I can't even remember what the last original movie I saw was. All of the movies this year suck.

The Hills Have Eyes was kinda okay, but I didn't really understand it that much... Oh, and a remake of a game that was pretty good is Resident Evil 1 for the Gamecube, and Conker... Though RE remake harder to figure out then the old one >_<

There can be a good remake, once in a blue moon, but they mostly suck.

Well, in the case of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory I do think it was better then Willy Wonka, but as Ronaldo Rodregez stated it wasn't trying to be a remake. It was a better adaptation of the book.

I haven't seen it, not sure they are going to do it...but I dread the U.S remake of Battle Royal.

Did anyone see the new Poseidon?? THAT remake did not suck. (Frankly, the wave scared me to death...)
Charlie and the Chocolate Facotory was, okay, i guess, yet it was darker than the original.

I heard it did...big time.

I'm glad it was darker, if you don't think Roal Dahl is dark you don't understand his books.

I thought the first one was dark in a more subtle way. The way Wonka genuinly didn't care about what was happening to the kids and his monolouge on the boat were pretty dark.

Some remakes are needed for movies. Others aren't. Like King Kong for instance. I liked to see a smoother version compared to the metal Kong they used in the original version in 1933, but they really didn't have to remake it.

I agree. That's one of the only few examples I can think of as good remakes. smile.gif
I just watched one of old Zatoich series movies tonight.
The other night I watched the newer remake by Takeshi.
It was Bleh!! Such a lightweight!! rolleyes.gif

Some remakes are remakes of remakes if you follow me.
Take A bugs life, thas a remake of The magificent seven which is intern a remake of Seven Samurai. All very good films of their respective genre.

Not sure its out here, but has anyone seen Wicker Man yet? Is it a remake of the original or have they just stolen to concept? Either way nothing will top Christopher Lee
