QUOTE(The New Fullmetal Alchemist @ Jan 28 2007, 02:10 PM)
BTW, anyone know what the conditionas are for "best movie of the year"-type categories at these awards competitions? For example, is it possible for an animated movie to win "best movie" at the Academy Awards?

I could be wrong, but I kind of think so.
I vaguely remember that Michael Moore, who received Academy Award for Best Documentary with Bowling for Columbine in 2003(?) wanted to go for Best Picture with Fahrenheit 9/11 (which is a documentary film, although highly political in nature, and some might disagree that's a documentary film..) for 2005 Academy Award, and campaigned hard for Best Picture, and ended up getting no nomination for Best Picture, nor for Best Documentary.
So, I think it could be done?? Maybe?? biggrin.gif

I just watched 'Children of Men' and that certainly deserves its nominations. I haven't seen a British film that looked like Hollywood could have funded it in a long time.

I'm anxiously waiting for "Sweeney Todd"... whenever that comes out. Most likely this year, if not, 2008. XD

I also really want to see "Spiderman 3"

The makers of Shuan of the Dead have decided to make a new film, Hot Fuzz. Looks pretty okay. You may want to watch SotD before you see this though as there be some in-jokes.
(Also, try and see Spaced, the TV series they made.)

I don't go to the movies that often, so I rarely look forward to films.

However......Spiderman 3 has me all a twitter. Mostly because the symbiote (I may have spelt that wrong, it's been a long time since I've seen it on paper) is in it, meaning that chances are, they're setting it up so that if they do a Spiderman 4, it's Venom's turn.

And I've wanted Venom to show up in the movies since the first one.
What can I say? He's one of my favorite Spidey villians (next to Doc Ock) and the effects on him would look WICKED.

But I'll settle for the symbiote in 3 for now. <3 Effects should still be awesome for it~ Kyahh~ I'm so excited! >3<
