QUOTE(Omakase Shimasu @ Aug 6 2004, 03:16 PM)
About GAIM. I just downloaded this programme some 2/3 days ago and expected to be able to send files and receive them. But I could do neither.

And I use(d) MSN Messenger for Windows. Didn't know you had it for Linux! blink.gif

Thanks for the link! Gonna check it out now!  biggrin.gif

For filetransfer with gaim It should open an seperate window and then you can see your transfers but how it works exactely you shouldn't ask, the latest version I used was 0.76 ( na thats not intirely true, I tested 0.77 with windows a time ago, but I was to lame to mess with the package and ports colection of FreeBSD so I used 0.75_6 for a very long time smile.gif ) but according to a girl I know it should work fine

For some reason I HATE !! Msn Messenger ( the program, althouh the protecol isn't much better but my friends from real life don't use ICQ ... ) The last verson of msn messenger I realy used was 5.X, than I started using GAIM ( for windows ) And i realy liked it, I have also had the msn messenger 6 beta but if you ask me it realy sucks, I hate filetransfer with msn/irc, I don't want stupid audio or video conversations and it realy freaks me out about the stupid avatars !

ah but I should say to everyone : "Try GAIM !"

I'm going a little bit far off-topic now, so back to the music again than smile.gif

*hart-rate drops*

Heh, funny how our own bands (Dutch for me, German for you guys) aren't that popular in our own countries. I don't really like Marco Borsato either. Frans Bouwer is completely blah. -____-;;;

Hey omasake will you stop naming the worst music ever made in our country, like this everyone will dislike the Netherlands ( if they allready don't after hearing us post tongue.gif ) wink.gif

Theirfore I will give the good example:

For all the Gothic/Metal fans ( music a la Nightwish, Lacuna coil etc ) There is a Dutch band named Epica And their music is realy good ! biggrin.gif You should listen it. The best number I think is Sensorium

I love Rammestein! Though i don't understand what they are singing, the whole sense is really cool. I also LOVE Linkin Park and Guano Apes. I've been on fantasy folk lately and from english groups I like Blackmore's night.
I also like Japanese music - no matter of what kind. Though I don't listen to pop usually J-pop is cool.
(PS> Asian Kung-Fu Generation is awesome!!!)

So right, sorry there folks~ The Netherlands do have talented singers! To add to WarzoneCommand's post: Within Temptation (if you like that kind of music). It's like a mix between Evanessence and Nightwish.

Of course we also have "funny music": Acda en de Munnik, Veldhuis en Kemper (WarzoneCommand don't tell me you don't like these either XD) Of course, if you don't understand Dutch it isn't half as funny. -___-;;;

And~... we've got Anouk. Michel, Are You Kidding Me~ OK, I admit, I don't really like Anouk that much...

Hmmm, DJ Tiesto for Techno(Trance)-fans! ^__^ I like him.

Waaah!! I just heard the greatest song ever~ OK, that's a bit over-exaggerated, but it's great nonetheless! Anyone heard of Goodbye from SR-71? *__* So cool~

Oh off-course how could I forget Within Temptation, I have their discography, espicialy Ice Queen, Mother Earth, The Dance and Half of me are realy cool ! biggrin.gif

About acta en de munnik and every band who looks like them, hmm na I don't realy like them. Their music isn't bad but it can't compete to Nightwish ( by far ... ) About Anouk, na not great, same story as for family acta wink.gif .

DJ Tjesto, As I told this afternoon on IRC to some people: Only good to use as alpen-horn or any other form of 'device' to create a huuuuge stinking soundwave ( kon niet op herrie in het engels komen ... )

Currently I'm looking for these two numbers:

Boomkat - Rip her to shreds
The Donnas - Dancing With Myself.

If anyone would have guessed, I watched MeanGirls ( movie about some weird teenagers ) yesterday and I liked the soundtracks smile.gif good movie ether by the way biggrin.gif ( now I'm waiting for 2 other comedy movies staring Lindsay Lohan biggrin.gif )

You mean "noise"? tongue.gif

Nightwish~ D'you have "10th Man Down"? cool.gif By far the bestest of their songs, in my humble opinion.

Noise, little stupid word ! na anyway:

and Yes Offcourse do I have 10th man down !! I have all nightwish numbers, even live ones, I believe I even have a midi tone from a couple songs ( which I quite dislike since they are also in my playlist and that is realy anoing when you here such thing ... )

For my complete list of numbers: http://fstaals.nl.eu.org/junk/playlist.txt

edit:

I don't realy think there is one Nightwish number which is the best. But I think these are realy good:

Nemo, She's my sin, End Of all hope, Ever Dream, Feel for you, Dead Gardens, I wish I had an Angel, Lagoon, Deep Silent complete, Romanticide, Come Cover me, Wanderlust, Away, Fantasmic, Walking in the air, Crimson Tide

hmm these came up to me now, there ae a lol other realy cool numbers, as you see I almost like a lot of their nummers realy good biggrin.gif

Over the hills and far away and 10Th Man Down are also nice nummers biggrin.gif
