I'm a real James Bond fan. I seriously can't wait for Casino Royale next month. It's going to be a gas...

My favorite 007 has to be obviously Sean Connery. You can't beat the original with his Scottish-English accent and wit and personality. He looks more badass nowadays even when he looks old with gray hair. laugh.gif Plus he's going to be in the fourth Indiana Jones movie coming out in 2008 I believe.

My favorite movie from 1962-1977 and 1979-present has to be Goldfinger and Octopussy respectively. Both really stick out in my mind because they somehow "hit right on the spot" as far as the "Bond formula" goes and has a great combination of action and Bond girls. cool.gif People are always telling me that Thunderball and Dr. No were the best which I'm not too much of a fan of both. I prefer Never Say Never Again over Thunderball any day.

Well the new Bond will pass me by, the past two were such a dissapointment to me, whoever decided to cast Madonna should be shot.

But past Bonds yes, and my favourite film of them all is You Only Live Twice though none of them lack charm...course I don't include George Lazemby in that. My concern for the new Bond is, from what I heard, none of the things that make Bond Bond will be in it.....bar his tux and his drink.

Perice (if only because he was the first Bond that stuck to my young memory)
Golden Eye (great film, awesome game smile.gif )
I was tempted to vote Octopussy becasue of the name but I had to go for Gold finger. Killer bowlerhat FTW!

Whoever decided that Madonna should be the opener to Die Another Day should be punched in the ovaries then spilled with napalm in that order.

Goldeneye... <3

The movie was such a great impact and change when he arrived. The plot was more indepth and personal which I thought was pretty good judging by the Brosnan movies after that just didn't fill those expectations. I heard the same director (name doesn't come to mind) of Goldeneye is directing Casino Royale so that's why I'm excited.

EDIT: Who voted for Timothy Dalton?

I voted Sean Conery, The one and Only true bond, biggrin.gif
GoldFinger and Goldeneye.
I played that game so much when I was younger! laugh.gif
I completed it on ever dificulty and unlocked everything.. I really had a boring childhood. ><
There now remaking Golden-eye for the CS: S engine. Looking sweet, biggrin.gif

Oh HELL I accidentaly hit Timothy Dolton, twas meant to click Roger Moore, though most people don't fave him either.

Anyone know who's doing the opening track of the new film? Kylie this year? Or maybe a delightful RnB sample from Beyonce...or Nelly he would just be great.

I do find it amusing, apart from killing the music, they cast a non English actor, for a role that is ment to be British through and through..
Oo...
Bond is starting to loose his touch it seems

Nah, Dalton's cool. He was sorta like a demo Brosnan when he came. I do like the Living Daylights over Licence to Kill. The theme to the Living Daylights is so great. A-ha <3.

Yeah, it has after Goldeneye, but I really have hope for this new lineup coming so I'm psyched. cool.gif

Well goldeneye was a great film, pretty hard to live up to, tongue.gif
Still i shall still see the bond films eventually.. just not watching in cinema like I used to. They just havnt got the same "Wow" factor anymore..

Sean Connery - 'The' Bond character
George Lazenby - lets not
Roger Moore - posher, less cheesy
Timothy Dolton - darker Bond (films were too, wasn't one of his Bonds a 15 certificate UK)?
Pierce Brosnan - verging on cheesy, dashing

and as for the new Bond, yet to see
Ratzenheich FMA Super fan
Whoa! I'm a James Bond fan too, well, because of my dad. He has a collection of James Bond films. Anyway, my favorite 007 movie is Goldeneye. Octopussy and Goldfinger would come in second place... have to choose between the two. Pierce Brosnan is my favorite 007 actor. Roger Moore is second... I didn't like Sean Connery that much. He's kinda soft and his acting is kinda fake, for me at least.

Anyway, don't you agree that Die Another Day doesn't have that much "James Bond" to it... It felt so modern... I didn't feel the classic 007 touch when I watched it.

Anyway, Casino Royale will show next month! biggrin.gif I also don't like the idea of a "blonde Bond". All the previous actors had dark/black hair.

I wish to add in the new Bond there is no Miss Moneypenny or Q....I had heard about this a while back and it makes me sad.

Missed this thread. My loss. I'm a Bond fan through-and-through, seen all the films.

Connery - The man IS Bond. Period. Moving right along
Lazenby - Worst Bond yet. My opinion may be forced, as the one film he cared to appear in was arguably the worst in the series (Even "Beating" Never Say Never Again).
Moore - Long before people were confusedly chanting "James Blond," Moore was brown. And a bit more light-hearted. Was originally the man Ian Flemming zoned in on as Bond, before he warmed up to Connery. Hit or miss? That's for you to decide.
Dalton - Forgettable. Not too shabby, but none too notable either.
Pierce - Looked the part, that's about it. Cheesy one liners, unbelievable stunts (well, more so than usual), over-reliance on gadgets and loose women. Averages out due to Goldeneye's awesomeness but everything else's awfulness.
Craig - Best since Connery. More along the lines of the books than the film continuity, or so I've been told. A refreshing take on what Bond should have been, not what Brosnan made it. Thumbs up.

I would like to add that although I cannot comment on the new Bond yet...the theme gets my approval. Heck anything would have to be better than Madonna *shudder*

Ahhh, really? Shame. The Die Another Day theme is perhaps the only thing Madonna's ever done that I actually approve of and endorse (was just listening to it awhile back).

But yes, the new theme is stylin'. I quite like it.
GREEDisGOOD
The first question in the poll is stupid. There is not, was not, and never shall be any actor that can top Sean Connery as James Bond. He is the original and the best.
I have watched all the 007 movies all my life, own them, collected them on both VHS, and then sold them to buy them all again on DVD. I've watched each of them tons of times, and I can say that my favorite Bond movie is From Russia with Love. Bond is a spy genre and, in that case, this movie best portrays it. Although, of course, Goldfinger is up there in my list of favorites, it's not quite my favorite.
Peirce Brosnan started out good, Goldeneye and the World is not Enough I liked, but Die Another Day was an absolute travisty. The plot was ripped off from Diamonds are Forever, which was a Bond movie that came out in 1971. The characters were horrible, the dialogue was crap. And the whole damn movie seemed to be surrounded around the dumb car chase in the ice palace that lasted way too damn long.
Thank god they got it right with the next one. Casino Royale, which was the first 007 novel Ian Fleming wrote, brought the francise back up to par.

Though Goldeneye, in my opinion, is not the best Bond movie, it is definetly the best shooter game ever made. I spent months playing that thing. Beat it too, and unlocked all the cheats the right way. Now, thanks to Senior Priveleges at school, it's all of my class playing Goldeneye during study hall. All of sudden, school's fun.
Chiyo
We also must take into account the Casino Royale has been the most accurate in terms of the original book Bonds character.
GREEDisGOOD
Yes, I have to admit that I was impressed by Casino Royale. But, the movie series is more of an absurd type of spy movie with gadgets, girls, bad guys trying to destroy the world, instead of an actual series spy plot. That's why they're so damn successful - they're fun as hell to watch.
ゆきえいり
I voted Brosnan (he's one tough dude). Live and Let Die, and Octopussy.

I'm resisting the urge to yell: The name's Bond...James Bond...
=P
The Mad Bomber
Face it people, you can`t beat Sean Connery biggrin.gif And Goldfinger
