Shortly after the announcement concerning the licensing of the Full Metal Alchemist PS2 game arrived, it was made known to the public that FUNimation had licensed the series and plans to bring it to America.

Full Metal Alchemist will air on Cartoon Network, slated for October of 2004. This suggests that FUNimation had owned the license long before the announcement was made, and worked on translating and dubbing it for a U.S. Audience.

They have also recently launched their official website at www.fullmetalalchemist.com , on this site you can find two trailers for the series, one of which reveals to us the dubbing for Alphonse.

As a result of the licensing, this website will be taking down all infringing materials, direct downloads, torrents are gone. As soon as we can confirm the status of other licensed materials you can expect them to slowly dissapear as well. Fullmetal-Alchemist.com respects the licensing rights and laws of the American license holder.

Below you can find the official announcement regarding the game:

Square-Enix today demonstrated one of their recent games now slated for Americanization. Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel, having already been released in Japan as a comic, anime, DVD, and videogame, has done quite well for Square. The company now believes it's possible to develop products for multiple mediums under one roof. So, in partnership with Funimation, Square intends to duplicate the same Fullmetal phenomenon found in Japan in the United States.

Funimation will handle distributing the Fullmetal Alchemist cartoon in North America -- a cartoon that has already sold 51 episodes to Cartoon Network for an October air date. Square, of course, is picking up the game end of things, namely the lengthy localization process, which requires trying to Americanize an...interesting...storyline. Expect it Spring of 2005.

~ Funimation Official Voice Actors Released, And Related Additions On Our Site ~

With the official launch of the FUNimation www.fullmetalalchemist.com website, comes a nice load of stuff. First and most importantly, There were links to video clips of episode 1! Since connecting to view them nearly gave me an ulcer due to the horrible slowness, i will put up a mirror of the file here as quickly as possible. From the videos you can get a good impression of the voices behind Edward and Alphonse... happy.gif;; but at least you'll also notice that they kept the background music and sound effects.

It also seems that due to a delay in a shipment of materials, the release date for the first DVD has been pushed back to Feburary 8th, 2004.

**EDIT: You can download the clips in high speed in our Media/Videos Section

***EDIT2: I noticed that there were conflicting times on the official site, one said 11:00pm, one said Midnight, and the official forum announcement said 11:30, so for good measure start watching at 11 smile.gif

There was also an official listing of the voice actors:

Edward Elric - Vic Mignogna
Alphonse Elric – Aaron Dismuke
Winry Rockbell – Caitlin Glass
Pinako Rockbell – Juli Erikson
Roy Mustang – Travis Willingham
Riza Hawkeye – Colleen Clinkenbeard
Maes Hughes – Sonny Strait
Lust – Laura Bailey
Gluttony – Chris Cason

Sir Cornello – Andy Mullins
Rose – Colleen Clinkenbeard
Trisha Elric – Lydia Mackey
King Bradley – Ed Blaylock
Gracia Hughes – Lauren Goode
Nina Tucker – Brina Palencia
Shou Tucker – Chuck Huber
Basque Gran – R Bruce Elliott
Scar – Dameon Clarke

In other news, stay tuned as we continue to update the site. We'll be bringing online the latest manga scanlations to the online viewer, and completing the anime episode guides. For those who havnt noticed, we have also updated the Synopsis section, by adding more character biographies.

We've also added episode preview videos available for download. You can watch the preview for each episode by clicking the little tv icon next to the episode number on the Anime Section
