Annoying, more likely (if you experience it.) And, he also makes comments on his legs (he shaves).

I am pro gay marriage and don't think people should be taught it is wrong. Also, I am against children's books that portray gay/lesbian relationships positively being censored in public and school libraries. I think it's a case of something that doesn't hurt anyone, so we shouldn't prevent it.

This should have had a poll included in the topic. I'd liked to have seen the percentages.

I can still add it if Popo (the thread author) agrees that the poll(s) might merit the thread. ^^
(If so, I need the exact poll question and the poll choices. smile.gif )

Okay:
Should homosexuals be allowed to marry?
*Yes, they should be allowed to have the full religious service or civil union.
*Yes, but only a civil union
*No, but whatever else they do in private is fine.
*No, homosexuality should be illegal.

In case you're wondering, I voted for Civil Unions.
If churches want to allows Gay marriage then that's great but we shouldn't force our beliefs on then.

You got a point there. I guess you'd just have to find a church that excepted gay marriage or something.

True, but when you think about it, allowing gay marriage isn't forcing churches to preform marriage ceremonies for homosexuals. It's just something that a church can do if it wants to. There are tons of rights that married couples get when they marry (cheaper insurance, different hospital visiting rights if spouse is in intensive care, etc) and they shouldn't be denied from people just because of the fact that they are homosexual.
(I voted for 'Yes, they should be allowed to have the full religious service or civil union'.)

It's just something that a church can do if it wants to.

Here is the problem though. Any Church/Temple that preforms this ceremony goes against it's teachings. Now that may not sound much but please recall "the Troubles" in Ireland and quite a lot of blood shed between the Scots and English were brought about by such an act (Henry the 8th forming the Church of England (Protestants) so Divorce was allowed.)
The rivalry between the Catholics and Protestants is still a problem in Ireland that has only recently showed any signs of stopping. Think what would happen if the same thing happened in the US.

Same sex marriage won't come from new laws, it will come from the religious leaders. Until then Civil unions will be perfectly viable option. It's basically a marriage minus the God.
