QUOTE(Gashole @ Sep 12 2004, 07:14 PM)
A few things I don't get:
- If Ed is a metal alchemist, then how is he able to transform things into metal? I thought alchemy is where you understand the composition of an item, break it down and transform it into something of a different shape but of the same composition?
- Where does Mustang's fire come from? What does he trade to make fire??? (Oxygen??) Also, does it mean he can't transform anything else?
- This is a little unrelated, but why do the better alchemists have different transmutation circles?

"Fire" is not an element. It is simply a form of ENERGY. It seems that Roy simply generate an energy large enough to initiate the combustion of oxygen (which happens many times in the real world, from gas stoves to fire disasters)

at first i thought the question was asking any style of alcehmey like an open ended question, i don't like the options..the best alchemy i heard was someone calling it Quantum alchemy rolleyes.gif

but hey armstrong and scar ain't that bad, i think they were probably misused by the directors thats all laugh.gif i can kill is very efficient than a lot of flashy puglisit step 1, step 2 movements

Maybe I'm missing something, but who are some of these people? O_o I've read up to chapter 40 and Hohenhiem never used alchemy, and who're Dante and Siren and Tucker used alchemy aside the chimera thing? Izumi never did. Are you people reading the manga in Japanese or following the anime or what?

Ah, that explains much.^^ I've only read the manga, and am on finished the latest Chapter (40) of the manga, though I have seen eps 1-5 and 32...I didn't see that coming!! Damn the anime for progressing farther than people can translate the manga!! Or something like that...does anyone know if Ch. 40 IS the newest? I doubt it. Also, Limewire is sucking right now. Is there a place where I can download the anime? Though, if we look at the manga for a second, Roy uses Havoc's lighter and the water she flooded the room with to annihilate Lust. So, I believe it's safe to say HE can use his alchemy when it's wet, and to a more dangerous extent at that, but he needs some kind of fire. I voted for the Colenel's Flame Alchemy.^^ Hohenhiem's sounds cool though...light alchemy.

Oh, and Scar uses the decreation aspect of alchemy, so it's not really complete alchemy, more like 2/3 of it- the decreation and knowledge part.

Actually, it wouldn't matter if the anime was progressing farther because the manga and anime have completely different storylines. Sure, a couple of episodes at the beginning vaquely follow the manga, but they are almost completely different from each other. The anime even has a completely different villian. Its like seeing two different animes except with the same characters. And yes, chapter 40 is the latest chapter. happy.gif

Hehe... Scar's "I Kill You" Alchemy..

Yeah.. I voted for Roy.. I like fire.. I like Roy.. so that was the obvious choice for me ^^ (Although Scar and Kimbley's methods rock, too..)

I was also thinking about it, as for the water-weakness goes, there are some instances where Roy can actually get around it.. so it's all good ^_^..

Yeah, poor Edo.. I just feel like his alchemy style is way too basic... besides the automail, I mean...
