you okay? Are you okay Yoki?), and the ever cheery sunny-side up Marcoh and Mei Chan the Explora set out to find Scar's Brother's complete works (abridged). Back at the boarder, Edward and Alphonse have reached Briggs, only to do battle with Ash Williams' stunt double and hair stylist. Due to server lag and Brigg's l33t CS clan, it appears our heroes have been taken captive by Armstrong's sharp-eyed illiterate sister, General Olivia Milla Armstrong.

Had to do some navigating and quick-drawing to get this posted in spite of the errors. Another victory for man over machine.

The only thing I can think of right now is that its apparent Ed has to get something added/changed about his automail. They know what to do in the cold climbs so I can only imagine it will be in this chapter.
Tombow
@Nepharski - Thanks for getting this thread up!! (Even with your IE!! tongue.gif )

I agree with Chiyo, and curious to find out what kind of material is being used for the Crock guy's arm!!

Hmmm... this is a good way to get Winry involved in the story again.

Does anyone else think she might follow him up north to make the necessary alterations? It's been a while since we've seen her, and chapter 64 DID have that one scene with Winry and Garfiel back in the shop. If Garfiel really feels that Ed is in danger, he might encourage her to make the trip.

But what I'm really eager to find out is more about ScarBro's research notes on Rentanjutsu that he hid up there...

And more of sis-Armstrong is going to be interesting. Can't wait to find out more about her.
Antimony
I think Ed will have to cave in and call Winry to come upgrade his automail. It's not like she could find him by herself, since she doesn't know his location (she knows he went up North, but not exactly where). But he'd have to convice the General that he's legit before he can use her phone. smile.gif
Chiyo
Well I think it will involve Winry, as I've stated elsewhere why would we see Garfiel saying what he did to her? Its obviosuly going to worry her.

But in saying that the military team must knowhow to upgrade it too, so maybe they will. Of course, I hope its Winry.

Though my theory is she's is going to go to find him and get herself caught since its safer for her to stay away from him. Its probably not going to happen like that at all but it made me wonder.
Tombow
^^ Yeah, I'm hoping Winry will come and fix Ed's automail.
And, judging from how fast Ed and Al traveled to the North (in one chapter!!) she could get there fast, too!! tongue.gif

This is true... no way Winry could locate Ed up in the great white north all by herself! Now, Ed convincing the General to let him use her phone (if there even ARE phones up north...) would be a funny scene. XD

I have a feeling Gen. Armstrong is going to grow to be quite a favorite character of mine.

Also, I'm curious about the interaction between Ed and Al and the Fuhrer's son that was there in the beginning of 64. There has got to be some major signifiance to that. It seemed like Arakawa woudl not throw something that seemingly "random" in there without an intention to elaborate upon it later. I know it was a running point for a while that the Fuhrer's son had admired the Elrics, now the fact that they have MET each other (and talked to his wife as well) leads me to believe that this will come into play again.

At least I'm convinced that the wife and child are not aware that the Fuhrer is a Homunculus.

Of course she will! And I'm sure that Ed will call Rush Valley and Garfiel will tell him "She has already gone, you pathetic and useless runt! A man shouldn't make worry a young lady!" laugh.gif After all to find Ed is not hard : you ask for a tiny man and a big suit of armor, and you can be sure you will find them!

Sure, the military will try. But I'm sure that their automail specialist will say that this one is far too sophiscated for him to repair (or so I hope).

Personnaly I wonder if General Armstrong will "order" her to put some weaponry in Ed's automail...

I've been reading on a few boards lately that FMA will end in 16 chapters. Granted, this is probably just worry-some fan theory based off Hiromu Arakawa's vague estimate at the end of the series, but some of them seem quite bent on this idea. Besides, worrying is one my finely tuned abilities.

So, what do the masses think? I doubt it, but it does bother me to think the end might be so soon.

*pops head into conversation*

FMA ending in 16 chapters?I highly doubt it.To me that seems a bit rushed...But that's just me.That and I would be extremly dissipointed that it would end so soon.Unless the ending is really good. But I'm able to like just about any ending as long as it isn't "...It was all a dream..."

...Gosh.Now I'm worried. D:

You mean with Vol. 16?? Gosh, nooooo!!
I'm not ready to face the ending of FMA manga that soon!! blink.gif
Chiyo
Perhaps they means that when it will begin its 'final story?' There is just so much to deal with, and a few small stories going on it would be a little rushed.

It has been said, at the end of the Ishbal flashback, that the manga will end in 20 chapters, and that Arakawa didn't intend to do more that 20 tomes. That's seem realistic to me, even if I think il will be between 20-25 tomes rather than exactly 20 tomes.
Antimony
I don't even want to think so far ahead as the ending yet. That's too much for my addled brain to handle. For now I'm just going to trust that it will be quite a while before the manga gets close to wrapping up.
Karlykitten
End in 16 chapters!? NOOOOOO WAYYY!!! Until someone shows some proof, I refuse to believe it. But still.....that's something that I'll be worrying about for quite a while.

And General Armstrong is awsome. I hope she stays in the story.
Colette
Remember that 16 chapters would be 16 months, which is a year and a third left of Fullmetal Alchemist>_>

I am suddenly curious about how Gluttony is doing right now...
Reta McClain
I am interested where Hoho-papa is...

Wonder what he's been doing since we saw him... 11 chapters ago.
Tombow
I'm curious what/how Greed/Ling is doing.
The New Fullmetal Alchemist
So many characters... so little time... mellow.gif
Animeoldtimer
I think it's time for Hoho to come back into the picture but I don't think he'll meet up with Ed an Al for a few more chapters. I think we'll see Riza though.
The New Fullmetal Alchemist
Yeah, hopefully... But we really haven't seen either of the "fathers" for a while now, have we?

QUOTE

True... I think we are bound to see Hoho pretty soon. The last we saw him, he was heading toward some sort of mountains, right? I'm not saying that these were the Briggs mountains, but what the hell? Who knows?

We are, more than likely, going to see Farman again-- since he was stationed up North when Mustang's company split up.

I don't know about everyone else but got so caught up in the whole Ishbal flashback (some of my favorite chapters...) that I almost forgot how many other characters there were that we needed to get an "update" on (Hoho, Ling/Greed, RanFan...)

Just wondering how soon Arakawa will get around to telling us more about what's going on with them.
riza hawkeye 9
yeah , i think in chap 65 we are going to see hoho !!! he's being totally forgot ..and yes more armstrong sister !!!! i really wanna know how she can help ed an al !!!
and yes ... finally .. scar brother's notes of alchemy ^^....what about them ???

but i really hope to see riza in this chap ....or roy ...or .. at least general grumman ..............
Chiyo
Its so close I can practically taste the sweat on Ed's brow.

(I just wanted to say that) but it seems people aren't as wound up for this chapter as they have been for others.
riza hawkeye 9
oh... i don't know about the others but i'm really anxious for this chap ^^ ...checking the site every hour ( can't wait until the raw is released ^^).....

Oh my god... I just looked through the RAW and this is damn cool chapter. I want to talk about it, but I'm not sure if it's allowed at this topic...

Really, I can't wait until the scanlation is out.

The person at the two last pages (no, I'm not saying names, because some people don't want to know...) cool.

That is the only right word to describe this chapter.

Freaking cool.

Downloading as I speak.

I love the fight scene between Kimblee and Scar.
Too bad it's cut short!!

Ah, yes... I was so much expecting this fight... And I liked it, even if it was short. I mean, on one hand, it was quite expectable that this wouldn't be T3H Kimbley-Scar encounter (too soon for a climatic fight) and, on the other, it's just logical:
As Kimbley himself reminds us in the manga, he had just gotten out of jail and wasn't very fit, whereas Scar had been into fights all the time, and almost always with an overwhelming advantage over his rivals (except for Armstrong and the 2nd fight against the Elrics. And, well, of course, Gluttony).
So this battle took the logical step and Scar did indeed pwn Kimbley quickly. Too bad he pulled out yer usual cheap Bad Guy Last Second Escape™, but I guess it couldn't be helped, for the plot reason stated above. happy.gifU

One thing, tho'... At the beginning of the fight, they're on an open wagon... but in the last chapter they were in a closed one... I understand that this is done to show us the fight better but... how did they end up there without having started to fight? Did they just stop and agree to move to a better illuminated place between chapters or what? XD Dunno... Maybe if the other wagons showed signs of fight... but they're (or they look) intact... Me not quite like this u.u
Whatever, it's a minor detail... happy.gif

More things... the looks! Not only Ed's red coat has returned (yeah, it's a different one, but it's a red coat again), but his original clothes too. Too bad, tho', he looked better (more mature? realistic? hotter?) in a normal shirt... sleep.gif
And Al's "hair"! OMG, the poor thing... one thing he had that could attract girls, one long cool-looking... eh... ponytail? huh.gif waving to the wind, has now been reduced to... that. Poor, poor Al XD

Oh, and speaking of Al... did you notice that all this time he was helmet-less... he could see? blink.gif
I wonder how... huh.gif

EDIT: Thread link'd. Me poor thread is doown, doown there.... needs some bumping love sad.gif
Nepharski
Falman makes a return, and Sloth makes a suitable cliffhanger. Only one Homunculi left in the shadows now.
Tombow
^^ @Sensenic - Yea, Al losing his plume!! XDDD
Poor Al, but it's funny!! tongue.gif

And, as someone had predicted, Miles (sp??) is part Ishval (from Grandfather's side.) Cool!!

Speaking of cool, sis Alex is one tough chick!! Sugo!!~ blink.gif

I kinda like Miles... No can get all he says, but he seems a nice guy. Unlike "my-automail's-tougher" Buccaneer, he's caused a good first impression on me. smile.gif

Also like the automail mechanic girl's design cool.gif

EDIT: Oh, also...
"Those who bring death are chased by death" -Zof J. Kimbley-

This man keeps impressing me more with each chapter... the damn psycho XD
Sensenic
Thanks a lot, Kirara! happy.gif
Kirara
This chapter was great but Sloth was the best part I wasn't expecting that. I can't wait to see what role he will play in the next chapter.
Karlykitten
AHHHHHHHH!!!! WHY DOES EVERYONE GET TO READ THE CHAPTERS BEFORE ME!!!!! *runs into wall*
Rinslet
omfg! need translation soon O_O
Rinslet
Kimbley's so hot! xD short-but-great fight.

Commando? you mean the movie, right? xD i though that

Sloth was a total surprise.

*runs to catch the bus*
Full Metal Elf
Well, no translations yet...but OMG...so amazing just to see!!

So...I don't really think Kimbley's dead. I mean, why would Arakawa do all this awesome stuff with him, then just kill him in two chapters? He still has the Philosopher's Stone...that has to do something.

SLOTH! Finally! One of the two we want to see! Which means....Pride is next! XDDD

Poor Edo-kun. His automail is being a pain. But this means Winry's coming back!

And of course...Falman, so glad to see that guy again happy.gif.

I guess I'll wait for scanlations/translations to be able to say more.

No, no, he's certainly not dead. He was sad he failed on killing an Ishvalan twice and that he had to run away from a fight, and he promised Scar the third time he wouldn't fail...

So good ol' Kimbley will have more "screentime" for sure. happy.gif
Full Metal Elf
XD...ahh...show my complete lack of knowledge in Japanese...hehe. Good, didn't think he'd go so soon. Then I'm anxious for this third time. Which makes sense anyways. I thought it was a little sudden for Scar vs. Kimbley anyway.
Tombow
I'm impressed by Kimbley's "cool headed-ness"!!
He calmly assessed the situation, sized up the opponent, and chose to retreat.
Very smart!! Looking forward to their third meeting!! biggrin.gif
